I last flew on Lufthansa back in 2018. Flew on a B747-8i from FRA to ORD, food was mediocre but not terrible then. They only have a high Skytrax rating for their international Business & First products, if you're in the back its sure as hell no 5* experience. I am keen to try their short haul product again for a more up to date catch up though. I would happily pay to fly economy class on the 747-400/8i or A380-800, but I wouldn't go out my way to fly them on something else.

Yeah, I've still got no idea how they got that 5* rating, I'm sure it was great publicity though. It's such a shame as well since they've got such an interesting fleet. In all honesty, they're not that bad, it's just that the catering let them down massively, especially on long hauls. There's definitely no way I'm gonna be paying extra to fly with them again. In fact, I'll probably pay extra just to avoid them in the future haha.

I flew on B748 From EDDF to WSSS...I can say, LH needs to retrofit them immediately... Food was awesome, crew friendly... . Now I really need to fly on B744.. I had many opportunities but missed it... I had KLM744 to SXM,LH744 to Dubai and many more but covid came and nothing happened 😢

Lufthansa is well known for their awful food..especially in Economy...
