The Pyramid - Best Winner's Circle Win (Sept. 12, 2012)

The Pyramid did not have a lot of standout performances in the Winner's Circle, but Grey's Anatomy's Chandra Wilson and her partner put up a great time when they played.

Part of what made the original show so wonderful was the emotion and drama of a win. The music, the families running up, people hugging. It went on for for a bit. This robs us of participating emotionally.

Outside of saying the word, you can essentially say anything you want in a “why” box. It’s fine.

@@thechadmosher In the 80s version of the show, that definitely would have gotten buzzed. The judges became more lenient in the 2000s+.

If this version went back to the 80s format and had returning champions (who, unlike the 80s incarnations, could stay for as many episodes until defeated) and this incarnation was taped at Sony Pictures Studios instead of the much-cheaper CBS Studio Center, then The (GSN) Pyramid would've been a hit!

I saw some of these shows. NOTHING could have made this version a hit; it was awful. The "stars" were simply no good. The contestants looked like they were sent over from Central Casting. Mike Richards was awful. It was just a low-cost knock-off that should have never hit the air. Dick Clark and Bob Stewart must have been turning over in their graves.

What I love about this is the audience didn't clap during...that used to munch time and concentration I believe on the old Pyramid.

Man, this version of the Pyramid was AWFUL. The host is like a poor imitator of Dick Clark. I hope when Pyramid is back on ABC, they make it RIGHT.

I like the music in the front game better than the ticking of the clock on this show. At least they keep that old clock flute sound on this Pyramid. They did sweeten it...and glad they did not climax like one suggested on a youtube video

@@thechadmosher is correct. That rule is old school, although back in the day it was usually stated as "Avoid being descriptive". A prepositional phrase is almost descriptive. @timtya is also correct. Phrases that are common idioms were exceptions to the rule. "A glass of water", "a book of matches", and the like.

I liked this version it was good was it great no it was decent by Gsn standards beat the hell out of Donny osmonds version especially in winners circle where you pretty much had to say the whole thing in the box to get credit for it, I kinda like you get a bonus for 7/7 + it adds money to the winners circle chance so each could play for 25k mike R out of host yeah he is the worst by far!!

I wish they would just give you a bonus of $1,000 if you get any 7 of 7 in any round except the Mystery 7 where you get the trip. That way a contestant is guaranteed to leave with something. If one contestant wins both Winner's Circles and the other doesn't win the trip, he/she leaves with nothing. That was one thing the GSN Pyramid did right, it was hard for a contestant to leave with nothing.

This was one of the most boring iterations of the pyramid. They had the style down but it didn't capture the drama and intensity that Dick Clark put into the show. The Michael Streahan version got close but the not enough to really get you excited like the old skool ones.

@DisneyLivesForever11 GSN did screwed up some classic game shows indeed. I know on Whammy! The All New Press Your luck, there were too prizes on the board. More contestants were winning those than the cash.
