I think you're forgetting that during the PS4 generation.....it also started very slow and didn't pick until 4-5 year when horizon, gow and spiderman released. 2013-2016 only brought us Bloodborne, Uncharted 4, infamous second son and Ratchet and Clank.

I could not possibly agree more. I was honestly a lucky one. I got my PS5 just a couple of months after it released and it kinda just sat there. This isn't exactly because I hated the system but I went through 3 controllers in a matter of months due to horrific stick drift. So it sat there until I got my Steamdeck and decided to try remote play with it. Now I've played more PS5 through my steamdeck than I did directly through the console. The thing I find most disappointing is there has been pretty much no jump in quality from PS4 to PS5. I've played the PS4 version and PS5 version of the same game and while the PS5 looks better it's not the type of better that I expected when I prchased the console. PS5 is more or less the Pro PS4 Pro. lol The controller on the PS5 was really cool at first until I realized that almost no game was going to use most or any of the new features. It's also maddening that PS5 games which don't take advantage of any of those features will not work with a PS4 controller...unless you're playing remotely and then they work fine with a PS4 controller...WHAT?!?!

never got drift but on 2 controllers the L1 / R1 button would star sticking.

@@Zaftheguy I had two controllers initially and the first one had stick drift after about a month. I had it replaced with a new one and it lasted about 3 months before drift hit it. The second controller I bought initially has lasted the longest but even it has started to drift a bit. Not nearly as bad as the other two but bad enough to make playing anything with precise controls a nightmare.

I think one thing that I miss about consoles is the 'Plug and Play' mentality and the classic couch gaming sentimentality that while the current consoles can kinda sorta achieve, it's becoming more widely accepted that PC is starting to provide that, while also appealing to a wider audience outside the mainstream and published indie scope. Steam Deck is a fantastic portable device that bridges that gap nicely, and perhaps of all things, the Switch is the only console that feels like something that gamers want that isn't just about the generation hype or graphics. The PS5 and Series X could've had bigger traction had there been a bigger library of games that isn't just TripleAye exclusives, and perhaps an appeal to indie studios or lower budget games. But nope... We're past the point of the mid-PS4/One cycle and that's just not something we'll see from Sony or Microsoft anymore. The 7th Generation was the last console generation I valued in its entirety... I miss everything about those days

Here’s my issue, there aren’t enough interesting next gen games that have actively made me wanna use the PS5 as opposed to using something weaker like the steam deck. On my switch, almost every year I’ve bought a game that actually compelled me, coming from both first and third party. Meanwhile I haven’t bought ANYTHING for the PS5 within the past 3 years. But, I realize this is also totally dependent on my own play style and the convenience that I value when playing my games.

@@4Ph4ntom the ps5 ui has 2 home screens with no friends tab, trophies or notifications(like is has them but they are so hard to find) . when you press r1 now it takes you to media which is now a seperate thing. The quick menu isnt a thing either anymore. Ps4 ui was just better in every single way

@@hoodie_boi-fn5xv I’m having a hard time processing what you said. If you used the ps4 then adapting to the ps5 is not difficult. Separating media to its own tab is a good change. You can literally see your friends tab, trophies in the Explore square. The quick menu still exists and you can customize it if you want. The game base has friends, party, and messages. Notifications is literally next to game base and is indicated by a bell. This quick menu is literally shown to you when you first log in. The only thing that I agree with you is that you can’t even customize the background but honestly it doesn’t matter to me.

@@Zaftheguy it's definitely a great one. I actually played BG3's first act on it with great results. It took some time to load in the assets but after the game was pretty smooth. Although, I started using it for emulation as well and that opened a can of worms because I'm starting to buy retro consoles to cure my endless Steam backlog depression

Consoles have absolutely no value outside of Portability and Exclusivity. So far only Nintendo has both. Other than that, just build a PC and/or buy a PC handheld There's also not a lot of games on PS5. The games being developed take way too long to make bcuz as you said "Giant, realistic games that can only be played on over priced and over powered systems." Also, all the only good Sony "exclusives" are already on PC and/or coming to PC. Buying non-exclusives on anything that isn't a PC is a complete waste of money Then there's the PSN thing on PC. I'm pretty sure that turned a lot of people off from buying some random Sony console, if Sony games being on a platform that's superior in erry possible way didn't already Regardless, Sony and MS make bad consoles. They've been making the same console from the start. No innovation (apart from PSP/Vita). MS killed Xbox and Sony hasn't been relevant since PSVita. I hope the "PSP2" rumors are true. I want a new Sony handheld

first of all gta 6 ain't coming to pc for atleast 1 or 2 year and i think your wifi is at fault because i use ps5 cloud streming everyday and it work fine it pauses for like every 7 to 8 hours because of my wifi slowing down for few seconds and secound of all playstation is releasing old game on pc they arn't gonna release spiderman 2 they released the last game on pc to get people to buy a ps5 where is your god of war ragnorok only god of war came to pc and about your controller your batttery is dead or you don't charge it like you say or you can just trun of all the new feature you don,t like and get a better battery life my cntroler last like 9 to 10 hours without a charge with all the feature on Btw like yur content so i will sub

Like, if you wanna kill PC gaming, get aggressive with launchers and account linking BS I was joking about a dystopian future where all PS games would need their own launchers and that we'd need to link our Steam accounts to PSN or something. I hope to god they don't actually make launchers or mandate some random "PSN" thing
