I lost my girlfriend to suicide in 2017. She was a beautiful blond and a way above average smart woman. She also had a hip disability, and couldn't get around without a cane. She had to take a lot of medicine to cope with the constant pain. During the eulogy, I read a few words asking her to let me know she was ok. About three months after her death, July 18, something happens. I had just finished a wonderful oil portrait of her. I left my apartment to spend the rest of the day downtown. I come back home around 10 p.m. with a newspaper under my arm. I enter my apartment, remove my shoes near the bed, switch on the bedside lamp, and lie down on my bed. It’s hot, windows are open. I start reading the newspaper by the light of my bedside lamp. And I am wearing shorts. While I am reading, I start to get overwhelmed by a wonderful feeling of peace. I am flooded with good vibes, wonderful energy. I had never felt peaceful since her passing. Actually, I was agonizing, day in, day out since her passing. I was riddled with guilt. Whatever I did, wherever I went, whoever I talked to, Kathy was always on my mind. I tell myself “It’s weird, I’m not feeling tormented, I can read a story from beginning to end without thinking about my girlfriend”. I mean, not the way I had been thinking about her for the past three months. I even lay down the newspaper and look around the room. I resume reading for another ten minutes or so. At one point, I raise my eyes from the newspaper and notice a shade dancing a few inches off the wall, at the corner of the ceiling and the small portion of the wall in front of me, where the new oil portrait of her is hanging, next to the window. It looks like a big mosquito. After all, it’s July. And it’s very hot. The window is open and the mosquito is going to fly out. I lose interest and keep reading. And the feeling of peace increases. I feel lighter and lighter. At some point, I even felt totally detached from what had happened (I was there when she killed herself). I am no longer part of the tragedy. All the negativity is gone. Maybe ten or fifteen minutes later, I raise my eyes again, wondering what the big mosquito is up to. It is still where I had seen it the first time. It is hovering, this time frantically, going back and forth, back and forth. I decide to go for a kill. I lay down my newspaper, sit on the edge of the bed, and while I am feeling the ground for my shoe, I keep an eye on the mosquito. I can’t find my shoe. The “mosquito” then flies along the window, to the back of the studio, turns right to fly parallel to the wall, then turns right again and flies straight at me. I can see it flying. I can see the wings flapping. It seems... a bit unnatural. And it lands on my forearm. It wasn’t a mosquito. It was a dragonfly. A magnificent dragonfly, clad in blue. And the wings. They are supposed to be translucid, right? But they were more cottons’ white! It stays still for a couple of seconds on my forearm. Then it flaps its wings and starts crawling towards my shoulder. I approach my finger. The dragonfly heads towards my finger, and as I think it is going to climb on my finger, it takes off. It flies away, straight ahead. And then I lose it. I am searching for it with my eyes, wondering how come I saw it flying all around the studio, and now I am losing it (actually, I figured out weeks later that it had just vanished in front of me). Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain on my right calf, as if something had bitten me. I still don’t get it. I get off the bed. As I am wondering if the dragonflies bite, pinch (or die after they bite or pinch) I turn on the big light, expecting to see a dead dragonfly near my bed. It took a few minutes to hit me, but it eventually did. Folklore says it is the spirit of the dead that come to pay you a visit to tell you that where ever they are, they are fine, they are free. And a year earlier, we had watched a movie called Dragonfly with Kevin Costner: it is the story of a doctor whose wife has disappeared in South America in an accident. As nobody can find the body, months later she is declared legally dead. But the husband doesn’t believe she is dead, because he keeps receiving - or seeing - messages with the dragonfly symbolism. Kathy had found the movie silly. The pinch on my calf? Despite her hip problem, I was able to get her out. Even getting dressed for her could be difficult. Once, in summer, we took the bus to go to the beach. I was wearing shorts. Kathy sat in front of me. When the bus started moving, that afternoon, I looked out the window a little too long for her taste. She leant forward and pinched my calf. When I turned my head to her, she said: “Hey, I’m here”. I knew it was her. Oh boy! I was ecstatic! The guilt was gone! And I believe God allows the departed to give this kind of message. Which is very comforting, because it was a suicide - and suicide is not cool, and if one is religious, it means that it is not cool at all and that you end up in a place nobody wants to be. I think God is constantly watching. All the time. That day, I think she told me to move on, that it wasn’t my fault. And I thank her for that. The next day, I called my ex- girlfriend, and told her what had happened the previous night. Out of joy, she burst out laughing, and said: “You see, not only was she gorgeous, but boy she was smart!” A couple of years later, a colleague of mine tells me that his wife had been in high school with Kathy. He asks me if I would like to have lunch with them so I could ask her questions about Kathy. I agree. During lunch, she tells me that after graduation, they parted ways. And then she says that years later, she ran across her downtown. Kathy was walking out of shop, clad in a magnificent blue outfit and that her blond hair looked striking. I immediately thought about the dragonfly. Swear to God: true story.

