Team is much better than last year as far as playing late in season.Last year Smith Loyer faded, this year not so. Lanc e has been a special addition which makes guard play better than last year. Newman was for what ever reason kicked to the side of the road.

When you're in the media business you pretty much have to play all sides, it's the nature of the business. Great example is Hummel and Bardo before the game letting the other praise their alma mater instead of doing it themselves and then AFTER the game they themselves were able to do it, it's very common. Purdue fans were blaming Hummel saying there was a curse when he announced Purdue games but in reality he was doing the big games and Purdue wasn't showing up, nothing to do with Hummel period.

Both of these teams have an insane offense, with Illinois I would argue still with the slight edge, but its clear the difference maker of this game was the defence, which Perdue was just able to do better
