"Maybe my brain is about to be finished." ~Digious Bronious 2016

I took a Developmental Psychology class and yeah, once you reach around 25. Your brain for the most part is fully-developed. It doesn't necessarily mean you will stop getting smarter or you will be in a forever loop of "I can never change". It just means essentially your pubescence period is over. Your fluid knowledge is at its' peak and eventually what you learned and believe will eventually start to turn into crystallized knowledge in a decade or so. By the way, if Digibro became an anime professor, I'd so take his class. I'd travel the country for that shit. Even if there are weeaboos in the class, Digibro will exclaim "YOU SHALL NOT PASS" to them. Then all is well. Edit: I just realized what his professor name should be. DigiPro. Spitting out sick lectures and rhymes while teaching you how to exercise and analyze art. Damn, DigiPro could do anything!

I'm glad i watched the whole 40 minutes, You articulated some anxieties I had that I couldn't put into words for myself. Im afraid to death of synaptic pruning and am really trying hard to make better habits for myself. I share that feeling of hating to drive somewhere out of my comfort zone and building a better work ethic. That state of mind is terrible when you have to do something but don't want to do it so you don't do ANYTHING else.

It's nice to know that someone in the their mid-20's understands a problem that I have. I was literally the only Asian kid in elementary school, and I shared almost no interests with my classmates. I'm now in high school, and it's hard to shake that feeling of not belonging. I've started pushing myself into more interaction with my schoolmates, even if it's uncomfortable. I found your channel maybe a week ago and since then I've been binging your videos. We are like two drops of water. A viewer relating to a YT personality is a boringly common occurrence. However, what leads me to believe that we are so similar is the observations and experiences we share that could have happened only as a result of us being the way we are. There are superficial differences, for instance, I don't share a few of your anime related opinions, and I dress much better ;). That said, our approach, fears, thought process, conduct, interests, and lifestyle appear to be absolutely parallel - that's what makes us similar, not favourite shows. It's 7 am where I live, and when you spoke about sleep, the same conclusion for the same reasons crossed my mind before you spilled them. These similarities are almost overwhelming. Probably the biggest life-shaping difference between us is that I don't do YT even though I wanted to long before it became a job to anyone. Digi, I'm sure you know my feels. Happy birthday and keep up the good work, and maybe some day I will join you in self-fulfilment! Maybe not :

Regarding changing eating habits and getting into a workout routine, my advise (from personal experience) is that you don't do too much at once. I started out a regular workout at the start of 2013, at which point I was also 25 years old, and that was actually the 3rd attempt at getting a regular workout going. My first workout (of attempt 3) was just something the trainer at my gym planned for me, a workout they give every newbie there. Just a simple whole body workout on workout machines. And that was really all I did back then, starting out, I didn't really change my diet. I didn't even have a bathroom scale to check my weight. Fast forward to today, I am doing a push/pull/leg split with as many compound exercises as possible (really, all you need is a barbell and a pull-up bar), I count my calories and log what I eat on myfitnesspal, I fundamentally changed the way I eat, eating almost exclusively my own home cooked food, I eat at a pretty rigid schedule, I log my workouts and my workout progress on fitocracy, and I started doing MMA earlier this year. This was all gradual over the last 3 years. At some point I started looking into and trying different workout routines (3 split, push/pull split, whole body again, 4 split, etc.), then I started looking into nutrition and into counting your calories, at some point I started this whole cutting and bulking shtick, etc. Even the way I think about my workout changed. When I started out, I thought of it as a necessary evil. A pain in the ass, but something I had to do if I wanted to be healthier and also just LOOK better. Nowadays I look forward to my workout and I get really antsy when I can't do my workout for some reason. Not only do I enjoy the workout itself, I also enjoy how I am entirely disconnected from everything except the other people at the gym while I do it. I leave my phone in the locker, I only have a little book with me where I write down what I did, and my iPod. I actually enjoy being away from any sort of computer screen or any sort of device that is connected to the internet for a few hours every week. The gym is kind of it's own, interesting microcosm and I love everything about it. What I mean to say is: It doesn't HAVE to be overnight and it doesn't HAVE to be all at once. As long as you are not dealing with acute health issues that need to be resolved fast, it isn't a race. Well, that is what worked best for ME.

Happy birthday on advance! I don´t know if this can help/interest you, but i was never really interested on going outside until I traveled like, fucking far away from my home, like overseas, and it took me by force and showed me a lot of the possibilities on the world (of the world?) and people are interesting everywhere, and on the most unexpected places, maybe it could help you experiencing new things and eating food from everywhere and anywhere. Maybe going far away and finding a dish you want to make at home that you cannot find anywhere else.

Huh, who would've thought, we actually share our birth date. Well, minus the turning 25. Sooooo...congrats, Digi. I do believe this is the first time I've commented on a video of yours, so let me mention that it's been a pleasure so far, as your videos, although I don't always agree with them, are at the very least always well-thought out, based on logical thought and usually properly structured as well. As such, for what it is worth, I daresay you are, as far as anime is concerned, the 'best' or to be specific the most analytic and reasonable youtuber around. I've seen other good ones, but many of them focus on one series/genre, or have one specific good video, whereas with you the area of expertise, if one may call it so, is much wider, encompassing various different topics, (nigh) all of them still pertaining to strictly anime ofc. At the very least, you are the only one I know who is openly so passionate and informed about the anime industry as a whole. Now, I know I'm likely the upteenth guy to tell you this, and actually, I wonder if you'll even see and read this, but hey, the occasion was there and I felt like mentioning that I truly appreciate what you are doing. (truthfully, we all know anime severely lacks in the department of criticism; take a book, controversial or not, and you'll find analyses longer than the book itself... in fact, sometimes the analysis goes TOO far: if you want an example, look no farther than Kafka and the various interpretations his works have inspired, some of them interesting, some whacky, and some downright mind-boggling and far-fetched. Even so, anime still needs to be more widely and professionally discussed in order to reach the level of literature and such. As it is now, many producers are uninspired in their jobs exactly because of the lack of negative/analytical feedback.) As such, cheers, man, cheers.

