"Why would anyone do that?!" Sisyphus offended the Greek gods when he was alive, and was doomed to forever roll a boulder up an apparently endless hill. When he gets near the top, the boulder is enchanted to go out of his grasp and roll back down to the bottom.

The version I heard was much more mundane; he just had to push the Boulder up the hill. Then, when he reached the top, it'd roll down the other way and hour bad to start over.

If you want to have that feeling with 100 times the amount of difficulty, try speedrunning any game. You will have climbed to the top of the hill with that ball, if you get 1st place, and have fallen to the bottom, if you're not first place.

Yeah it’s exactly that, Sisyphus was a tyrant who would murder visitors to his kingdom (hospitality is a serious thing to Greeks) and cheated death twice the gods punished him by forcing him to push the rock up a mountain and the second he would reach the top the rock would roll back down the hill.

I looked it up after watching a movie about a woman who got stuck on a cruise ship and kept killing other versions of herself and was stuck in a Time loop. Sisyphus pretty much has the worst punishment imaginable when it came to being punished by the gods, he has it worse than Prometheus does