Dear Georges, I read your comment from beginning to end and I am so sorry about your girlfriend, Kathy, she sounded so beautiful inside and out. Firstly, I must say how kind of Kathy’s friends to invite you to lunch to talk about/let you ask questions about her! Some people may say it’s just a coincidence, that that stuff happens regardless. But I truly believe it is Kathy as the dragonfly , which I also believe are “signs from Heaven.” But just how this video talks about “synchronicities.” Sometimes there are just too many “synchronicities” to only be merely “coincidences.” Godspeed ❤

I, too, read your whole beautiful comment. I recently read that suicide is NOT the unpardonable sin. (Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is.) And it is just like any other sin that Jesus died on the cross for - past, present and future - so that we are forgiven if you believe in Him. 1Corinthians 15:1-4.

Never experienced anything paranormal, didn't see any ghosts, objects moving by themselves, etc. But there was one dream I had many years ago that I just cannot understand or explain rationally. It was about a person I used to work with, I didn't know him well as we were working in different departments. So one night I had a very strange vague dream about this person. The next day when I went to work I found out this person commited suicide! Never had a dream about him before or after just that one night when he died! To this day sends shivers down my spine when think about it!

I pray and bless my home and my loved ones every night before my head hits the pillow. So many people think it's silly until they have seen. Fascinating! In my country, the Mongolian/Siberian shaman way (Tengrism), we believe that humans have three souls." the suld, which lives in nature after death; the ami, which reincarnates; and the suns, which also reincarnates. The suld is vital for life; its separation means death. The ami and suns can leave the body temporarily without causing harm. And there's a whole lot of stuff involving the ancestors' spirits talking through the shaman, but that's another story.

About 120 went , after about an hour trying to convince them ,some had fear . I went back Months later and the rest went ,but 3 still Feared ! I want people to know that fear is not the way. Be comfortable and accepting to the phenomena. And do well for yourself. Heightened awareness used to seem like a curse but with proper adjusting, it should be seen as a gift. People are not ready to hear about it in casual conversation. Only the most trusted should hear about it.

Once I was alone in a room. I "heard" someone asking my name. Then to my left there was an humanoid "impossible" shadow, for it was right below in the wall of the only window (source of light) in the room, and there were no mirrors. I got terrified of this, and while trying to understand, it shaked it's hand as saying Hi. I grabbed my phone's flashlight to aim it at the shadow, and then it ran through the room's corners to me. A cold air went over me, I just ran from the house, never went again after several months and accompanied. This was my most paranormal experience, for it lasted some time, so that I had time to think about it as it happened.

My mother was very sick with kidney cancer and I would pray everyday, day and night while crying my eyes out. When we were told there was nothing else to do and seeing my mom in bad shape I started to pray to God to take her but to let me know she was going to heaven, to let me know somehow she was going to be ok. One day about 2-3 weeks before she passed away me, my brother, my son, and one of my cousin where outside just talking as people where inside my home visiting mom for the last time. We where just talking random things and me and my brother looked up and we saw a misty vapor shaped like an angel that looked like it flew out of the clouds stopped for a second looking at our direction and then flew up and disappeared into the clear sky. That was the sign I needed, so I share the same opinion as Carl Jung “I don’t believe, I know”. Thats my answer when people ask if I believe in God.

