I appreciate you putting this information out here. Hashem saw that man was alone, and that it was not good." Since i have been trying to live kosher and i dont live anywhere near a jewish community so i dont even know how i am suppose to date or anything. I feel like i gotta get on top of that part of my life. I havent been in a relationship since i left Christianity and i havent wanted to try since ive begun to feel that i should just trust Hashem. Ive wanted to deepen my relationship with Hashem first. Now, its been a few years, i still dont live near a synagogue, even a reform. Which could be a blessing, i dont know because im so detached from the community. I think its important to keep kosher and raising a jewish family so thabk you for this nugget of information. Thank you for also reminding me that it is totally Hashem's will for me to get married

So here is my experience… I used to date the traditional modern secular way of dating… I decided to get serious finding my wife… and I had spoken to a matchmaker and she put the entitle process out on the table. I felt like it was a job interview. Well to make a long story short.. afew days after Sukkos… I got a call and was told “I have a very nice girl you might be interested in…” I was given her resume and she sounded absolutely wonderful… it’s nice not having to explain shomer negiah to someone.

I'm not a Jew so I don't care about carrying on things that are Jewish, but I am a Christian and so I approve of all your words about dating & the God Yahweh. You remind me of this little five year old in a dress waiting for her best friend to show up at church. I was fourteen and waiting for my best friend to show up. Her big round face was so cute and you could tell all she wanted was Abby to show up that day. All I wanted was John to show up that day. It got to be that I enjoyed seeing her friend show up before mine. Two fourteen year old boys just would talk and get in trouble, but those two five year olds hugging so hard each time they met would just melt my heart.

Ayala : Your videos are always among the very best! // Shidduch résumés are really interesting. Back in the day, not very long ago at all, there was no such thing in the Orthodox community. I hope your less-informed viewers don't assume that shidduch résumés are a requirement of Halachah, or anything ancient like that. As opposed to the many other things you mention in your videos which *are* exactly that: *Halachah* and therefore non-negotiable. // Without your help, your less savvy viewers cannot distinguish, I am afraid, between the different "layers" of Orthodox Jewish practice (Halachah, universally adopted minhag, Ashkenazi vs. Sefardi minhag, local minhag, convention, etc., etc.). // Thank you for yet another outstanding video!

Hey Ayala, I like your videos and learning about Orthodox Judaism. I am curious about your thoughts on homosexuality… obviously it is a complicated topic and I know homosexual marriage is not permitted in Orthodox Judaism. I’m just curious.

I asked my Rabbi about this and he said while Homosexual relations are listed as sinful in the Torah, the homosexual person themselves is not "sinful" or "bad" they deserve love and respect although Judaism does not condone the act itself

Thanks for the interesting and informative video. Why is it called a resume? Those are for jobs. Do the observant view dating or marriage as a job? Did these exist as long as actual job resumes? It might as well be called an application. Is the name offputting? How do you know whether people's terms are similar. Many people i know say they keep laws but the way they keep them vary so much and some are more observant than may seem and some aren't really. As far as modern observant, don't most touch and even more whether or not in a relationship? And how on earth were you allowed to join into an observant man's life when you weren't yet observant? Wouldn't your lives be so different that he'd look at you at that time as not suitable for his way of life? Was that a tricky relationship? Did you first know you weren't at the same place? Did you have to keep to laws with him that you didn't yet follow? Do you have interesting, funny or inspiring stories or advice based on how being set up with a resume or matchmaker when information is right there for both of you didn't work or wasn't accurate but worked out or didn't? If the person's job or family doesnt matter, whats higher on your list? Is that something you put on a resume? Do you like specific character traits, personality, work ethic, creativity, hobbies, schooling? Is it strange for others it's called a resume? I just heard it and I'm stuck on it, its so formal and "pick me"...or hire me. 💙

Have you ever thought about becoming Catholic or dating a Catholic man? Just wondering. Honestly from my experience, Catholics and Jews have more in common putting God at the center of worship and sacrifice with the rites and rituals than with their own “Christian brothers” in the Protestants.
