This movie really potrayed the emperor badly. First he's sickly and can't fight on his own in the battle of throne so Han Derang strategized for him and basically sit him on the throne, cause Han support his vision on the country he's going to lead. After getting the throne he felt he's too weak to lead the country and out of all the amazing woman available there, he chose Han's love, hiding behind 'it's for the sake of the country'. After Yanyan finally agreed to support the country and bear him children, he's like 'now i can have fun since my life is not much longer anyway, just let Yanyan and Han do the job since they are doing it better than me'

You can’t feel two pulses 😅 A woman’s heart rate increases when she’s pregnant because her body is doing more work. You’d need other signs too though, like missed periods, morning sickness, growing belly etc. They show just the pulse thing because it’s not considered appropriate to discuss periods or show a pelvic exam in these dramas.
