It's also played during Tyrion's speech in the battle of Blackwater, which is a nice parallel with the actual meaning of the song. It becomes Tyrion's song for a brief moment to demonstrate that his leadership in the battle is somewhat comparable to Tywin defeating the Reyne-Tarbeck revolt.

@@tucolucious7128 well, they are a bit confusing, since the chapters aren't chronologically, but rather changing POVs, also it's a bit more disturbing since most people are younger there, but they are interesting nonetheless

The Rains of Castemere history is actually the most tragic song. It says about the clash between House Reynes and House Lannister. The Red Lion vs the Golden Lion. Tywin Lannister trapped the Reynes and everyone in their castle, they hid underground and Tywin flooded the castle and the Lannister army heard screams of everyone and after some hours there was piercing silence. Then he burnt the castle down. Hence the lyrics "And now the rains (Reynes) weep o'er his hall, with no one there to hear"

whenever played for Jamie its this dramatic, almost heroic theme. Meanwhile Cersei and thyrion always have a more subtle and often sinister version of it playing in their scenes. The different uses of it make it the best theme song in media

The starks' downfall was due to a lack of imagination. They live by honor. They just couldn't imagine being killed as guests, and couldn't imagine their bannermen turning on them. This couldv'e happened to ned as well, can't blame robb's inexperience for not seeing it. What's surprising is they didn't learn their lesson with littlefinger betraying Ned. They should've been distrustful of everyone, their bannermen and other allies too. Olenna asmits her lack of imagination too. Both Starks and Tyrells fell from the same fault. And then there's game of thrones itself that fell off because of d&d's lack of imagination or rather basic thought process while writing lol.
@nont184112 ай бұрын
First off, nobody knew that Littlefinger betrayed Ned. Second, nobody violated the guest rights before the red wedding. Third, who would have thought that Cersei would be so crazy to bomb a Vatican? If you are gonna blame the victims, you should blame the Lannisters instead for having no boundaries at committing war crimes what so ever.

They play it at the red wedding because they think they are ending the Starks the way they did the Reins. Arya slicing Freys throat was my favorite scene. Behind hotpie telling her Jon retook the north.

In my humble opinion there is only one Lannister that isn’t a villain and it’s Jaime. Book wise Tyrion is a villain fs. Book Jaime wants to be better and seeks redemption.
