To an old time glowdriver like me ... been there done that, but it surprises me that such a video is necessary nowadays. I mean back in the old days you learned your craft including your engine. If you didn't, you didn't fly.

I hear ya bud! It's a very common question. Or what tune are you using? Sorry I can't give you a tune nor can I sing you one 😂 but guys like us that have all kinds of different engines airplane stuff you learn a certain way to do it and it always works. 💯🍻

Funny story. I bought this nice aluminum blue anodized head on ebay for the dynamite Mach 26 the old engine. After I installed it and started the engine, few minutes later the top piece of the aluminum head went ''BLING!" and it came off clean from the head. 🤣🤣

I bought a new Rossi .12 micron with no manual, my concern proper break in settings on needle valves . Too rich can be bad also?
@thebug4046 Жыл бұрын
Preheat the engine over 200°f and keep the head wrapped and the temperature up in the 200s it will take almost a gallon to break in. Kinda like the Adam Drake method but a lot longer. Ps keep in mind there is absolutely no parts available if someone happens. As that engine is 20 plus years old

Got an old gs racing nitro rigs haven't run for a hell of a lot of years looking for needle o rings for the carbs any help would be great thanks
@thebug40467 ай бұрын
Easier to grab a new carb. The SH 21 to 28 or Dynamite big red carburetor will fit it for about 30$ and the o ring set is 20 if you can find one

Won't it be better to lean the hsn out first then work on the idle and lsn last?
@thebug40463 жыл бұрын
Work the idle and low first before the high basically everyone does it it like That you can watch Adam Drake tuning videos if you need
@daveshank19213 жыл бұрын
It deponds on were your LSN is at if it is kinda rich then setting it first to keep the engine in check so your not revving high and burnin your clucth. If it really close you could dobyour HSN first. I agree with Bug404 tbh.

Hi mate..love your vids and am in FB group with you, thought you would be the best person to ask , can I use any carb cleaner for my engines, if so what would you suggest? Many thanks :)
@thebug40463 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watchin! And non chlorinated brake parts cleaner works fine be careful with carburetor cleaner it can destroy things you can use a strong alcohol like 99% rubbing alcohol works fine to

Great vid Luke. For guys like us with nitro experience we’ve all been at the point at some time in the hobby where we could NOT get an engine to start. I’m glad you make videos like this because a new guy that can’t get his engine started is gonna give up and go to electric which we definitely don’t wanna see happen to our hobby. Good job bro 👍🏻

That a airplane carburetor not really good for rc car engines they like to be near full throttle all the time since they have no low speed needle

@ashermorales82762 жыл бұрын
Generally I’ll reset my engines to 1-2 turns out from flush on the high and low speed except for os engines which I set to flush (which is pretty rich). Works for me. It sets the engines at a decently rich starting point for a tune, and if it’s for break in, I either leave the needles alone, or if it’s after a repinch, I give it another half turn or so from flush for the high and low speed. Setting your needles flush is for sure the easiest way to do it, but because different engine companies like to be different from each other, putting your needles flush will effect different engines in different ways
@thebug40462 жыл бұрын
Like I'd mentioned before I don't know the settings for any engine I tuned them super rich at 1st and then run from there and for breaking settings I have quite the oddball is oddball brick in process that will make most people pull their hair out even if I try to explain it lol
