The teething i really important, they will teach eachother when they have gone too far. If they are older this will become SUPER important , if they are not teached how to properly play as a puppy and learn how to teeth when they are small. They can see biting as a play when they are older. So please let them teeth eachother, cause this will teach them when skmething will hurt the other. Look it up, go to a vet, get more info, because this is REALLY important

@@13LondonCalling a mother can't wean her pups without food already being fed to them. Otherwise she's starving her pups until you say "oh look, no more nursing, time for food". The overwhelming majority of cases of mastitis is from outside infection. The times when it is from having too much milk in her nipples and ducts are from suddenly making the change, not regularly weaning the puppies.

Are they 3 or 4 weeks yet because they can start wet food. If you buy dry food for the other dogs you can put water on it and microwave it for about a minute or till soft.

And she can’t exactly provide them with other food so if he doesn’t start, she would have to continue to feed them milk in pain or she would stop and they would starve. Weaning then off moms milk is a part of taking care of puppies

Mama will definitely know when to cut nursing usually without intervention, but wet, or soft dry, should be good for them as they wean, I think that's what they meant :) Just don't stop from nursing cold turkey, pup owners! Mom will wean and they're almost three weeks so just about that time

Sorry im a bit late but, let them fight because if they don't learn that biting hurts people, then when they grow older they will bite and it will be much harder to teach them not to (edit): plus, most of the fighting is play fighting. Explanation: when they bite their brothers/sister then when they hear the whimpers or barks of pain, they will learn not to bite.

13LondonCalling weaning actually begins at about 3-4 weeks and usually ends around 8 weeks. All depends though because My pup was done weaning at 6 weeks. So basically between 6-8 weeks is when they are completely weaned.

If you don't provide the puppies with other food to fill them up then the demand of milk stays the same, which means the mother will continue producing the same amount of milk instead of gradually drying up. No one is saying don't let the mother nurse anymore and make the puppies only eat food from now on. _That's_ how mastitis from overproducing milk happens. Mastitis is way more likely to happen if she gets a bacterial infection from the puppies' teeth or nails scratching her skin or from other dirty surroundings. The dog relies on humans for her own food. A mother can't take her own dog food to her puppies to introduce it on her own terms like she would with prey. Puppies need human help for weaning unless you're keeping the mother's food in the pen. It's introduced, and then slowly the puppies eat more food and less milk. Slowly the mother's milk will dry up. Don't spread bullshit on the internet.

Hannah Hyde only issue with that is they aren’t vaccinated yet. Any tiny thing can hurt them- giardhea is simply caused by bacteria, rain water, grass, anything.