Whoa I just left my skeleton story and scrolled and saw yours. Maybe we are skeletal apparition twin flames or something 😂 I'll copy and paste my very real and terrifying story: I don't talk about it bc I sound crazy but I'll keep the story short: about 32 years ago, I was walking down a dimly lit hallway in my Uncles home. My family was in the living room watching Hulk Hogan match on one of those Pay Per View events. I'll never forget it. I didn't know this at the time, but I guess everyone besides me knew this place was haunted. So anyways I saw a glowing neon-green skeleton materialize in front of me. The fear and adrenaline was so intense that it's embeded in every fiber of my being. Even typing this now I feel scared. As quick as it came it left just as quick. I watched it dematerialize in front of me like time was being rewound. And no, before anyone asks, it wasn't Halloween decor and no one including myself, could find a logical explanation. I think about it all of the time and I'll forever associate Hulk Hogan with green skeletons for the rest of my life. There are other stories from this house but I'll leave it at that. I already sound like I'm telling you a tale from a Goosebump novel so I'm done here. But idc what anyone says I know what I saw and felt.

DUDE SAME. When I was 6, I was taking a shower during a thunderstorm. In my shower, there was a.. blurry window, and I often would look out of this window as I showered before this happened. I was staring out of the window as usual, but I began to feel an anxiety that something was out there. I don't know why but my eyes were locked to the window due to this fear instead of turning away or getting out of the shower. The lightning had a rhythmic nature to it. About every 10 seconds there was a new flash. The anxiety started, and about 2 minutes later, a flash illuminated a fleshy, half rotten skeleton bent over to get a closer view of me. I made eye contact with its eye sockets. I saw its bare teeth. I saw its cheeks hanging and its matted, decayed hair just barely exposed off of the right of its neck. I was terrified. It was looking right at me with intent. But the flash only filled the sky for a second or 2 and it disappeared into the night. I ducked down, turned the shower off, and informed my dad, but by that point the skeleton/zombie thing was long gone from that window. It will never leave my memory, though.

I saw a skeletal looking man in my room when I was about 9. He wasn't completely skeleton but he looked so gaunt it was like he was a skeleton. He was wearing a black suit and was smiling at me. I had a sense it was my grandad who had passed. I didn't have a close relationship with him though. It may have been him visiting but it could have been just a ghost of someone else. Around the same time my younger sister saw the same thing in her room. My mum also heard footsteps on the floor outside her room and the door opened on its own. She was petrified. A lot of strange creepy things happened in that house and it felt like the activities centered in my room for a while. I saw lights flash in my room like lightning as well. Bangs, knocks, horrible feeling of being watched. Later downstairs when had a friend stay we heard a groan and screamed. Then the bookshelf fell down. I 10000% believe in paranormal.

Trying to rationalize these strange experiences I have had throughout my life. For me the most profound truth from the video is this: Rationalism and superstition are complimentary. We see this more and more everyday. The more we try to nail down our myths, the more they elude us. The more we try to get to the bottom of something, the deeper and deeper we fall.

Matters of religion and the paranormal cannot be approached in a lukewarm, blasé manner. They require a heightened emotional state for a real experience to occur. Hence the traditional emphasis on fasting, keeping vigil (going without sleep), abstinence, prayer, concentration, and other forms of ascetic discipline. When the body and attention are sufficiently stressed, the emotional state required for experience is made possible.

That's not really what's going on here in the video. True, depriving your mind of health will cause hallucinations and leave you weak and defenseless, but these are the direct result of the goal of hallucinating set upon by the conscious mind. Tbh kind of lame.

Or maybe the heightened, tired state IS the experience-brought on by natural processes in the body as it tries to deal with hunger, tiredness, and a high amount of emotion. Either we access an unconscious ability or sense; or we hallucinate. Or maybe both.

I went through a period of time where light bulbs sometimes burned out when I was near them, or even shattered. Also had streetlights turn off. One night I was jogging and when my foot touched the next street I was to turn onto, all of its lights went out. As I passed under the first few they lit as I went under them, one by one. Then the street lit up. It happened often and was observed by others with me. This lasted for about two years. Also had this experience as a young man that I have posted elsewhere, so this is a copy paste: I was about 16 living in my mothers house. In the late morning I was cooking fried eggs on an electric range, in a teflon coated pan,with a spatula with a plastic base and plastic handle attached to a straight, flat steel body. I tuned off the stove, put the eggs on a plate, put the spatula on the pan, put the pan on an unheated burner, and turned to the fridge for ketchup. In about 5 seconds I had the ketchup and had turned around to face the stove. In that interval, the metal body of the spatula deformed severely to follow the surface it was on. Flat in the pan, following up the curve, then down sharp to meet the stovetop, then straight across. Like a clock in a Dali painting. It was not hot. Nothing else happened then and eventually, when I recovered myself, I bent it back into a useable shape and put it in the drawer. I was sober, in sound mind, and it was a sunny morning.

