I’m not sure if you are even familiar with Diesel punk or steam punk fiction where these advanced techs are integrated in 19th and 20th century. Also Phlogiston has been repeatedly spoon fed to us to be the source of these Natlan energy. Phlogiston + Khaenri’ah’s tech designs. i have to agree that natlan characters put me off in the one regard that they have such extremely modern elements to them, xilonen being a dj which has nothing to do with her character or job? You guys do realize that Teyvat used to be extremely Technologically Advanced before the War and it was destroyed. Mavuika literally came from 500 years ago and the Natlan characters are using Knowledge & Weapons of Ancient Heroes of the Past. Scaramoushe was inside a Giant Gundam, The Traveler was inside a Giant Robot, the people of Sumeru were not using any Mechs but a Motorcycle & a Flying Gun is Crazy???

​​​@@OmenLamb As OP mentioned, the issue is not that these things exist. It's just that these things exist ONLY for playable characters inside their kit and not in the story otherwise at all. Like, c'mon, they should have shown Mauvika riding on her bike while fighting Capitano if that's seriously how she fights. Let Xilonen be a DJ and make that part of the story, I reckon that less people are going to complain if these things are integrated in the world and explained through the story/lore rather than just putting in their kit randomly.

The weapons they have are from Ancient Technology, they have Ancient Heroes inside their head, their Weapons are Ancient Weapons. Why does she have to DJ? Did Chloride & Chev need to be a Gunsmiths to explain them having guns? Did Scaramoushe have to be a Scientist & Mechanic to explain him riding a Gundam? The Raiden Shogun created two Super AI Puppets more Technology Advanced that ANYTHING IN TEYVAT but looks at Inazuma.

I agree with everyone's explanation why motorbike in Teyvat is okay, but it looks so bad. How every other archon can be so simple and cool, but Mauvika needs that silly motorbike :D ... she was so much better in cutscenes.. I don't want to ride bike everytime I have to fight..

While I understand most people's problem with the motorcycle because it doesn't seem normal with the culture and tech of Tevyat, and I get that but I love the new trend of Genshin actually giving characters new weapons since Fontaine. Wriothesley has Gauntlets, Neuvi has Hydro Pump(and a cane), Navia has a shotgun umbrella, Chlorinde has a Pistollette and Sword, Mualani has an inflatable shark, Kinich has an 8 bit dragon cannon, and Chasca has a flying gun. I for one am stoked about seeing something unique, because Genshin's formula is getting repetetive for the entire gameplay loop, so the characters being new is very exciting.

But Fontaine characters meet the aesthetics of steampunk style with the city itself, where Natlan as major cities are made of clay but they have 8-bit dragon, a flying shotgun and a motorbike, Mualani and Kachina are way better and fit NATLAN but after that...genshin trying way too hard After WUWA movement system Genshin is pushing it so hard that it is FORCED, in Genshin explorer characters were unique but now every natlan characters have implemented in them.

its not Exiting in general, its exiting for you ,ugly and out of place for me... And im not talking about characters having "alternative" weapons, but ugly huge out of place shit. Look at Maulani, perfecly fine, in tune fantasy oriented, same with Kinich, kachina same, Xilonen.. trash, using a moden DJ console.. rollerblade? -.- same with chaska, ugly as hell, way too big, way too flashy, it makes all other characters look like inferior shit, that its not really nice, and mavuika follow the same principle its not like she has a "in theme" bike, made of stone fantasy etc.. she has a fucking 2024 sport bike model WITH modern style helmet, its just out of place. Looking good? sure they look cool as fuck , just NOT in this game tho. In star rail would be ok, in wuwa too.. we player for 4 years, with "magical/medieval" weapons and magic style.. and now all of a sudden MODERN WORLD shit? No that's just ugly.

I can accept it lore-wise, but just find the animation to be janky and silly looking. Past characters generally have more smoothe and fluid burst animations, but Mauvika’s motorcycle boisterously jumps across the screen. Instead of an elegant goddess performing some cool movement, her animation is simply jarring, imo. I was saving for her for almost a year, but now plan on skipping her because of how little I like her animations 😅

Fun fact, motorcycles already exist in genshin lore, created by Cloud Retainer and powered by adepti energy, it makes sense that a bike powered by flogiston would work since for technological devices shows to work amazingly (just look at Xilonen). There would be more vehicles outside Natlan, but flogiston doesn’t last longo outside of that land.

