The Quincunx Difficulty in Your Chart

The Quincunx, sometimes known as the Inconjunct is underplayed by most astrologers. It is considered a minor aspects, but in my experience, I have found it to be a major aspect, not only in personal charts, but also with global events.
Because the 150 degree angle of the quincunx involves two different elements e.g. Fire and Air, but also two different modalities e.g. Cardinal and Fixed - its energies are difficult to reconcile.
During July and August, Saturn in Scorpio is exactly quincunx to Uranus in Aries. Saturn in Scorpio is Fixed Water while Uranus in Aries is Cardinal Fire.
One wants to be cautious, to have structure, to move very slowly if at all, while the other wants immediate action, no structure and loves to take a risk.
This is the energy we are dealing with in the heavens.
Where does this fall in your chart? In which life area are you playing it safe and in which life area are you being too impulsive? How can you balance these vibrations?

Thank you so much for talking about this aspect! I have 6 of them in my chart, 2 of which involve my Sun's ruler, one involving my chart ruler and one from my Sun to my Ascendant. Not easy to live with but I think finding the commonality between the two signs, no matter how small is key to working with this aspect.

An image I think of for what these two have in common- a detective ie Columbo. Gemini deals with facts and details... curiousity.... information to put the pieces of the puzzle together...the questioner...a much nicer way of saying being nosey. lol Scorpio also does this-just on a much deeper level than Gemini. Gemini helps ease the Scorpio intensity which can frighten some people Scorpio. Scorpio gives Gemini much needed depth. Mercury was the only one willing to go into Hades. ;-)

DressagePony75 The Gemini part of you will be curious and interested in lots of different things. The Scorpio part will enable you to focus on what is really important to you and not just to skate over everything superficially which is what Gemini has a tendency to do. The Scorpio part of you can get too fixated on something, or even obsessive, while the Gemini part of you will be able to distract you from something that isn't working and focus your attention on something new. I'm fascinated by quincunxes. I almost always find myself attracted--at least superficially--to opposite sex on both side of my opposite sign (of Aries). The females I get along best with as pals are often Taurus women. I suspect it's because of my 1 degree Gemini moon being just one off from Taurus, the whole Venus-ruled thing, and I guess other aspects in their and my charts that are compatible. But I digress. Hi Tess, Saturn leaves Scorpio in the middle of December this year, 2014, and comes back briefly into Scorpio again between mid-June and mid-Sept 2015 - but only in the last degrees: 28 and 29 degrees. I hope this helps!!

Hi Tim, the Taurus part of you needs security, stability, safety. It doesn't particularly like change. The Sagittarius part wants freedom, independence, new adventures and wants to be spontaneous and even impulsive. The dichotomy inside you is: risk vs certainty. Without seeing the whole chart I'm not quite sure which on will win - but these are the kinds of energies you are grappling with. I hope this resonates with you!

Yes, the Venus connection does help with Taurus and Libra. The Mars connection helps with Scorpio and Aries. Will do classes at some point!! :)

Hi Lulu, look for any planets that are 5 signs apart e.g. Aries to Scorpio, or Aries to Virgo, and check if they are at similar degrees. If so, you have found a quincunx! I hope this helps.

It's very hard to answer you without seeing the whole chart. But Saturn will force you to restructure any areas of your life that are not working.
