This guy you played with is not a pro. He just played many amateur game for some easy money. He always try to use his size advantage on small player. Anyway, he does not have an elite dribbling and always play very aggressive. Plus his ignorant comment, a lot of Chinese hooper dislike him.

I think that you handled the situation very well. Very mature way to handle it. He looked like a proud competitor and he is young. You did a great job of not beating him down but just explaining the situation. From an old coach, you do a great job as an entertainer and helping be an ambassador for the game. Just remember that you are a celebrity and with that comes situations like this. Keep handling your game with the mindset that you represent something bigger than you. God bless and keep ballin'!

Grayson, you're a true professional. I can tell it was important for you to put out a video to set the record straight. You did, but your true fans and followers understand. No need to feel bad. You played fairly, entertained the crowd, and won. It happens. What stands out more impressively are the 300 kids that you positively touched that day. Hope to run into you again soon here in Santa Clarita.

Class act professor, some People have to much ego tied into things they like. You staying humble and kind is the true win here. Thanks for being that way. Grown folks appreciate it greatly. One of the reason I like Steph Curry. Humility is a choice talent and health are gifts even if you work hard because many people work hard with varying return most of which is beyond their control. Glad you are still balling and that it is still taking care of finances. Much respect and admiration brother.

You don't seem to understand the Chinese culture prof. You da hoops man, but in China people are all about the face. They hate losing face and that's that. He just had to say something to protect his reputation -whatever that may be- among his peers. It wouldn't matter if you'd beaten him 11-0. He'd still have something to say. Knowing u can't win every time out is the key. No one is perfect. We will all lose. When u win good play speaks for itself. But u also have to know how to lose, meaning how to handle defeat. Be humble...congratulate your opponent. Learn how to give credit when it's due. Don't be a whiner. Show respect. Be classy. Simple! When I learned about losing and how to handle defeat it made me a better player. Basketball is a lot like life...everyone handles winning But losing and failure happens in all things......learning how to handle defeat teaches u how to handle life's journey!

Interesting story. Never really followed the and1 circuit, but being a basketball fan, I've definitely come across some of your videos. I agree with what you said: sometimes you just gotta take the easy jumper or blow by the aggressive guys for the easy lay in to put them in their place. On top of that, chances are that if he gave off a negative vibe he's probably rubbed more than a few people the wrong way; if he's just playing hard, he should have paid you the respect that any competitor deserves from thereon after. It's easy to build a good/bad reputation on the court, and it's just not worth getting into it with sour apples. In addition, some people tend to forget that what you do is a blend of art, sports, and entertainment. Anyway, keep up the great work!

But sometimes, you just could give (for great competitors and persons), some highlights also. We all know ur game is great, fella...but sometimes, ppl are pushing hard themselves to get the chance to be not just beside you, but playing against you...some ppl get inspirational from your posting, so, make them proud of your humble and sportivity. As a Chinese person (2nd gen American-born, but still Chinese), I can say that many Chinese people are ego and face-driven, so he basically lost face when he lost against you. Deep down inside, he may hate you for beating him, but he still respects you. I showed your videos to my two sons, 14 and 9, and they think you are awesome. I hope you come to the East Coast someday to do a bball clinic. I will surely sign my son up for it

First of all, I am a big fan of the professor. But I think people are over reacting on this one on one game and what the Chinese player "said". I mean, as amazing as professor is, there are many good street players in the world would like to challenge him, this is just natural. The guy of course was not entirely convinced by the defeat because the game was too short and he obviously has ego and would like to have more chances to challenge the professor. I think any baller would understand his position. About what he said, first of all, I did not know what exactly the Chinese player said, sounds to me, it was just 2nd or even 3rd hand information, could be exaggerated. I don't think people should just blindly point fingers to him without knowing exactly what he said. His name is AN YUN PENG, actually he is now one of the top players in a very popular Chinese nation-wide street ball one-on-one tournament. In my opinion he is quiet a skilled player. He might have said something not completely true (although nobody here has really heard what he said, all here are just speculating), but it does not shadow the fact that he can play. The one on one game with professor was too short and obviously he did not think that he got enough time to show off his true skills. So may he should get another chance to have a one on one session with the professor? Many of the players in this on-going tournament "king of the underdogs" are actually quiet good, maybe the professor should pay them a visit? All in all, this is street ball, we should use a real game to show the fact, not just talking, right? one of AN's highlight videos can be seen here, just that if anyone is interested. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mGPGk6lpfLWrhLc

One thing to just simply want a rematch...... it's another thing to call the person who beat you a lier while pretending to be someone else, only to reveal yourself at the end, then delete the tweets. Wanting a rematch and being a sore loser are two different things. And after missing those two bunnies right at the rim, I don't care what his previous accomplishments were.

That doesn't make any sense at all. So, if I play against you, I should not be serious and not use my full power? I'll just, like what you mentioned in this video, play "to entertain" while you (professor) on the other hand kicking my butt and making highlights? It's once in a lifetime experience. And that once in a lifetime experience (against Professor) would be quick since you don't do rematches. Once you (professor) got the ball, it's over. Your opponent won't have another opportunity for a ball possession. The only time you did a video rematch is when a local beat you while you're in a spider costume. You beaten him on the rematch when you took off your mask. That's the guy's once in a lifetime experience with you. People know you're that good. So, from time to time, strangers playing aggressive against you should not be a surprise. It's cool that you can do what you love, travel and meet people. But there would be a time you would grow old, you would have to settle down; and you're going to interact with the same people over and over (because you love to play basketball). Then, on that time, boy, you can't just say you don't want a rematch. New generations gonna come up to you and they don't know who is this "Professor." Young kids don't even know Jason Kidd or Jason Williams nowadays. But, who knows. You probably gonna say, "I'm too old now. I can't play another game (run it back)."
