Joel's hair uses a non planer comb, while Joseph's hair uses a planer comb. That is why they can achieve such exacting different results. My comb seems to use magnetics that produce a static charge that lifts the hairs neatly away from a otherwise densely populated real estate of the dermis, while allowing for more even airflow for much of what goes over my head.

I feel like the XL was just glossed over, and that's really disappointing. As a day 1 preorderer, I really hate how little information we've been given, and every time it's brought up it just gets glossed over. That leads me to believe it's not going well.

I agree. Seems that there was some (off camera) reason Joel didn’t go into any details…as if he was told before filming that they were not allowed to . I am a day 1 pre-order as well and I’ve been getting significantly more details on my Anker kickstarter pre-order than the XL.

I really like Prusa Research and Josef - cool all around. When I first started looking at 3D printers I was really sold on getting an MK3S+, but the desire to have a CoreXY machine and the ability to print ABS (enclosed) made me go the route of the LDO Motors Voron 2.4r2 kit (through Printed Solid!). About the time I ordered the Voron Prusa announced the new XL, but I probably would have still gone with the Voron as I did not want to have to wait till Q3/Q4 of this year... LOL.

@@3dexperiments it's not so much about shipping a flawed product, but more about communication... The next batch is already lined up and all information indicate beginning of q4 2022" Prusa said that they will not tell customers their queue number because they want to prevent "place trading" etc... Dudes.. The people paid for it, they are not some tinker freshmen that is waiting for a freebee of some stuff.. Also, if you want to prevent place trading, just say you ship to the addresses locked in the pre-order... What happens after that cannot be changed anyways...
@brisance
@brisance 2 жыл бұрын
@@Mouhfighter it is a detriment to share such information since their suppliers and competitors can use it against them. "Ship to addresses locked in preorder"… are people supposed to stay in the place permanently when they ordered? Seriously? People move around all the time. Is it just me who thinks Prusa is lacking in 3D printer development? I mean it is grat to fix the things around the Printer (Parts, Models, ...) but what is going on with the Hardware? It feels like not much happend since the release of prusa mk3 in 2017. I dont see high speed printing, exotic material compatability, sequential printing, failed print detection, high flow options,... Also the enclosure has no temperature regulation?! Must have ben hard to develop a box with a bolted on Powersupply to the outside. I realy like what prusa is doing for our comunity and the Platforms and Slicer they are providing. It just feels like in the FDM section, not mutch innovation is happening. What do you guys think? Am i missing something?

How do you feel about the acquisitions? I also wonder how “open-source” you consider Prusa’s work? I like their products due to the amazing quality + qc/qa, but I’m starting to get concerned they aren’t as Open Source as I originally thought.