When i was 6 or 7 years old, I experienced something unexplainable. The night when my grandpa died, me and my parent's were watching in the living room when suddenly a dog suddenly appeared at the window and was scratching the window with his head. I saw it directly as i was at the front of the window sitting. I knew it wasn't our dog since it was tied up and had collar. It was a black dog. The next day, i found out my grandpa died. My cousin, who looked and acted exactly like him, had a fever that night my grandpa died. I also have a dream about my grandpa, He just passed at me and did nothing and walked to the living room. But when we went to his house for his funeral. I saw the exact same shirt he wore in my dream. The shirt was being packed in a travelcase to be buried with him.

“In European folklore, black dogs were often associated with death” I also had a similar experience, when I was around 5 or 6 years old. I can't recall if it was a dream or a memory but I remember seeing a black dog wandering in a forest behind our house. A day later our dog passed away and got buried in that same place where I saw the black dog

Reminds me of how more than a few times I would be driving by someone in passing and say to myself "wow that girl looked like Jessica from middle school." Or "Yo, that dude looks just like that weird kid who sat behind me in history class!" I would think about how I haven't seen said person since school days. But later I would realized I was wrong about the sighting when I was eventually standing in front of "the real them" randomly within a day (or in at least one case, hours.) Of course I wanted to say "This is weird I thought I saw you yesterday and now you're in front of me!" But I didn't bc the coincidence in-and-of itself was just too far-fetched that it sounded like complete BS; so unexplainably random that it felt uncomfortable saying it aloud. It wouldn't happen with just people, either. I would think about an item I had years ago and suddenly see it online or at someone's house. An item that I almost forgot I ever even had. Things like that. Weird "coincidences" being some universal synchronization is a pretty cool explanation, because I've never been able to come up with any reasonable one in those situations.

I don't talk about it bc I sound crazy but I'll keep the story short: about 32 years ago, I was walking down a dimly lit hallway in my Uncles home.

The most paranormal thing I've ever experienced was when I was about 15 and living in my grandparents' old house. It was early in the morning before either of my grandparents were awake, and I went to the restroom to get ready for the day before everyone got up. In the mirror, I saw a man standing outside the bathroom dressed in a beige suit with a large mustache looking at me with a smile. I didn't feel afraid, but I was shocked. When I turned around, he was not there, and I went to investigate out in the dining room. When I brought this up to my grandma, she took me to a photo she had framed amid the cluttered cottage style decorations. It was a photo of her mom and dad. There he was in the photo, the same mustache and suit. I didn't see him ever again, and I don't even know his name.

Mom got nervous and fear and quickly went into the house, inmediatly she turned the radio and tv on. I was totally confused, few minutes later dad came home and mom told him everything that had happened. Dad was a very patience person and he asked me who did you see?? I replied : aunt Nico....my aunt had died just a few days before... I'll never forget that little smile on her face and that inusual light around her, that morning was very sunny and beautiful and sure I was a little girl but I know that light was not normal. 🙂❤️

I think the thing we believe is the spirit is the sense of an "us" that goes deeper than even subconsciousness. It goes beyond instinct, to the place where instinct was becoming hard-earned knowledge. From a time predating the world we know today, where our ancestors were monsters amongst even greater monsters. Our minds today can hardly comprehend such prehistoric memory, but is haunted by its truth.

I respected thier right to believe in such things if it made them happy and stable, giving them structure. But I could not bring myself to fully invest in the immaterial realm. As time went on I found myself wanting to believe for comfort and intrigue by that's all it truly was. Us humans love to self-mythologise. It blunts the edge of the innate fear of death that comes with our consiousness.

I too was born, and raised Catholic. I went through similar things. I considered myself a realist, and believed science was the answer to most questions. As I got older, I had paranormal things happen around me, but I always found rational explanations for them. The ones that I could not explain were voices that I heard clearly in my ear. As if the entity was behind me whispering. I thought maybe I was schizophrenic, which frightened me, until I caught the voice (unintentionally) on video. It's clear as day, and I only heard it, because I rewatched it before I was going to delete it. Since then, my worldview has changed. Also, a lot of physicists I like, believe in the God of the Bible, so that led me down a rabbit hole of science proving the existence of the unseen.

