Love this song so much... it's so joyous and tremendous and fills you with so much feeling and energy and yet also a little sad and nostalgic

What a blast of refreshing oxygen! This is the penultimate Furs song! Striking at the start and maintains the energy throughout its entirety. A gift beyond measure from the band I have loved since the early 1980s and been fortunate to see 4 times in Florida 😊

Still have this album in CD ❤️❤️❤️ this band is huge,all their albums are sublime. No voice like Richard Butler

Hands-down the best live band I’ve ever seen. I saw them on this tour in ‘91 (maybe early ‘92) at the Moore Theater in Seattle. I loved watching Richard Butler play tug-of-war with security while trying to pull fans on stage. Clearly they were there to make sure everyone had a great time. Entertainment at its finest!
@reuvenengberg1930 Жыл бұрын
I saw them in Chicago on the Book of Days tour. I hadn't seen them live since the Forever Now Tour at First Avenue in Minneapolis. Richard was incredible ; balancing on the monitors over the front on the stage. They opened with Dumb Waiters. Tim was like this ominous spectre at the front of stage right, Hair completely covering his face. Vince Ely was back on drums. What a solid show. Heaven stood out, as did Sister Europe, which was mezmerizing. The Bowie moves were out, just pure Richard Butler attitude. Oh, yeah, he lit a cigarette for Sister Europe. You couldn't take your eyes of him. Who says the Eighties were all bad?

I can't pull in all the stops But it rained on all of this With the sirens in my sleep And her sorrow at my kiss, I can't turn away Hold the half turn when you pray All the vanity and fate Written on her crazy face. Here in my head I here you say Here in my head I here you pray. Time is what it's made Made by all those I regret "remember me" I hear it said, Other faces I'd forget, Hope you get up off your feet; Shake the dust out of your shoes City lights and all my jazz And all my demonstrations too. Here in my head I here you say Here in my head I here you pray. Time is what it's made Made by others I regret Remember we are here and sad All the faces I'd forget. Here in my head I here you say Here in my head I here you pray Here in my head I here you say Here in my head I here you pray

I hear "I came pulling all the stops, putting rain on all of this" I think he's singing about his role as a singer songwriter, his themes. To a fan maybe. To you and me : p
@chrisriley30163 жыл бұрын
@@davids2254 Yes, that is the correct lyrics. But I actually felt the song to be about trying to start another relationship before you are completely done with a prior one.
