From Academy Award® nominated director Stephen Frears (The Queen, Philomena) and producers Working Title (The Theory Of Everything, Everest, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy), comes the true story of the meteoric rise and fall of one of the most celebrated and controversial men in recent history, Lance Armstrong.
Based on the award winning book “Seven Deadly Sins” by David Walsh, and featuring a stellar cast including Ben Foster, Chris O’Dowd, Guillaume Canet (Tell No One) and Jesse Plemons (Breaking Bad), this tense and suspenseful thriller looks at how one of the greatest deceptions in the modern era was uncovered while Armstrong convinced the world he was a hero, winning the Tour de France seven times.

The ironic part of the Armstrong Saga is he still could of easily won any of those 7 tours if there was no EPO around, the issue was he was not a specialist of anything in Cycling. Back in the 1980's many guys rode the TDF for just the mountain stages prizes even though they knew they had zero chance of winning the entire tour. Armstrong's EGO and willing to do anything to win made him turn to EPO in order to get the advantage on the mountain stages. You can't win the TDF unless you can also make up time on the mountains and this was Armstrong's weakness and the reason why he had to use EPO, he was blowing away the best DOPED climbers of his era that clearly tells you he was on a different level of Doping, according to financial records a $250,000 per year doping program. This is why he went after anyone that talked about the "Program" he is in.

+Hugh Jelly Exactly, and 00:10 sold me on the movie in that it might address the fact that for some time Postal was all pan y agua against the Euro dopers. They were talented cyclists who trained hard, but it was either dope like they did or end their career. If it indeed gives the whole picture, this movie will be glorious.

It's bizarre, one of my favorite songs that I use to hear while riding my bike is "Running up the Hill" by Placebo, and it's part of the soundtrack of this movie. Armstrong was the best because he has the best doctor with the best doping program. Everybody did it? many, but not all; and making an analogy is like if my classmates cheat in the exams then I should cheat, or if my coworker steals then I could steal; so at the end it comes to a personal choice/opinion. Mine is the fair one, I study for my exams and I work honestly. My list of clean Grand Tour winners beyond reasonable doubt: Greg LeMond: Tour 86, 89 & 90. Luis Herrera: Vuelta 87. Andy Hampstead: Giro 89. Nairo Quintana: Giro 2014. If I'm wrong please help me with logic arguments & facts, no worries!

that's actually very false that he started to win after cancer. He was outstanding in triathlon ever since the age of 15. He wasn't on EPO at 15... I guess that the majority of Americans probably believe that kind of thing because that's when the first heard about him. watch kzbin.info/www/bejne/eGfLfmybn7Kcd80 and think about how the whole top of the Field was on EPO and he pulls this stuff after wins of earlier stages. ... No one that knows about cycling/endurance sports is that shattered by armstrong. I would bet my life on that.

A few things, Id love to know how many critics aren't even cyclist. If I had everybody attacking me from every angle Id be an asshole to. He lied and so did everyone else racing, hell the UCI cant give the awards to anyone that were taken from Lance since they don't know who wasn't doping, if anyone. If I was in his shoes and had the chance to earn millions, Id do some EPO, especially if that's how the entire field is. Any asshole can be a critic, but he was incredible before drugs came into play, what a lot of this shows Is how different American and European cycling was at the time. How often are the guys in 2nd and 3rd being attacked for drug use, its rare. However in baseball even if you suck and use drugs your drilled into the ground.

He won those 7 tours. Everyone was doping. People always make the argument that they had the most sophisticated doping program, and that's a load of crap. Doping is doping and EPO is EPO; the entire peloton was doing it, how you can do it better is beyond me. If you think administering EPO and then hiding the needles in coke cans while in a team bus is "sophisticated" then you truly are an idiot. The shots of him doing testing with Michele Ferrari in a lab isn't doping, that's him just testing his VO2 max which ALL teams do.
