I have downloaded it recently, ut just after a miutre of palying geame was crashing, I tried few times, and finally I decided to give up, but I gave it one last chance and click rigch button on launching icon and chose "properties", then "compatibility", and then "run in compatibility mode", I changed from "Windows XP" to "Windows 7" and It solved the problem. So if anyone tells you about this problem, tell him to try this.

@@plincz9279 Yeah, the engine itself was outdated when you look at many other RTS games arround 2003-2005, with few freeze bugs when the game had to handle big army or high hero lvl. But on the other hand, WBC3 has some features and lore that many other strategy games lack a lot. Your idea is interesting, since we have a lot units on its own kind.

@@plincz9279 There is RTS called StormGate in development by ex-Blizzard employees sponsored by Epic that actually wanna focus mainly on 3 vs 3 and they wanna game to have some sorts of hero system too. Though so far there is not much known how it's going on as not much was released so far, game gonna have closed beta these year and probably release in the next one.

@@andrzejnadgirl2029 We'll see what happens. I'm only interested in a game with mechanics similar to WBC where you focus on economy and military. I've never played a better game of this type than WBC, it would be enough to improve the graphics and optimization so that you can normally play with other players on the official servers without any complications. Then we would have quite an interesting game, for me such a game would be better than most current PvP games on the market, including LOL and others.

Best RPG-RTS hybrid I ever played, and y'all are doing a wonderful job of bringing it back to life! It doesn't just feel like a simple WBC3 overhaul. It feels like a painstakingly crafted sequel to a forgotten game series. The sheer dedication you all show towards making it work is just impressive! Most mods this ambitious for any game tend to choke and die halfway through development. You have nothing but this random stranger's respect for going as far as you have already. If you mean heroes, then you can only bring them in campaigns/skirmishes/multiplayer. Chapters are only playable with preset heroes, not custom ones.

Wouldn't have expected such a big overhaul, and the reasoning behind the choices is very well explained. Some fairly big youtubers like SsethTzeentach or MandaloreGaming would love this game if it was brought to their attention, I think. Are there plans to publish this as a free game on something like Steam or the Epic Store, especially once it reaches 1.0? Such an amazing free project really deserves more visibility and popularity. Oh and a small suggestion: It should be made easier to use custom hero portraits, like with an ingame interface or at least a "Portraits" folder that the game automatically checks, similar to the "Scenario" folder.

It's surprising that official developer cannot do anything like a remaster or whatever. Even Battle Realms get a remaster and Age of Wonders after a long hiatus is again still going. Protectors pretty much done everything on it's own. Not sure if current developer has much to say though, as they are acquired by a new publisher and are still pumping out these Puzzle Quest games or whatever.

I am extremely grateful for your work, I really love this game, I had it since the first one came out and I spent hours and hours of infinite fun, when I was barely 10 years old, you don't know how happy it makes me that you continue working on these projects and defend them giving them many updates and above all that care and affection that you can see that they have put into it, for me it is the best strategy game that exists in all senses, they do not know how I would like it to be widely played throughout the world and for all people to see the true work of art that it is.

So many new features that i would never imagined this would be possible in the core of WBC3. I remember i had many issues when the hero would get hundreds of lvls. The game simple could not handle it and a lot of bugs would happen. There was this map, called Dark Ranger, that had multiple creatures to spawn in middle and be shoot down by towers, to give you fast exp, but i remember i managed to get a hero til lvl 180 just playing skirmish games, so painful and yet gratiful. I hope now those stuff can no longer happen. I really wish to see the full build in 1.0 and give it a good try.

I used to play TP a long time ago and the thing that annoyed me the most was the question of the game constantly crashing game when I was play with my mates. Has it been fixed ? How is multiplayer at the moment? Because it's the most important thing for me to play against other people, not the computer.

Not gonna lie, that looks great af. I am really hyped. WBC2 was my all time favorite RTS. The only thing I don't like from that is the " No spellcast failure". Spell failure was a great unique mechanic and removing it is a mistake to my eyes. It was bringing the "realistic" feeling to it, like missing the target with your fireball because you had to dodge the hit from the enemy.

