Newsprint is pretty cheap on Amazon but if you go to the Dollar tree you can buy a pack of kids drawing pad that is about a 9”x18” pad and you get 50 sheets and cut it down to 8 1/2 X 11 size and run it thru the printer. It is much cheaper than Amazon. I love the way you organize your quilting pieces. I am working on 3 different quilts right now and I am definitely going to start doing this. It will make my life a whole lot less complicated.

Love that idea of creating the pieces of the block and keeping them in the page protecter sleeves until your ready to finish the blocks. Great saying “my room my rules”. Continue your creative!

Mark! I’m so pleased you’ve hit your target dead center! Thank you for the shoutout! You’ve done a fantastic job finding a way to keep your block parts organized. I think that is a very smart solution. Your blocks don’t get wrinkled or crumpled and they stay with their intended counterparts. If you are using templates I can suggest a temporary glue dot and dispenser. I use that on the back of my paper templates when I am rotary cutting any of my paper patterns and it is a big help. The glue just rubs off gently. I think I’ve noticed a similar pattern of behavior that I myself experience. I am anxious about starting a new technique and I drag my feet in dread until I finally hunker down and try it. Then I learn that I really like it. But the grace I give myself then, is all the experience I’ve built up in the interim has equipped me for the challenge. I’m very proud of you!

So glad you are finally getting to make your New York Beauties. I look forward to seeing the final results. Love the colors and can I borrow your wife to set up my color schemes too. Iol. I used blacks n whites , so boring! Hope you still have the block I made you as inspiration/motivation. Awesome idea of storage for the blocks, gives you a chance to change up the colors when laying them all out prior to sewing them together. Thank you again Mark and Yvonne for the great youtube videos. You help so many people in so many ways.

I had gotten behind on your channel. Recently I've been watching some videos on foundation paper piecing. I start getting caught up on your channel and find more videos on foundation paper piecing. KZbin works in mysterious ways. I had collected some supplies a while back intending to give English paper piecing a try, but got sidetracked. I'll get back to it eventually. I didn't think I was interested in foundation paper piecing until I started hearing of the precision that can be achieved with it, and stumbling across QuiltWorx.com and seeing some of the amazing patterns available there. The precision aspect of it appeals to the OCD side of me. I have an Add-A-Quarter ruler set, some vellum paper, and Nancy Mahoney's Learn to Paper Piece: A Visual Guide to Piecing with Precision book on their way to me. One of the paper piecing videos on the OnPoint-TV and Quilting with Nancy channel has some tips on removing papers without pulling stitches. I love the combinations your CFO put together, and the combination of Batiks and solid colors for the points.

love watching your tutorials, and im going to try this pattern. My home town quilt shop closed its doors because of the covid, but they have a website and have so so many batiks, rows and rows of them., plus any sewing notions or patterns you want... If you are looking for batiks., the quilt shop is called : The fabric shack, located in waynesville ohio :)
