He was the first cousin of the Prophet ﷺ, and his brother in that he was nursed by the same woman. He was one of the closest and most beloved people to him. When Islam came, he turned his back on the Prophet ﷺ and became a bitter enemy until the very end where after a painful reunification, came a beautiful ending.

I loved this episode. I really appreciate seeing the human side of the prophet saw and his mercy saw. How he showed and was deeply hurt by his brother and yet at the end came around after his brother ra proved his sincerity. It makes me feel more comfortable with not easily letting someone who hurt me back into my life if they haven’t proven themselves and their regret for how they treated you. Which is not something we hear about often and are often made to feel bad about.