Every time I watch a video of Eternalized’, I experience the end of a synchronicity whether it be in a dream or an instance of Deja Vu. One example being: three weeks ago I myself had a dream of Philemon with wings flying away from a remote island and landing on the shoreline of another. There was a storm raging and a large forest. And only for a moment while flight took place did I see through his perspective and feel myself actually soaring through the air. And as soon as I landed I was thrown away as he turned his back to me and I woke up. The weirdest thing about this is I had no idea who Philemon was nor had I ever in my life read the name until I watched this video today. Such a strange space and place to be in.

Things that are beyond any scientific materialist (dogmatic) explanations. I've also read heavily into near death experiences, terminal lucidity, ADC etc etc for over 10 years. Well it might have something to do with 1,500 years of Christianity redefining paranormal experiences as demonic and people then not sharing or discussing it for fear of being labeled crazy or worse. Not to be overly critical of the Christian religion but it's hard to deny that aspect. And now we've had a decade of ghost hunter shows where they drag all their special equipment to some haunted hot spot and ask for a sign and then shriek like children when someone off camera knocks on a wall. lol

Can't say I've ever seen anything paranormal but I've experienced what I will call inexplicable episodes of joyous and undeniable certainty about something happening in my life at the time. None of these involved substance use of any sort or happened before, after, or during any deliberate effort on my part to experience an "event". They just "dropped" on me usually at times of challenge. I haven't had many of these episodes but I look forward to them should they ever choose to occur again.

I used to be hyper rational. I studied science in college and was one of those that scoffed at the esoteric and the magical. As I grew older and more mature and reading works by Jung et all I started realizing how the veneer of rationality was just a veneer, the real world is always one step beyond logic.

When I was in the 2nd grade I have a distinct memory of seeing a small malevolent entity black as night curled up in fetal position in the corner of my dad’s living room. I saw this and jumped back, heart racing, scared to death, once I looked back it was gone. 15 years later I told my dad about this and he told me he had been praying to satan in that exact room.

I did amateur paranormal investigating when I was in college. I have three takeaways. 1. The stupidity and ignorance of the average person ruins everything. Investigate by yourself or with heavily competent people. 2. Ghosts are not what we think they are. 3. I have far more questions than answers. I still don't know what death is. It may be different for every person.

There is something to be said about our dopamine. If one is under extreme stress or has a psychological condition, they may have unusual dopamine responses. There are instances of dopamine randomly firing when no real object in the world occurs. This misfiring often confuses the contextually driven brain which leads to the inappropriate assignment of what is happening externally vis-a-vis internal representations. For example, the basic premise of psychosis is that it is created by abnormal dopamine release which cascades into errors in prediction and this surprise leads to delusions of significance where someone who's psychotic will often believe it's some cosmic message or a spirit. The brain tries to produce hypotheses that will explain all these prediction errors. This is why many people with Cluster A personality disorders will often attribute two coincidental events as interrelated as the brain is trying to account for the misfiring. Of course, you could just be seeing ghosts 😁

@ChaosReigns45
@ChaosReigns45 6 ай бұрын
This sounds like dogmatic psychatric abstract theory hocus pocus, there's no proof for what you're saying. Your pov and reasoning can be countered quite easily because of this. Neuroscience only showcases the result of the brain structure, not the reasons why consciousness perceives what it perceives the way it does because of a ''abnormal dopamine release'' which happens for an unknown reason. That's why psychiatry is stale and not evolving, they're trying to reduce consciousness to a materialistic supposed pathological existence. It's obvious that there is a fair connection of consciousness and brain synergy, but it doesn't seem to revolve around what you're trying to insinuate and psychiatry is trying to establish. An antipsychotic won't change my personality and beliefs lol. Your lack of critical thinking will make you gullible into swallowing all sorts of drugs which even psychiatrists don't really know how they work. The ''chemical imbalance'' theory has been debunked for decades.

@@ChaosReigns45 Quick google searches tells me that the The dopamine hypothesis has been the main theory regarding the matter for the past 30 years, so if it really has been debunked, please send me sources. You cannot talk of debunking while speaking of stale studies. If it has been debunked then it is not stale. This paradox alone showcases "lack of critical thinking" unless of course you have other fields to draw from? There is something to be said about assuming the thinking skills of another while at the same time completely strawmanning, as I never mentioned drugs nor its effects on your personality. I am talking about you personally, so I am not sure why your personality is in anyway relevant?
