Use spider wire set just above knee. They will never feel it until it trips. Also small animals won't trip it.

How much tension can you set it with using one line and one hole? Looks like it would pull out before my line was tight, especially across a large area.

You can definitely pull all slack Out of it if you desire if doing one line. If you do not desire for it to be too sensitive you can buy the lvl 2 spring which will make it a little less sensitive than the lvl 1 spring that comes in the alarm. We are the only company who provides that option. We are also only company who offers the Quad alarm which also offers option for the pin use in the firing pin if you so chose. The pin option takes a little more pressure than the plate system and just offers even more utilization. We are leaps and bounds beyond any other trip alarm on the market. Awsome , apparently my dog isn't keeping the Cyote's & other preditors away , doesn't help my better half always bringing the dog in the house all the time . The Chickens & ducks don't have a chance . I tried something similar but the shogltgun shells actually explode out of the side . Do you have one that can be used with a small tube that would shoot at the predictors ? You can sure hear at night that the numbers of Cyote's yellping there hast to be over 100 + thanks .

They aren't made to use live ammo. and if you made what you were talking about that would probably be considered a firearm by the ATF and you dont want to deal with that.
