As a young teenager at this time, they were the most exciting thing to happen to dance/rave music by a long way, proper catalysts. I had no idea at that time just how influential they would be to the scene, my life and lust for new music. At this time I treasured hunting new white label vinyl, shop to little shop on my Bauer Turbos 😁 I'm sure it's not just coincidence that when The Prodigy hit the scene hard, so did tape players that could play/record, both sides without taking the tape out. Happy days 👌👌

@@Ba1-j4k Shelley’s was in Stoke, it was voted one of the best clubs in the country in ‘91, it’s where Sasha grew his name, he had his first residency there. Dave Seaman was resident there too (the DJ not the goalkeeper). You can watch a BBC documentary on Shelley’s on youtube from ‘92 just before it was shut down.

Whatever happened to Sharky, did she just leave? Love the early stuff, not much so after jilted generation. I know they evolved, but nothing beats the rave years. R.I.P. Keith.

They really didn’t feel the super fast dark jungle or the happy hardcore direction the rave scene went in though. Liam actually wrote Poison as a reaction to the rave BPM’s getting too fast for his taste in ‘93. Sharkey stayed mates with the band btw, there’s videos of her backstage at gigs from about 10 years ago.