Guilt’s purpose isn’t to make us feel bad just for the sake of it. The feeling of guilt is trying to get our attention so that we can learn something from the experience. If we learn from our behavior, we’ll be less likely to do it again in the future. If I’ve accidentally said something insulting to another person, my guilt is telling me I should (a) apologize to the person and (b) think a little more before I open my mouth. If your guilt isn’t trying to correct an actual mistake you made in your behavior (e.g., it’s unhealthy guilt), then there’s not a whole lot you need to learn. Instead of learning how to change that behavior, a person can instead try to understand why a simple behavior most people wouldn’t feel guilty about is making one feel guilty. For instance, I felt guilty for spending some time playing a game during regular work hours. Since I work for myself, however, I don’t really keep “regular work hours,” but it’s hard for me to change that mindset after years of working for others. So, don't feel so bad about not working all the time.

I can absolutely relate to the whole 'I shouldn't be here' paranoia, I used to feel that a LOT. So much so that I would take detours on the way to the grocery store if I saw people on my way there (especially if I knew that they were around my age), just so that I wouldn't have to go by them. It was quite bad actually, I was your typical, painfully shy bloke... I WAS the male, German version of Tomoko from Watamote. I managed to shed of some of that just by getting older, but I never really got rid of that until recently. I honestly think that working out was the biggest factor in helping me getting over that. Getting rid of all that fat gave me a huge confidence boost. In the past, you would've never seen me in shorts, ALL my pants had to go over my knees (and then some) for some reason. I also wouldn't wear tight pants/denims, I was ashamed of that as well. Basically, I was hiding myself, hoping not to be noticed. But today? I feel it would be a crime NOT to show off that amazing ass that I have, so it's slim fit denims all day, erryday (well, except at home, my cat doesn't care about my ass). I wear actual shorts when it is hot out and at the gym, because people NEED to see these powerful legs that I own. You think you're gonna fuck with me? Look at these bad boys and imagine getting kicked by them. Well, I am playing it up a bit for laughs, I am not at Jaxblade's level yet (HOT DAMN!), but that's where I want to be at some point, and I bet that I an pull it off within the next 2 or 3 years. I am confident, I feel sexy, and I honestly like being seen these days. Still an introvert, of course. I still spend most of my free time at home, in front of my computer, shitposting. The difference is that I don't mind being out and about. I actually enjoy going out every Saturday, going shopping, going to the farmer's market and having a chat with the people selling their produce there, and getting to know them. So yeah, get that workout going and get yourself that hot bod. You'l love it.

If you love to learn, there's a lot of knowledge out there regarding workouts and nutrition. You'd be increasing the amount of time that you could use your joints as well haha. And you'd also get better at doing any kind of physically demanding challenges like pull ups or having the endurance to carry a camera all day. You should be fine and who knows, you might even be able to pull off Sakamoto's evolution style of running one day! good luck!

Additionally, if you might want to exercise but couldn't really keeping and justifying it, and if you also wanted to worsen your experience when watching sword combat in shows, you may want to check HEMA; Medieval Weapon-based Martial Arts based on adapting old manuscript. Lastly, since you're quite a productive person, do you have some resources you might be able to share? i'd love to check them if there's any. Hey, i think this is a problem most people who are working freelance or working at home have. My solution to that was going to the gym almost everyday and once or twice a week i go doing archery which brings me out of the city and into the countryside. Also going to occasional coventions, related to your job or interests, even if they are far away, it's usually a good opportunity to meet up with people you know online but never have the opportunity to meet irl. Long story short, i think working at home could be a good opportunity to have a great social life, but you have to plan it yourself or it would be just you at home forever in isolation xD

The thing about the brain finishing development around the age of 25 is definitiely true, the neuroscience is pretty clear on that. I think the last area of the brain that finishes developing is the one associated with long term decision making and emotional control, a reason why some people argue that voting age should be pushed back to around 25. But the development is not growth, it's basically the brain finishing connecting everything up as it should be. But if I take me as an anecdotal example, I am 28 years old now, turning 29 in about a month, and I think very differently compared to 3 years ago. So it isn't as solid as you seem to think.

+Digibro Also I'd love to see more vids of you outside doing stuff. Who cares if you are recording anyway? If they have a problem who cares, fuck em.

Yo, Happy Birthday, Digi. Time to blast some Death Grips and get drunk as shit. But you probably do that on a regular basis lol.

As a person who often gets less than six hours of sleep a night, I would *highly* advise against doing so regularly - it's a habit I'm trying to break. Unless you're one of the very few people who can function perfectly on no sleep, you'll feel like shit pretty much all the time. Also, getting eight hours in is a must if you wanna make gains in the gym.

Would you be interested in maybe one day uploading the whole Asterisk series in one video like you did with Psycho-Pass?