Very good points and connection back to Cloud Retainer, great reminder about technological capabilities (yet as others raised, while some things may be in lore, they are not evident or have not been realized so its difficult to truly claim these as genuinely existing except in say the theoretical diagrams of Xianyun) I think many of use who have criticisms about the bike perhaps fall into either one or both of these categories (but not wishing to speak for everyone so maybe people have other reasons too): First, 1) preference in aesthetics and/or disappointment in expectations, which is our own biases and hopes that we need to contend with. Second, but primarily a complaint I see constantly dismissed and invalidated which does not seem fair and I believe this is a warranted critique of the game direction/developmental execution of it on a conceptual basis: 2) those who are critiquing the technology acceleration, at least to me, are not denying that there are technological aspects or advancements throughout Teyvat (i.e., Fontaine is the epitome of this fact yet most do not hold such disdain for the technology at play, in large part due to its seamless integration with the theme and consistency throughout the experience of the entire region) but rather it is a critique specifically to Natlan as the technology integration is not on par in a logically consistent manner, is far too subtle/underdeveloped, or at least could and should have been more incorporated throughout the Tribes (i.e., anthropological observations in customs, tools, ways of life, architecture, etc surmising largely of stone/wood tools, decor, huts, etc that denote the technological stage of the region, which does not match the simultaneous existence of say Kinich's digital dynamics, Chasca's gigantic and bizarre gun design, Xilonen's rave/disco components, and of course, the lady of the hour, Mavuika's highly modern motorcycle). Phlogiston exists and there are some technological devices even in Natlan (more of the remnants of the former dragon age) but it is largely absent and not visible in the daily lives of the Tribespeople and the stage is very nearly preindustrial at scale to such a degree that it makes such components hard to believe as natural instead of viewing it as an immersion breaking, non-cohesive distraction. But that's my perspective on the matter, sorry I got going, a bit longer than intended! Perhaps worthwhile to consider? I for one have my complaints largely due to the issues raised above but my argument isn't claiming that there is no technology in Teyvet, its these other integrations that make this new modern direction feel like it clashes with the essence of Genshin. Thank you for your distinction though regarding Liyue and the adepti specifically and hope this was at least an interesting/well received response!

We have had no vehicles in Genshin. Meanwhile the climax of Fontaine happened complete with submersible flying boat.Given that, what is the problem with a flying gun or motorcycle? from what i saw from the chinese leaks they're saying it would be around 25%-50% damage bonus. not 100%. and it will be a sliding scale based on how many nightsoul points you spend up to 200. she can burn up 110 all by herself. meaning xilonen who can burn 90 in about 2 seconds of field time will be wedded to her hip. the problem is the pyro archon is apparently an attack scaler. meaning she's fucking wedded to bennett too. no clue if her off field dps will snapshot or not. but it's looking like her best team will be bennett, furina, xilonen. so this doesn't sound like a "game changer". i'd personally prefer it if you could at least replace bennett on teams with her. but with her damage effect tied to nightsoul points spent, they've pigeonholed her into the current meta, not created a new meta. her best support team will probably be mualani, furina and xilonen. i love her design. but... the rumors don't look amazing. i hope they rework her.

Her burst and skill has the highest multiplier in the whole game more than Neuvillette's CA and Mualani's Burst who had the most multiplier before. And getting her full buff Is not that hard and i highly doubt u need both Bennet and Furina with her. I think her BIS team will be Mavuika Xilonen Citlali and Bennet becoz the damage bonus she provides will be enough to ignore Furina in her teams. She needs to be nerf or she'll be a game changer better than any Pyro dps's in the game. Another Neuvillette case.

Yes and no. Ruin guards pretty widespread across all Teyvat, bcs it's technology of dead long ago civilization. But motorcycle is only one, if let's say flying cars and motorcycles was very common in Natlan it wouldn't look so out of place, but instead Natlan ppl riding dinosaurs and only "choosen" circle of a few ppl riding futuristic devices/vehicles. 😅 Imagine this situation irl: all city rides horses and only mayor on the Lamborghini 🤣

Totally right. When we arrived Sumeru we saw those giant Ruin Guards bloated with actual computers in the inside. In fact, what we saw about Kaenri'ah was pretty advanced technology... Not to mention the Akasha terminal that someone has already pointed here that is basically Internet (or Sumeru's intranet if you prefer) for conecting to a State manipulated encyclopaedia which made for an insane futuristic ciberpunk dystopia theme for a big part of the Archon Quest on Sumeru, on Genshin. In the end, I think that Genshin scriptwriters are really good at mixing things and put ideas that at first glance should not be there just for the looks.