Not sure how I feel about combat changes, it felt rewarding to have high combat stat and avoid all damage from low skilled units. On top of that- magic is more potent now.. Well, will check it out anyways when release :)

This is just my first review of TPC because I just recently DL it (0.8.9), and playing the Knights. - Given you fix the units spawn in the Eerie's by replacing the Pegasus to Griffin, you didn't fix some faction of it. Also return the Earie as a tier 3 because it feature as uniqueness in the "human" races in the OG game. - Why you replace the resources need in the Smithy as Stone and Crystals, are you out of your mind. Please return it as a default and have it as a tier 2 unit building in correspond to the Stable. - And why the Tier 1 Knight in the Stable need a Smithy. What will you do if players only have Stables in their arsenals then they won't make any out of it, please fix that. - Why Archers are tier 2 unit and Eerie's already available in tier 1, are you worried about the Deamon Imp's then have the Archery as tier 1 building that need Barracks/Garrison because having Archers early can dispose those flying units easily instead of Eagles. Also flyers doesn't need early in the game because it destroy land unit scouting. - Why Vunerabilities and Weaknesses removed, it feature simplicity especially for first timer players. - I think the Knights should use the WB1 buildings instead of WB3 because the third installment looks more arabian instead of medieval knights. So maybe you can create a fourth human race that uses those buildings featuring Chariots as their unique race and inspired the Borderlands continent as a Kingdom or Imperium. This is just my own review and opinion. Next gonna play the Empire. 0:49

Hello there, can anyone tell me how resources work in this version of the game? My gold mine was depleted, yet my crystal mine, stone mine and metal mine all said they had 5k+ gold but i was getting like 1 gold every 2 seconds with all mines with 6/6 workers, was i for some reason not getting the gold on those mines? I couldn't train any troops at all very very very slow.

I know that you do this job with great care, but I have to be honest that it doesn't seem right to me for any reason that you put restrictions on things that never had them in this case with the conversion... (It is something that has always been there since the first game and eliminating it is something very bad for me). Before it was with the distance between towers and now the conversion, you realized that it was not a good idea and it did not work, because restrictions never work, also another fatal restriction is not being able to build near the enemy's perimeter, I repeat, that It's a very bad idea, don't ADD RESTRICTIONS.

Regarding conversion specifically, it's automatic, as in units only need to be within the vicinity of a building to convert it instead of the converter being required to dedicate itself to the task, thereby becoming unable to perform any other task during that time. I would've thought that automatic, 'undedicated' conversion could be considered to be the removal of a restriction. Regarding base building, I can't say exactly what will happen with it, but nothing has been ruled in or out so this may or may not change (and could be subject to further developments or changes in future patches, whether that means keeping it or removing it). We may also introduce an option to enable/disable the feature. I can't make any promises, but if we do end up keeping it, we'll certainly make a video about it and offer the explanation behind our decision.

From version 0.9 you can combine magic auto casts with ANY attitude, including rampant.

ive been trying for afew months to get the protectors on my pc but no matter what i do i cant get it to run even after following the guide, and since the original wbc3 game has decided to shit on my fun and is now having non stop unplayable problems, would it be possible to do an updated install guide?

For now, you just need to install latest FULL version (0.8.9 FULL) then apply patches a and b consecutively. As the mod is stand alone, you do not need the original WBC3 game installed. If you do have another version of WBC3 installed, then make sure TPC is installed into a different directory. Installing TPC inside an existing WBC3 directory will cause problems. In addition to that, each full version of TPC needs to be installed fresh, as in any earlier versions need to be removed from your computer first. This includes the The Protectors folder found in My Documents. Version 0.9 will be a FULL version fortunately, so installation will be easier.

You can find very recent videos of playtesters, so short answers is yes, other than that, after missing a deadline a few months back the developers seem to not want to make more promises, best we can hope for is sometime this year, maybe as a christmas present :)

WBC3 and 0.8.8 Protectors heroes aren't compatible with 0.8.9. From 0.8.9 onwards, heroes will be supported for all future versions.

We want to finish the other aspects of the game before finalizing the main campaign. I recommend playing the Warlords Battlecry 1 custom chapter or the WBC2 and 3 custom campaigns in the mean time.
