AOC had better numbers than Trevor Lawrence last year so I wish everyone would stop saying the Raiders need a QB. So many people wanted to sacrifice too many picks for an unproven QB in the draft. Build the team and if AOC isn't the answer then draft next year.

AOC has what it takes, I believe it. Minshew doesn't seem to have an arrogant bone in his body so he will work out well at QB2. Full offseason, more offensive depth, o-line help, better scheme, a defense that can keep the opponent's offense off the field, all this will serve AOC in his 2nd year development.

Will Levis and Tommy Devito were both Rookie QBs with better passer ratings than AOC. If Richardson wasn't hurt he would've had a better year too. In his limited action his passer rating is better. Minshew backed up Jalen Hurts, Trevor Lawrence, and Anthony Richardson who are all ballers (Lawrence coming off of a dwn yr). Minshew has won 2 playoff games and balled everywhere he's been. Not trying to knock AOC but Minshew is better

@emendoza4832 Yet they all had better passer ratings than AOC last year. AOC also played on a wayyy better team, so those wins are mostly on the defense, not him. I think AOC will be the starting QB. He was a rookie last his numbers were damn near the same as Minshew's career numbers. A 4th round QB tossed into the fire without any real first time reps had to be hard. But he learned down the stretch. And I know that Vikings game is going to come up. But football is the ultimate team sport.AOC is not throwing it to himself. He's gotta have help. That's where BB89 comes in. The more weapons and options you have, the harder it is on the defense. Mayers and Bowers are going to be coverage nightmares. Add in Adams and Meyers with Zeus in the backfield, and it's pick your poison day! The defense will be a DOMINANT unit. The offense looks like they are getting up to battle with the Chiefs.

@raiderfilms6482 OH No! Raider fans understand, and we're not holding ANYTHING against him. I think the kid straight out BALLED last year. He made so INSANE throws. And he's only going to get better! I think this kid is the second best behind CJ Stroud last year. If he was a bit more mobile, he may have gone in the first or second round as well. But as a pure pocket passer, he can make all the throws. I'm still trying to figure out why these so-called experts keep saying he can't throw the deep ball?!? They clearly don't watch film. I'll be shocked if Minshew beats him out for the starting spot. The QB, I think, who will shock EVERYONE, is Anthony Brown. No one, and I MEAN NO ONE, is talking about him or giving him a shot at starting, and he can do it all!

Raiders fans please remember that AOC was a Rookie last year and did not get the preseason prep that he would have had he been named the starter from day 1. If at the end of this season we all agree that he does not have the ability to be a very good to great QB, then it makes sense to think of him as a backup QB. Give this young guy a shot before judging him as many past great QB's in this league were not great as rookies.

What i find funny is how fans and the mediots keep click baiting Raider fans into believing minshew is the starter. Minshew has been let go by 3 teams already. Folks, if he was a starter, they would have kept him as the starter. His arm limitations is going to set the offense back. And second, if you were a starter, why would you take backup money. I’m excited about the Raiders future, the west coast offense can be a very effective ball control offense but it takes a lot of discipline because it usually takes long sustained drives to score unlike a quick strike offenses so the more plays it takes to score the more opportunities for mistakes arise like stupid penalties, turnovers, dropped passes and such, but I believe if anyone can get this team playing like a well disciplined team it’s AP so our future could be promising.🤞

Bowers is the anti-Waller... Darren would fold to the ground the instant a 180lb CB touched him... Brock plows through LBs and Safeties and, even if they can hold on, he drags them 10 yards up the field!

Or built around Minshew. They keep repeating the stats how Gardner succeeds in 12 peronsel (1 back 2TE) offenses.

I don't know O'Connell's stats in that situation but his base package at Purdue was 12 personnel. But again, Pierce is the head coach and he said O'Connell is his guy until someone beats him out. Minshew isn't consistent enough to do that while O'Connell is still growing.

*If* Brady did come play for the Raiders half the season... Brady could wear *#10* his college number, so AOC wearing #12 wouldn't be a problem for Brady. Just saying Carl but i doubt that will happen brady playing

You mean built around Gardner Minshew. Like it or not, he's going to be the starter.

They built this with Minshew in mind. And any talk of Brady at this point and age, is ideocracy

I'd say its built more around Minshew than AOC. But regardless it's not built around neither. We still need a QB to win the SB. Neither QB we have is it
