I don't know about other martial artist, but for those who practice and master the art of Silat, we called them 'pendekar'. When I was young, I watched TV series 'Pendekar'and I like how they dressed and their culture, basically watching my ancestors living their life once upon a time ago.

As someone who knows the language, the dub sounds funny to me. 😂😂 Especially the dub for rama's boss/inspector. The voice sounds older than the actor, like a grandpa voice. 😂

The type of martial art they are doing is called Pencak Silat. It's a close combat martial art from Indonesia. Fun fact: there are few Pencak Silat dojos in the USA. The weapon that looks like a boomerang is Karambit.

Personally for me the first Raid is better. The second is still good, but for me I felt like the length of the second one was abit too long. Needed for the sake of explanating the infiltration but just ehhh for me. The fights were good, but still prefer the first one. Overall, good series to go through especially when they were directed by the same guy who is now doing the TV series Gangs of London

I agree. IMO, the 2nd film had the single best fight scene, but the 1st had a tighter plot and better pacing. It's just a leaner, superior film overall. It felt genre defining. This one is a great sequel though. Like good DLC for a great video game.

And still the second movie have so many deleted scenes. You can find it in yt. I think the raid 2 is for peoples who likes more stories, more characters, more drama, and have more spare time maybe. But the raid 1 is full of nonstop action with acceptable length and it's perfect for peoples who doesn't care much about the stories and characters but likes more action and martial arts.
