lol you make it sound like he's 80... There are tons of people 40+ that are still in great physical shape, and really, it's the very fact that he continues to work out and play basketball that is the reason his body is still "holding up." And at any rate, it isn't like he's been working concrete full-time for 25 years or something... he plays basketball and does trick moves. It's just not something that would normally cause some drastic significant wear and tear.

I don't know why so many hate on Professor. . Well, actually, I guess I do, but that's another topic. He has a unique skill set. Saying he's not good enough for the NBA is meaningless. What he does is completely separate from what the NBA does. Streetball moves aren't even allowed in the NBA, many of them. That's like saying a billiard trick-shot performer can't beat a pro pool player. Who cares? The trick shooter might not be able to do what they can do, but the same can be said the other way around. Most NBA players can't do the tricks Professor can do
@divad23

I loved when Professor said most players take what defence gives them (and we are all taught that from young) but he takes the initiative to force the defender into a position he wants 👍🏽
@younglove3362
@younglove3362 Жыл бұрын
That's what dribbling pretty much is. First, get the handle, second get control of the handle, then afterwards you can study the defenders movements and body language and control how you want them to move. It's not easy but it's not impossible either. I don't have the best handles but I found that I made people fall with the most basic cross movements to get them off balance. Thats what Iverson used to do.
@solstice5767
@solstice5767 Жыл бұрын
03:20 I think what Dame is trying to point out is that the defender will recover fast enough to continue forcing you left. In other words, you might see them open up for a split second at the preferred angle to do a nutmeg, but then they'll close up again at the opposite angle. It happens here when you have to push the defender back into nutmeg angle for the purposes of the demo. But yeah, if you can get them tired, they probably won't think of the defensive angles. That said, definitely an upvote for having a real conversation with real insight from Dame

He should've just said he can't do it in an NBA game because he ain't got Iverson handles lol Iverson at 6'1 and not making excuses and making GOATS feel like they guarding a goat. Also, Dame makes it seem like nutmegs in basketball are a regular occurrence. Given the right opportunities, connections, and circumstances, the Professor would have a high chance to have made it pro, even If only for like 3-5 years. Just look at Dame's career, it's reflective of his constrained mentality. Always thinks ways why he can't perform certain moves in a game. It is possible, but only if you have sick handles like Iverson or the professor. He could've just said "I can't do it because I don't have handles as good as you, Iverson, or the White Chocolate. Lol Professor was dope even after Lilard acted with such arrogance.

Right .. but you gotta think .. the Nba players are totally reliant on thier image of being superior to everyone else ...they have a white knuckle grip on that image ... and so by no means can they allow that image to shatter be being shown up by someone not in the Nba . Lillard also was low key `salty` against Professor .. because he knows that he is not quite what he portrays to be ( nor is any sold out nba star espeCially nowdays ) so he has to hold on to the image of the Nba being some sort of `superior` at any cost. To be even more blunt -- he is no longer a real man , so to speak.

“He was despised and rejected- a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all. He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. Unjustly condemned, he was led away. No one cared that he died without descendants, that his life was cut short in midstream. But he was struck down for the rebellion of my people. He had done no wrong and had never deceived anyone. But he was buried like a criminal; he was put in a rich man’s grave. But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands. When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins. I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier, because he exposed himself to death. He was counted among the rebels. He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53:3-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬ This was written around 700 years before Jesus came into the earth, yet it describes His life perfectly. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 God loves you so much and showed that by sending His Son to die for us so that we may inherit eternal life. We deserve hell but He gave us heaven through faith in Jesus. He took the punishment we deserved and by putting our faith in Him we can be saved. This just shows how dame Respect his competition. He wouldn't do a 7 step move which has the same effect as a 3 step move (steps as in actions, not actual footsteps) because he knows that he'll tire himself out within 10 posessions. Dame's mentality is more skewed towards actual results and widening the point difference in their favor. Especially since we have a beast in stephen curry at his position playing for the other team. However, if he can maintain the aura of being giggle-y, something pretty close to kyrie irving, then it'll create another form of monster that won't be easily destroyed.

YO I remember that this man rumored to start out playing at the cement court by the center street bridge coming off HWY 22. I forget the name of the park but back in the early 2000s kids were like "the PRO-FESSAH plays there" XD

This Professor dude could have been the next Jason Williams (famously known as a "white chocolate" of the Sacramento Kings who wore Jersey#55). Instead, he wasted his time, his life being a street baller when he could have been making millions in the NBA and be set for life. I don't understand why he didn't pursue a professional career in the NBA. Chinese basketball team could have use him and even the Euroleague. My guess, he's probably too short as a guard, or too weak to depend bigger opponents?
