In Jotenheim in the last game it said in lore “We await a Champion to make Gods grow good”. Kratos has denied prophecy his whole life so he thought nothing of “The Champion”. But in the end Kratos was actually the Champion to turn Gods “Good”. He is the Champion who United all the Realms. Kratos denied this Champion but in fact it was him. That’s why Kratos cried at the end. Because he’s now worshipped as a God of Unity.

That last mural Kratos saw after Atreus left wasn't really how it sounds. For the longest time, even since his days back in Greece, Kratos thought he was beyond redemption. That he was cursed for the rest of his life. That mural of him in shining gold was not only him helping rebuild the realms and beloved by many but also him learning to forgive himself for a past that he thought he could never find forgiveness for. His wife and first child, what he did in Greece, how many mortals and gods he killed made him wear his guilt like a cloak. I think that's why he ends up losing his cloak at the beginning of the game. It was symbolic of the entire God of War franchise to not only rid yourself of that cloak but find a path that redeems yourself. That was poetic, well done writing Santa Monica Studios!🥰🥰🥰

Never in his life would he have thought that he would ever deserve this kinda love and support from the people. Especially not after what he did in his previous life. The berserker fights are incredibly fun, there's a side quest that properly ends the game and very well at that. Gna is one hell of a fight. Absolutely awesome playthrough.