@crazycorg1 2 жыл бұрын
Care to elaborate? I just got a mini and I thought they were pretty open source
@ericlotze7724
@ericlotze7724 2 жыл бұрын
@@crazycorg1 It kind of gets into snobby territory, and let me clarify i am not trying to be like THEY ARE EVILLLLLLLL, BUT: - They only publish/document/open source certain bits; You can find all the printed plastic part files, but no assembly files with every single part (within reason, don’t 100% need screws modeled etc) - Officially Open Source Hardware Association Certified (although i guess the mini *is* ? I skimmed the GitHub but need to pull up that zip file next time i am on my desktop) - Transparency in Goals/Timelines/(semi-controversial opinion of mine idk, but essentially “open budgeting”; you show where the money goes so no shenanigans can happen behind the scenes i guess) Just to make my point clear i guess, they are better than 75% of the market, and i bet the issues probably aren’t due to MALICE or some DEVIOUS PLOT lol, moreso just learning as they go along (re that mini GitHub (that i need to look into more myself) ), as well as strategic.
@ericlotze7724
@ericlotze7724 2 жыл бұрын
The “strategic” bit intrigues me. For context: I am seriously considering getting a MK3s, and am doing so since i like the product *but also the work the company does/it’s ethos* thus i think the cost increase is justified by that. So *in my opinion/experience* I don’t support (poorly made, cash grabbing) clones, because despite maybe being cheaper their company ethos is selfish, and also things like QA/QC are WAAAAAAY worse. However something like VORON and RatRig, which evolved from this lineage of Open Source FDM Printers are coming from grounds similar to how i defined why i am probably going to but a Prusa. Thus if they make a superior and/or cheaper product, i may buy one of those (definitely not the latter lol). What confuses me is, at least from the way I approach this issue, locking down the information mainly hurts development of other OSHW and shouldn’t effect sales too much? *Also* cloning bastards are probably going to reverse engineer it one way or another (although i can see the argument that you can slow them down by providing less documentation etc). But also I’d say there is a bit of a gap there. Chinese cloning company x may have a full department dedicated to reverse engineering products, someone trying to make a mod or iteration of a product may just be on their own with a pair of 20 USD calipers! *TLDR* - Cloners make Shitty Products, that I don’t want to buy (due to quality, as well as moral disagreement with them) - I buy products from the original developers / companies behind good OSHW both due to their quality, and as a way to support their work. - I thus don’t see why one should necessarily fear clones; imitation is the best form of flattery and so on - Revealing less documentation only hurts other OSHW developers in the end since cloners probably have huge reverse engineering teams as is
@ericlotze7724
@ericlotze7724 2 жыл бұрын
Final bit in my rant i guess: Even Complex Parts/Processes can and should be documented In the recent livestream they read a comment i had on if the Original Prusa Enclosure would be open source; They mentioned the modularity etc but said it probably won’t be since it would be hard to fabricate at makerspace level (or something along those lines, I’m paraphrasing and this was a livestream, not some formal response by them!) Granted I don’t know how many places have precision sheet metal cutting/forming + welding + hot dip galvanization or High Quality Aluminum Anodization Systems or Powder Coating and so on Capabilities. Despite this i think documenting this work is important as it allows other OSHW developers to learn how to do that, or even what equipment to buy or what service provider to contact to be able to do that. All those cool special economic districts in China and other similar type “hub cities” often have all these capabilities and more in short distance (as per the “WioTerminal” (double check that name) by SeeedStudios; their documentation and where they are based out of is amazing, showed their whole injection molding shop!). That knowhow may be more common in those areas or certain circles. A lot of that information + knowhow may not exist in other regions or in the maker community in general etc Thus i think it would support the maker movement/decentralized production model, by giving people this information, even if they don’t currently have/need the capability. For standards of what I’d consider the best in this regard, I’d probably say that “Wio Terminal” in terms of showing extremely technical stuff, and “Lumen PnP” (formerly IndexPNP free cease and desist lol) in terms of Video and Overall Documentation (just *Chef’s Kiss*, good shit)

@@SaHaRaSquad i do know better since you can go on ebay and buy a printer for 200 dollars and a fully set up one from creality ender 3 s1 i bought for 400 that does same things his does.. so yea there over priced meaning he dont give a shit and he claims research and dev um the code he uses is marlin its freeware you can thank the guys for making the freeware other wise no printers woulda been around no diy printers woulda started the industry yes us diyers started this industry making our own units with marlin then companies copied us took our ideas etc stole really.. and then you have these companies making fully ready machines which i cant complain about them too much they work outta the box etc and im greatful but when i see this guy ripping people off it ticks me off he still uses 3d printed parts for that 800 dollar machine come on injection moulded if creality and other companies can make sexy printers stream lined for far less you can too.. its only fan boys and people that never truly built their own printer from scratch and take 5 years to perfect their printers then find out companies stole this and made there own.. really gets under my skin and the fact on top of that the price this dude charges.. and fan boys like apple fan boys gush over it.. nothing is inovative any more we now have dlp resin printers guess who made them creality and chinese companies etc all for 500 bucks you can get one when they were what industry machines its because they arent greedy