When you do a comparison between c6 Xiangling and c0 Mavuika Mavuika skill have a 15s cd and applies pyro six time once every 2s after you cast her skill and before her nightsould pts is consumed and has 3s uptime. While Xiangling’s pyronado applies pyro once every 1s-0.5s for 14s and has 6s uptime If both is compared in the span of 20s which by then Mavuika could recast her skill. Pyronado still deals more dmg then Mavuika skills depending on how you maneuver the Pyronado Mavuika passive which give 50% dmg bonus has a normal multiplier so its basically the same as Baizhu passive multiplier. It does not give a lot of dmg bonus then you expected The only reason why Mavuika support role is better then Xiangling is because of the Hero Cinder City set.

I have a pretty open mind plus I'm a huge anime guy so seeing characters flying on giant guns or characters riding motorcycles isn't all that crazy to me at all. Besides, although we haven't seen them, Vehicles exist in Genshin. Cloud Retainer created one to race Mountain Shaper. Apparently it was very fast but struggled going over the Rocky mountain terrain.

(Leak Talk) I know the motorcycle catches people off guard, but if you watch closely during the gameplay, the bike’s special fire effects actually make up a dragon (very clearly) so I think it’s a really cool way to make her ride both a motorcycle and a dragon which I know is what people originally wanted! it’s a pretty genius decision IMO.

Here's my idea: *Mavuika, the Pyro Archon* : *Skill* : Upon activation, Mavuika transforms into a dragon rider, soaring swiftly and high above the overworld while riding her flaming dragon. If the hold skill is done, she doesn't ride the dragon. Instead, massive dragon wings materialize on her back. These wings flap at timed intervals, dealing Pyro damage over a set duration. During this state, her normal and charged attacks are infused with Pyro. If the player switches characters, the wings remain active, continuing to deal off-field Pyro damage at regular intervals. *Burst* : Her special 5-star animation begins with a cinematic where the dragon roars from deep within a volcano. A colossal Pyro attack erupts from the ground, as though breaking through the surface of a volcanic eruption, unleashing a massive AoE Pyro burst on enemies within a wide radius, dealing significant damage. Is this too much to ask for?

Main problem, sumeru has dendro archon, wisdom of teyvet and one and only academy to graduate. Fontaine known for their tech. Also,both nation share tech with their people(Akasha and robot, newspaper etc),but natlan .. everything feels monopolised, atleast show a world quest of a vehicle research centre where flying revolver and bikes prototype are being made.Just need the base to prove their existence.

What Fontain has is thematic coherency. The entirety of Fonatain was built around the steampunk theme with giant research institute with generations of research, the technology reflects in their architectural structures, their attires, their customs and you see wide spread common use of the Pneuma-Ousia tech throughout the nation, it's heavily incorporated in the entire story. Natlan did not built a floor to accommodate such an advanced item, instead it was probably some girl on roller skates who magically pulled it out of ass.

Its archaic compared to the other regions and to then suddenly have digital and now industrial mechanics flung into it without reason, its just not a seamless or believable scenario Its immersion breaking in the very least because they did not adequately incorporate the technology and mechanics in the lived and observable experience of Natlan so it is out of place and not realistic. People can enjoy it but its not consistent or logical and that fact is seemingly ignored while those of us who are aware of it can't deny this reality

I don't really find the bike weird. There have been hints in Teyvat of contact with modern worlds. You can in fact see a car when Furina activates her burst. Other things that come to mind are Xinyan's rock aesthetic, or the yae publishing manga. We learn that the sky is fake, while outlanders like Alice allude to visiting advanced worlds. The Fatui being so advanced while in Mondstat always seemed sus. Teyvat is intentionally an incoherent fantasy world, because it is fake. Each region has an identity and Natlan is modern as an antidote to a streyotypical tribal society.

