This video does not show it but , most of the cars with numbers on them actually competed in 1/8 drag races the following day. Those weren’t just “poser” numbers. They were assigned by the event organizers.

@@396M21 Not true in this case. One of the participants had their young daughter paint the numbers on many of the racers so the announcer could keep track of who was racing.

@@twinrodders Yes, true. As you said "one" of the participants. I have watched other videos of the event and the numbers are a permanent part of the theme of the build as are the vintage style helmets. Hey, it is what it is.Like I said, IMO it is overdone.

@@twinrodders I like the racing numbers whether it is being over done or what, I guess as everything gets fashionable it gets overdone, but that has been the same story since hot rodding started, I guess at some stage someone said "Flames " are over done too ! Or pinstriping, or whatever. I wonder what the next trend will be, probably 70s style hot rods 🤣
