The piloting is great, we all know that. But what _really_ impressed me was the timing. It's one thing to time people; timing amusement park rides is a whole other level.

I first watched this roughly a year ago shortly after this appeared online and was blown away just like everybody else. I just watched it again and was again marveling at not just the piloting, but again… the timing of everything. But then something occurred to me this time that hadn’t occurred to me last year. Is it possible that the flight path is programmed and repeatable as a “motion control” device? While this video would be no less impressive, a programmed, repeatable flight path would explain a lot and would make the synchronized timing of amusement park rides a much more manageable feat. At least I could start to comprehend how they went about achieving the tremendous choreography as opposed to being baffled by “how could they possibly pull that off?!?!” What do you think?

@@terrycoolidge9511 It's possible with today's tech, but again, I was there for the filming of this, and he flew it himself every time. It looks amazing because they did a LOT of takes. I was not exaggerating when I said we were there for hours. In this final cut, I'm in line for the air-bender, because I was getting sick from riding it over and over again, sometimes I had to sit it out. I never get sick on roller coasters but riding the same one for hours definitely did it. The guy with the long legs and orange shirt on the skateboard is my brother tho, and he was lucky enough to be on it in the vid lol. If I had to guess, he probably had been practicing the route for a week or so before the actual shoot day.

Was just thinking that too, nothing is recorded from a drone mic of course it would just be the loud buzzing sound of the blades otherwise, it was all pretty much faked. Was trying to figure out how much was recorded with on-scene mics and how much was recorded purely in foley

@@brendandarcy To filter out the sound of the motors and blades that cleanly from an onboard mic would be virtually impossible, also you don't hear any phase shifts in the location sounds as it moves about.

As a drone pilot myself, the risks taken by this pilot are incredible - in a positive way. I would have never believed there was so much control at almost at every turn. I found myself questioning the reality of this flight -- looking for signs of pseudo-reality - but there were none. I don't understand how I couldn't even see the pilot anywhere and how the pilot could have seen where it was going. yes -- like all the other comments -- this is a truly sensational exhibit of drone capabilities and -- more than that - incredible and unbelievable drone piloting skill that belongs in Hollywood. Kudos
