Not sure if this tip is helpful to anyone but if you use the "shipping with Depop" option they only charge you the 10% fee over the item's price and not the shipping cost

I love Etsy! I sell vintage items and have opened a 2nd store focusing on jewelry. I only used the video option once to show the radio I was selling worked. And then I realized there was no sound - and that was useless for me. Great video!

I have depop and just hit 60 sales! It has been great so far but it is sort of random sells 😅 I never know exactly when I might sell sometimes I'll go a month with no sales then go a month with 20 sales! I am about to open my Etsy shop right now and test how it works for me!

I’ve had a lot of success selling on Depop, but you’re SO right about their customer service. It is awful. There’s no way to get in touch with Depop directly, the only thing you can do is email the general “support” email address and usually they don’t get back to you. It’s such a bummer

I don’t like that depop isn’t gender inclusive in their categories (this goes for a lot of platforms). I sell a lot of unisex items and you have to choose womenswear or menswear. Also I really want to sell on Etsy but because I cross post everything I don’t wanna pay 20 cents for a listing if it doesn’t sell there. Was waiting for this video! Thanks for the info :)

Yes! I wish we could get a unisex category on all platforms! I know what you mean with the Etsy listing fee. I feel the same way! That’s why I only list high price vintage over there 😊

If I sell something on Depop rather than delete the Etsy item I edit it into another item instead therefore not wasting the 20c if that makes sense

I’d love to see a video on styling for Depop without modelling as most of what I have I swim in & not in a good way (tho a few things might fit, lockdown was no help🙁). I want to sell my crochet stuff and clothes I don’t wear anymore. I’m a high school student so I feel Depop would be easier to manage then esty since esty is like a business that your running constantly and have to find all these tricks to get your shop to do well since it is so saturated. Idk tho what would be better for a kid that’s already in school but wants to make extra money to buy yarn.

😂😂😂 The train. I have always somehow, in every city, every state I have ever lived in, I have always lived by trains, even if I can't see the tracks themselves, I can hear them. And now for the last 3ish years, I have ship horns too. 😅 So I just thought it was my train, and didn't realize it was your train until you told me. Made my whole day lol.

So my big question IS what do you do if you have the same item listed on both platforms and it is purchased on both platforms before you have a chance to stop one of the sales???

I've only ever had this happen once because I forgot I had the item also listed on depop. I just messaged the buyer and apologized for the inconvenience and oversight on my part and then I canceled the order. As soon as something sells, I immediately double check all platforms to make sure I delete it from there.

Great question! Etsy leaves returns up to their sellers. So, shops set their own return policy. As for Depop, this is what their website says "In order to be covered by Buyer Protection you must pay inside the app or on the Depop website, using the BUY button and report any issues to us within 180 days. All purchases made in-app and/or on the Depop website, are covered by Buyer Protection and you'll receive a full refund if your item doesn't arrive or if it's significantly not as described." Hope that helps :)

I don't. I know alot of people have success with it but it is definitely a higher overhead cost.

It depends on what type of items you are looking to sell. Etsy is still great for handmade items and vintage items. Depop has been amazing lately for 90s and Y2K items. Depop is a younger gen z customer base so that style does very well over there! Hope that helps :)
