Thank you! I’ve seen many plumbers used this all the time. Spent 1/4 price to clear choke for a 5min job. 😅 Doing it gently is the key than using hard force causing the rubber got stuck initially.

Wouldn't you break the drain pipe by continuously pushing that thing down with hard force?
@chloeoki7151
@chloeoki7151 Жыл бұрын
I followed the tip and used a metal pipe instead of plunger. Managed to remove 2 big balls of claylike scum. Already hit the bottom of drain but water still not draining well. I think there is more of the soft solid stuck which I could not reach . Nevertheless , it is a good tip when the clog still is not that bad. Thank you.
@ThePunggolHandyMan
@ThePunggolHandyMan Жыл бұрын
You need the rubber disc which will force water through the pipes and push the clog away. The stick only breaks the crust on top but there is more further down

With further physical action and hot water, there is improvement. Tried the other tip of low water pressure in toilet basin tap . After removing the small rubber o ring, the flow is much better but have to mindful on not wasting water .👍

Very informative tutorial. What if the contractor built the cabinet to have a small gap between the floor and the bottom of cabinet, and the only access is through that tiny gap under the cabinet? Did someone invent a tool for this scenario? Would appreciate your advice!
@ThePunggolHandyMan
@ThePunggolHandyMan 2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately you would have to cut the bottom of the cabinet to access this area. You can get away with a hole saw or a reciprocating saw

@@ThePunggolHandyMan what a daunting task lol. I’ll try the old fashioned way first, using my hand and a scoop. If that doesn’t work maybe I’ll just call the pros. I’d prefer not to deal with desecrating the old cabinet.

I do not suggest to use the plunger to force the FOG waste, ie Fat, Oil and Grase, down the drain pipe. The FOG is oil base and will float. It will also solidify and will not flow with the water down the drain. What could happen when you force the FOG down, is that it may breaks up and gets stuck at the S-section of the drain pipe which you cannot reach, though it may let some water pass. With this, you cannot pressurised the water in the pipe with the plunger anymore to move the FOG. With time, more FOG will build up at this point and it will not be easy to DIY without having the proper tools, like the declogging machine. To avoid this, it is more effective to scoop up the FOG with a ladle or bent spoon tied to a rod. Sometime, the FOG may get into the drain pipe from the sink. If this happened, you can insert a water hose with running water from the large pipe into this small pipe to physically break (by moving the hose in and out) and flush the FOG into the larger pipe for removal. Just my 2 cents.

Hi, what if my neighbour downstairs complain about the loud noise? I ever heard my upstairs pipe kept on pushing (not sure what plunger they use) the U pipe. It was so annoying and took a long time before they quieten down.

Thanks a lot for the demo. Really appreciate it 😇 Liked and subbed. I managed to follow the steps and unclogged the pipe. However I dropped the small plastic floor trap filter into the pipe while trying to put it back. Should I be worried? Will it cost more chokes in the future or are the pipes big enough for the filter to drain down to the sewers?
@ThePunggolHandyMan

Yes it will trap more dirt and cause a clog! Try to use long tongs or a hook to pull it out. Or if your hand is skinny enough, reach in

I mean sewer gasses. Mold. Bacteria in drains. you don't know what you are breathing in as you open that hatch. I can understand the apprehension and stigma around wearing a mask during the COVID-19 pandemic, however dont let that cause you to avoid wearing a mask in situations that actually require it. It's still personal choice and safety.
