Although it may seem random at first when you think about it, it actually makes a lot of sense. Kivotos as a whole is an academy city very similar to the one in toaru, especially the the academy we are focusing on during the event millineum(I forgot how to spell it). Lastly Kivotos as a whole takes a lot of inspiration from academy city.

My general issue with a lot of these To Aru collabs lately is despite them being Railgun T collabs, Touma and Gunha are never in any of them, yet Accelerator (despite only getting a few minutes of screentime in T) gets in them. Blue Archive makes sense as it's an all-female gacha game so Touma or Accelerator showing up would be odd (Its also a good thing this collab is happening). The Japanese have also pointed out the lack of Touma in a lot of these collabs lately as well despite being one of the main faces of the whole series. I really hope with the 20th anniversary coming up (Fingers crossed for NT anime/OT Reboot) that they have the guts to give less loved characters a chance to show up in these collabs (even if they may not be popular) as it could be really good growth for getting new fans into the series and could give some of these characters a shot at the spotlight.

I honestly think that Railgun 4 or Accelerator 2 might come before Index 4. Due to Railgun being more popular than Index. It is rather sad to think about it. This event even proofs it as well, I wouldn't be surprised to see news floating around for Railgun 4 if this does well, since this a crossover with the Railgun side of A Certain Magical Index.

Light Novels are hard to make into Animes, not impossible, there's Jobless Reincarnation and Re:Zero but a lot of the time, content gets skipped over due to time. The arcs would have to be longer than they were originally. Even the Manga skipped Deep Blood and Body Swapping Arcs.

Support characters don't fight on the front lines in this game, Saten is a front liner. I guess guns really live up to their title of the great equalizer. This was a completely missed opportunity to get Misaka Imouto into a collab though... Oh well, guess I have 6 months to get ready for this then.

Lore wise: I love the fact that it makes sense for misaka and masaki to work with millenium academy, after all, most other academies are probably based on the magic side, while millenium closely resembles the science side the most

Them using guns is a necessity since Espers are basically no more powerful than any character from the BA universe. Since they are basically gods that can even survive falls from the top of high buildings and several types of weaponry. All those guns do is knock each other out after several rounds. Also, the funniest part is that the game already has her own “Railgun-user”. An Android who wields a gigantic rail gun built for a a spaceship.

Otherwise they would die pretty fast in Kivotos since like… guns. Not toy guns, actual live ammunition guns. Blue Archive lore is wild when you actually think about it.

Just leaving this comment here for those who dont play Blue Archive, and for those who played, good luck to all the Sensei that aims to get all the collab units Blue Archive is an all-girls student gacha game. As such, dont ever hope for Touma and Accelerator to be in the game unless theres a miracle. Even Sensei is ambiguous, bcs its you, Sensei represent you, so Sensei can be both gender. There is like no confirmed male between all students, playable, mob, and npc alike. If youre not a student, then youre a robot, and there are like 3 main types of robot depending on who you are, whether youre regular npc, army, or leader (and it can be divided further by where the robots come from but just read story at that point), or some dog-human, or straight up animal, or unexplainable beings. So tldr, no males exists in Kivotos 2nd, theres usually no extra collab students. If they show 3, we will only have 3. But the other collab is only Hatsune Miku all the way at the year 1 of BA, and it only has Miku on it, plus one song, so you can still hope there can be more, but honestly just bank on theres a 2nd part of the collab that will bring more collab students 3rd, yes Global server is 5 to 6 months delayed from JP. As such, if you want this collab then its much better to join Global server rather than JP. You can easily prepare for multiple banners beside the collab. For mid to late game player, you can guarantee one pick up unit per 3 months at the latest, 2 months at the earliest. Its one of the kinder gacha out there, so if you want to, start now. 4th, just a tiny tidbit, JP and Korean server are the most competitive servers for BA, if youre a competitive person but not a whale or even leviathan, the experience might be really horrible if you entered there

We’re fairly confident. Miku, the game’s first collab, came to Global on schedule, and they seem to be going for content parity between global and JP with the only difference being global lagging 6 months behind (and giving us time to save)

I know clickable title and all, but I do think this isn’t actually all that unexpected. The setting is a pretty much perfect match after all. For some more details on how the collab is going to work: Saten is a free unit. She’s given to you at 1 star and you can rank her up by playing the patch’s event. Misaka and Shokuhou are gacha-exclusive and must be rolled for. Global players have about 6 months to save up. There likely won’t be any other surprise playable characters announced at all. As for who all will show up in the crossover event story, nobody knows.
