This video was very informative! I think a video on the differences between working line vs show line dogs would also be great as well. This genre of videos on your channel are very helpful.

We are going to pick out an 8w ACD puppy this week (I've watched about every single one of your videos haha) The puppy we are really interested in is a female with no solid patches of color or eye patches. We have heard this combination of things may give her a greater chance of being deaf. Do you know if this is true? And if so, any suggestions on how to test the puppies hearing so young? The owners are an elderly couple, so I'm not sure how "on the ball" they would be with keeping up with these things. And it was a litter of 10 so I'm sure they have their hands full! Haha

Hi, I watched your video and wanted to ask a few questions. First, you said that the pros of purebred dogs are that they are health tested. I have watched a couple of documentaries about show dogs and a lot of top breeders tend to ignore their dogs heath and continue to breed them regardless of genetic conditions the dogs can carry. You can notice this in golden retrievers, how now most of them have cancer. The other thing is that even when the dogs are health tested there are still a myriad of genetic conditions that can't be tested for. The other thing that really bothered me was when you said that you know what you are getting when you buy a purebred dog, which in some cases sure, but since dogs are individuals you can't really assume that all animals of the same breed are going to have the same temperament. Shepherds who are scared of cattle exist, aggressive golden retrievers exist, energetic ''lazy breed'' dogs exist and so on. What made me really concerned was, that you group inbreeding with the same cons as cost and waitlist, I think that is a little absurd. Inbreeding and purebred genetic issues are a huge problem. I don't think it is wise to promote dogs who can barely live and preform basic living organism functions like walking, breading and reproducing. I understand that in most dog breeds these problems may not occur, but the French bulldog is one of the most popular breeds at the moment and it struggles to do even that. And if we continue to be selfish and buy dogs just because we could brag that we have a purebred and that its cute or cool then we are going to ruin more and more dog breeds. You can already notice this in the Rottweiler, where their heads are getting larger and muzzles shorter throughout the years. Thank you for reading.