Exactly how I feel. I loved Chascas design, but decided to delay pulling her bc of the ridiculous gun she's riding and go for other characters on my list first. I don't love her character enough to pull her immediatly and ignore this. Mavuika is the same. I feared she'd get one bc of the outfit they have chosen for her. That felt of already. Now she indeed got the BotW Link treatmeant (or Himeko if you want) - motocycle...nay. However, I like her character more. In sumeru, EVERYONE used the akasha system, not just some chosen playable characters, it added to the lore and worldbuilding. In fontain, technology is woven into the fabric of the nation; air crafts, the metal robots with guns. So when we saw clorinde, cheveruse and navia having gun like mechanics, we weren't surprised bc in fontain it made sense. However, in natlan, we don't see anything remotely close to motorcycles, not even bicycles. No tribe in natlan is shown to be technologically advanced, and suddenly mavuika is riding a freakishly modern motorcycle?! People dont have a problem with the advanced technology, they have a problem with inconsistency. Had we seen something like this in fontain, everyone probably would have accepted it, but in natlan? It just doesnt fit the aesthetics we are shown and its breaking the character of the nation. I personally dont have much problem with it, its whatever, I'm just trying to make you understand why some people didn't like it.

I don't mind the bike. Considering Xilonen was able to make roller-skates that can GO UP WALLS, a motorbike is not that out of the questing. Like, I don't think people understand how insane those skates are. In order for them to go up walls the way they do they basically need to be motor powered already. If she can create some sort of phlogiston powered motor that small she can create one for a regular sized bike. Also she's still in beta so I'm hoping they lower the application just a little. I so wanna use her with Ganyu and 2 sec is just on the cusp of always melting comfortably.

The motorcycle (kind of) technically has a very logical explanation. Due to phlogiston and the tendencies it has, It can be used to morph into any type of weapon or object. This is most likely how Mavuika was able to obtain a motorcycle by manipulating phlogiston, because it’s practical for exploring and going through Natlan, and is also able to fight (run people over)

I can kinda see your point, kinda odd that it's a sleek high tech looking one as well rather than holding a similar aesthetic with the assumed time period like they did with the Cycle in BoTW. Personally, I hope they use it as an excuse to tie in beings from other worlds (like a Crossover event to tie in ZZZ or HSR) And it's not like there is a complete lack of technology with how advanced Fontaine and their mechas worked, and we know that Katherine is a machine that is borderline indistinguishable from humans, and Snesnayan made. The bike nor being Medieval is the problem, the problem is that Natlan does not provide any context for this kind of technology to exist. All of Natlan is basically the boonies then we suddenly have a Ducati Diavel 1260. It's out of place. Ancient Teyvat is not current day Natlan, they dont even understand Ancient Natlan Dragon tech. The bike/flying gun/Roller blades would've been more coherent had the nation provided better representation of structural accommodation for said current day tech; there is no real sign of advanced phlogiston tech in common use by the rest of the nation, no Phligiston workshops and engineers(no, not name engravers/not blacksmiths either), no roads for a bike. People still use hand drawn carriages and live in mud huts. Place the bike in the chasms of the Children of Echoes, atop the wooden platforms of the Scions, the Shamans within the caves of the Night wind. Does it feel consistent? I bet that that they are going chalk it up to Xilonen engineering a high performance magical bike.

We have modern mechs in Sumeru, full on humanoid and canine robots, Airships and modern boats in Fontaine, they had telepathic internet, hive mind technology(alhaitham quest) and AI companions(Kaveh) in sumeru. People are acting like a motorcycle is too high tech for genshin, but its just par for the course, genshin has always had high tech and since everything in sumerus is linked to phlogiston and ancient dragons it would make sense for the region to have technology not seen in other places.

I was locked in on Mavuika when I saw her in 5.0, Period. (For a bit of context, I run Raiden and Cheverous religiously. So I picked up Ororon to help build her burst mechanic and will absolutely pull for her.) Main DPS will be Mavuika with Raiden as sub when her burst is up. Cheverous for support and Ororon for yet more electro application, and a fall back for when against Pryo aura/resistant enemies and Raiden's burst is down.

Mauvika looks so good, literally. Already from she sounds like she will enable a lot of new stuff despite Pyro already being so ingrained in the meta. About Clorinde, saying both Aggravate and Overload are her BIS is equally true, situational and that's a nice thing about her. If we get a better way to get 4* cons then i think definitely with Maviaka that OL could become her best F2P team at the time, and then also by proxy i hope it justifies a true Aggravate focused 5* Dendro support because honestly we don't have one. I love Kirara but Kirara with 3-5x more buffs would be awesome, its far from OP atm.

Fontaine was literally supposed to be the most technologically advanced nation in all of Teyvat. Once Natlan was released the first thing they did was give us Kachina riding a drill and some water lady riding a rocket powered boogieboard. Then Chasca riding a flying gun and a fire lady on a motorcycle made by a cat lady with rocket skates in a shed. Bruh talk about immersion breaking.
