True death is when your name never crosses another set of lips.. Billy Holliday and Etta James voices touches your soul! Their music makes you feel! These women are so underrated now. Music like this needs to be on the radio daily ( or nightly) As long as I have breath I will keep them alive in my little corner of the world!

I adore Billy but I just can't listen to her any more. It just gets too dark in my head. I had Gloomy Sunday as an earworm in my head for a day recently, got me all out of sorts.

@@brianedwards7142i plan on watching this & learning all about the Harlem Renaissance! Actually pretty excited about hearing this style of music…you can never experience too much “new to you” music😊. Should I skip over some of Billy’s? I don’t want to get out of sorts, but I don’t want to miss out on any of her songs.

@@ROCCOA65 You don't know what's going to affect you until it does. I would listen to it all, even Gloomy Sunday but remember to cut it with some upbeat stuff. That was a great time for novelty and comedic songs like Minnie the Moocher and Yo' Feets too Big. Pennies from Heaven, Sunny Side of the Street and That Sugar Baby of Mine all put a smile on my face too.

I’m old lol and library’s hold a plethora of information. Wear old clothes or something not concerned with dust and grime. I’m not kidding, you wanna dig deep into unused shelves, obscure books, and you’ll be amazed at how creative your brain can be when inspired, the moment you realize you can use others lives you’ve read about and nobody has heard of them or know about them so it’s like new!!! However, ALWAYS CREDIT your inspiration truthfully, coz somebody is bound to know and want to discredit you. I did! I read and based a skit I performed on an obscure story I found and got an A! That was big for me back then. Bolstered my confidence! Unlimited is who you are, so get ready for flight!!! And you gotta do the hard work, no gettin around it. Perseverance is the ‘secret’ to success but most quit, thinking I’ve done this and this and still nothing! Stay the course is the only way. It might take YEARS so all your ‘roughness’ is smoothed out so you can shine bright like the diamond you are🎶🎵😝🙏🏻❤️ get goin enjoy the JOURNEY excersize your wisdom believe in yourself when none do coz they’re flightless birds and you’re a FLYER🌟🌟🌟🙏🏻❤️

It is absolutely abominable to use those who have passed on and didn’t force themselves on the public to push your agenda. You ain’t like them. Their contributions to entertainment was with respect and discretion and timeless elegance. This is why it will be forever. Can you provide a lady will and testament from any of those who featured stating that their work was all for the advancement of this end to make known and expose them after death? No respect and exploiting footage and photos to try to justify what is going on now. That was talent back then that entertained the world for generations and generations. Your brand of entertainment is to serve yourselves.
