Italy right now is probably one of the best nations to play: At low tier, with the R3, you can sidepen anything you see At mid tier, with its amazing 6.3 lineup, you are no longer held back by bad german teamates. Not only that, but you can prety much pen any german from anywhere, and hullbreak any american tank. AND you never face UK stabilized guns in a full uptier again. I hate these new changes, but at least italy is viable again.

Panther F was a very odd tank in war thunder, its a clear improvement over the other panthers however I found it was always getting destroyed very quickly at 6.0 when it faces 6.3-6.7. To be fair when I gave up on it I was still working out the meta in that BR

Hey Odd, if you really love the historical matchups side of things, you should do a video or two trying out SB instead of RB. I feel like a LOT of content creators play an overwhelming amount of Ground RB specifically, and not much of the other modes in the game.

3:44: It is plan and simple, when a game is highly frustrating and highly rewarding (i.e. around 50% and 50%), people are more likely to get addicted and more likely to spend money. EA or some other gaming whale published a scientific paper on this. That is why the BR is compressed, That is why nations in the game go from O.P. to frustrating all the time. It is money. unfortunately, they have no incentive to change, so this will never change.

Panther F is too good for 5.7. Past 500m the Soviet 85mm and American 76mm start to have difficulty penetrating it. The best panther by far.

I think the idea of not fixed teamups is sort of good. All the Germans complaint all the time, Brits 7.0 (now 7.3) is too strong. But as gaijin always has to shoot over it's target they implemented not one change to conquer that, but 3 changes at the same time. Bringing up the Brits to 7.3, making it random if US and Brits play together (yes I had US+Brit matches and US+Germans and Germans+Brits after the change) and bringing down the Leo1. I can understand each change on its own, and would have agreed with every single one on its own, but all three together? That's too much.

@@Lymtek no, I don't think that. I think they are doing this on purpose so they can say the game was balanced as it was when someone complains now. Or they are already planning on implementing new German 7.7s so they finally have a proper lineup. As of now Germans play 7.3 and get downtiers quite some time, or they play 8.3 with little uptiers to 8.7. there are almost no 6.7-7.7 matches anymore as no German plays that. So 7.7 gets mostly uptiers to 8.3 and 8.7, fucking up all other nations 7.7 lineups as no one wants to play constant uptiers. That's what I experienced during my games since the changes.

I feel lucky in my own stupid way. Few years back when got introduced to WT, i got far enough in the german tank tree to unlock Maus, Panther F and the 10.5cm Tiger II. Now i have 2/3 researched and im working on Maus. Glad i somehow managed to make them stay in my research tree, at least i have something to make me feel happy whenever im shit at the game.

I love the DO series of bombers. When I was just playing air RB I used them to make most of my money. Diving on caps at almost 700 KPH and then escaping to the airfield to do it again. The E series even has the 20mm cannon for more SL and RP.

@@friendlycomradeivan5393 that's not correct, they changed the Leo 1 so the tanks finally has a lineup and players don't leave after they die once. Compare the previous German 7.7 lineup to any other big nation. Russia 3 good mediums, 2 good heavies, 1 light tank, versatile anti air. USA 2 good mediums, 2 good heavies, still good light tank from 6.7 decent AA. Germany, 1 good medium, 1 decent medium you don't need to consider in uptiers, 1 heavy which has a bomb magnet as standard modification, 1 highly specialised TD, and a good AA. Brits 2 very good and versatile mediums, 1 good heavy, 1 very good AA. In an uptier all non German nations gave you options after you died once, for Germany not so much. So everyone left after they died in their Leo and the game was lost... So I understand why they brought down the Leo...

@@friendlycomradeivan5393 XD we are talking about gaijin here. There are mostly simple solutions, with great effect, like giving a nation more than 1 tank on a BR. (I know the BMP1 is 7.3 and quite good and if you spawn on the right map on the right spawn side the Raketenjagdpanzer 2 can be quite annoying). But gaijin is not going the simple way, gaijin is going the statistical way XD... Statistics show that Leo 1 is a "bad" tank because of low win rates, so move them down. Statistics show that M48 on the German side is way worse than M48 on the US, so lower the BR. That one of them faces mostly American heavies with turrets hard to pen even with heat and fully stabilized APDS with 283mm of pen did not show up in previous statistics, so it must be a worse tank... Statistics are good, but I only trust those I manipulated myself... It would absolutely help if gaijin had let's say 2-3 test players on their pay list, who would play each BR to give them hints on what to look out for in all of their data. They could also try decompression for once, just change the BR range of the games so they are not +-1 but +-0.7 and see if queue times increase dramatically. If not decompression should not be a problem...

I kinda think I understand why they changed the realistic battle teams thing. More than likely has to do with the player numbers at certain Battle Ratings varying. Removing the historical limitation makes it faster and more reliable to match up two teams of players.

Gaijin should add like a sub menu or RB where you could choose whether you want historical match-ups, and they could also add a historical option where period correct vehicles vs each other. If you want to play period vehicles and you wait 10min for a match then that is your problem, but that is a way to keep all players happy.
