THE RACE | Warriors OC PMV

HI HELLO these two poor souls have had two attempted a/pmvs that i couldn't get to finish for one reason or another, so now here i am with THIS one. i'm not super happy with how it came out (i do like the end and some of the middle!) but i forced myself to power through so that i can storyboard other ideas pfff
this pmv is for my girlfriend, MercenaryBlood! i hope you like it :3c
STORY

The cats are named Ebonystrike (blue eyes) and Waspstrike (green eyes). Unlike Two Birds, the story is pretty self explanatory, but I'll still give a brief synopsis.
Ebonystrike was born with his siblings to a rogue mother, clan father. The mother didn't want kits, had never planned to have them, so she tried to drown them starting with the younger, weaker ones first. Thanks to this traumatic event, Ebonystrike has severe hydrophobia and refuses to go near rivers and anything larger than that. His father was on a nearby patrol and managed to save them, bringing them home to the clan for safety. They became a tight-knit family with their father in tow, and spent all their free time together.
After a while of adjusting to clan life, they were promoted to apprentices, and were each given mentors. But as Ebonypaw slowly progressed through apprenticeship, all his family members started to pass away, all for different reasons. He was numb with grief, and would refuse to leave the apprentices den unless for food or water (and even then, not often). That's where Wasppaw, one of his denmates, comes in. He manages to convince Ebonypaw to leave the den with him, and watch the sunset.
The two grow ever closer for the rest of their apprenticeship, even becoming warriors on the same day with the same suffix! Ebonystrike had managed to fall in love with Waspstrike, and for a long time it seemed he felt the same, at least until Ebony would see Wasp in and out of camp, but almost always flirting with a girl in the clan. This broke Ebony's stitched together heart, and he would stew away at night thinking about it, and avoid Wasp at all costs during the day.
After a handful of moons, there was a raid on their camp. Ebony was getting battered thanks to his lack of sleep, and to his shock, Wasp jumped to the rescue. He and the attacker faced off, before in the heat of it all, Wasp struck out at his neck and killed him. Wasp didn't seem to care that he had, but realized Ebony was watching the whole time and was horrified on his behalf.
This broke Ebony out of his shock and, remembering his past, felt deep survivor's guilt at the sight, thinking he had just lived through another scene where he was meant to die. He pinned down Wasp in his fit of unrest, crying as he thought about everything they'd been through, just to culminate to this. It eventually got to be too much, and he fled the camp during the battle, ignoring Wasp crying out for him.
He ran blindly through his territory, mind in too much of a haze to process where he was going. He had no destination. At least, he didn't, until he saw he was barreling towards the very same river his mother had attempted to drown him in all those moons ago. Ebony tried to stop running, but fell in all the same.
Waspstrike had followed him out of camp shortly after, calling his name the entire time and just following his scent trail to find him. When the trail ended at the riverside, he panicked and jumped in to look for him. He found him.
He fishes Ebonystrike out of the water, and belatedly realizes how shallow his breathing is. Knowing he can't save him, he simply curls around him and cries, apologizing for not being better and not realizing the severity of everything.
Ebonystrike barely has the strength to open his eyes, but he does, and as he sees Waspstrike crying over him, he thinks about his life and decides, yes, fate has caught up with me this time. And that's okay.

as a sidenote, yes, wasp DOES love ebony back, he's however heavily in denial of it, and that's why he so suddenly started flirting with other cats.
but i hope you all enjoyed this pmv! it was a trial and a half to make, so i hope it tugs on the heartstrings a bit :'D and i promise i don't always kill off my cats-

I LOVE THIS, the “end” I was thinking “I wish there was more :(“ and I didn’t see the video length, then I watched it again and read the description. Once I realized there’s was a minute and a half left, I watched and HOLY COW!! I LOVED THE END SO MUCH , it was so creative! Never cease to amaze :”)

Pan I'm telling you tis because I trust you, but I took my Covid test and me and my siblings all got negative. But my mom tested positive, and I'm crying because I'm so scared. It's not even like it's fatal on her too. I'm just scared and want to be able to go to school. Please wish me luck.
