I traveled with my uncle who then played with The Kingsmen Quartet and met Dottie and Reba when they were in my hometown for a concert. They came intio a store I worked at.I offered to drive them back to their bus. The next Sunday my fiancee and I were invited by Dottie and Reba to join them on their bus and,of course, their concert to sit and talk. It was a great time. She was a great lady, full of life, belief and positive attitude. I'll miss her greatly. Rick Robinson

Donnie is married to Reba. He's a wonderful singer/pianist. He lost one of his legs when he was 9yrs. old after being hit by a car on his bicycle. It's thru Gods mercy that he's where he is today. May God bless him and his family! ❤❤❤

I Love this song. But in the late 70’s- to the late 80’s I wasn’t crazy about how gospel music changed and went to more of a prefabbed, synthesizer sound. But the Rambo’s were so good.

56 thumbs down for an original. How pathetic? A first for me after hearing the Jimmy Swaggart version all these years. Nothing compares with his version at all, but then to hear the original blesses me beyond words. What a song!!!! Thank you Dottie and the rest of the family for you contribution to the Gospel Genre. God luv your hearts here on earth and in Heaven.

This isn't their original either, the music is very different. Maybe Donnie & Reba wanted the more contemporary arrangement to it, for a change? But its pretty awful, to be honest. The original music fits the song far better. It's much like the way Swaggart did it.

why do people get on here and start discussions about standards, homosexuality, adultery, gossip or anything else besides the quality of the music? That's all this is people! This is MUSIC and WORSHIP to GOD! NOT A DEBATE! And before anyone blasts me about any of these matters, yes I have an strong belief about ALL of these matters, but that's not what this is. It's not preaching, its not a conversation. It's simply people SINGING!

Pt. 2: It's sad that someone posted this great video here for us to enjoy the memory of the music & ministry of Dottie Rambo, and it's hijacked by religious ignorance about makeup. How sad and unfortunate that some are so blind. The same Scripture that tells you not to overly adorn yourself ALSO tells you what to adorn yourself with - a meek and quiet spirit. Practice the whole Scripture or none of it at all. Some so-called Christian people need to get saved.

Mserveto: Dottie remains to walk with the Lord and I'm not sure what you meant by your comment. The "tossed aside" comment was maybe the best wording, The Rambos were banned from singing in UPC churches after appearing on The Gospel Singing Jubilee even though they had obtained permission before doing so. When Dottie was first sick the leaders that did this visited her in the hospital to apologize.

Did you put any thought into this statement? As my grandmother used to say "Sweep around you own door steps before you go talking about someone else". Exodus 20:16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. One of God's ten commandments. Matthew 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Now you tell me. If you knew someone that was gay, would you judge them? Would you stick your nose up at them? Would you Love them? Would you befriend them? Would you Pray for them? Would you invite them to Church? It's not about standing for something, it is about doing God's will, not yours. Our hearts have got to be in the right place.

The KJV took on a form of inspiration and many people could not disassociate in their minds the original Hebrew/Greek texts that represent the inspired Word of God. We may joke today that "the KJV was good enough for Paul, so it should be good enough for me," but behind this statement is the belief of many. The KJV was a monumental work for its time and language exceptional; it is extremely literal and yet is written in a form of polished English not found in modern versions and translations.

im country bumpkin you sound a little bitter and judgemental yourself, take them beam from your own eye dear before you try and take the mote out of another's, let God seperate the chaff from the wheat, for in our fallen humanity we are not righteous enough to judge a single person for in our own humanity God alone bares our imfirmities our weakness and sorrows, instead of condemning those you obviously despise try instead to pray for them for if they are as you say then they may just need it.

Well for all thecomments about makeup the first woman to use it was Jezebel so that ought to tell you something about it. Secondly for the person who wrote that the Hoy Spirit hadnt convicted her yet, needs to relize that the Holy Spirit doesnt convict you your conscience does. So if sin hassnt bothered you it is not because God thinks your ok, its because you dont have a good Conscience. STudy to shew thy self approved unto God.

Part 4: The KJV stands as an important witness in the development of the Word of God in English, but it is best seen, as in the eye of the translators, as one landmark in the progression of the translation of the Word of God into English. The KJV translators took advantage of the work done before them and made an impressive edition; they would not want their translation to be enshrined as something it was not-- the only approved and God-certified Bible-- but as an important step in the...

If you're referring to Jn 8:9, you're on your way to Bible doctrine, but to believe a fallen, sinful human conscience can convict a sinner to salvation is error. It is the HOLY SPIRIT of God that convicts of sin: Jn 16:8-11, "And when he (Holy Ghost) is come, he will reprove (literal greek=convict) the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father... Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

Again you assume so much. If the scripture is only the ones penned in the original language then how do you know that . Have you ever read any scripture in the original "pen" And quit telling people that " God says" in your daily life and quote the KJV and then turn around and say well its not the word of God. Either it is true or its a lie, but you cannot have THE only truth and it be in error. No court in the world would allow a testamony to be heard with knowing errors and second hand info.

Pt. 1: How about this: IF YOU FEEL CONVICTED ABOUT NOT WEARING MAKEUP, THEN DON'T DO IT. But leave everyone else alone whom the Holy Ghost has apparently not convicted about such. If God deals with you - fine! Is He so inept in dealing with others about it that he needs your help to do so? I don't think so. God is capable of leading all, through his Word and the direction of the Holy Ghost, without the help of those who choose to make their personal convictions into doctrinal mandates for all.

Any one with a basic english grammer knowledge should know that "convict" and "reprove" are not the same. I can reprove you of sin but can I Convict you? the Bible tells us that reproof is better than secret love... But never are you told to convict someone of sin that doesnt even make sense if you try to use these two words as the same.

Part 5: ...understanding of God's Word for mankind. Today we have the advantage of better texts and better understanding of both Hebrew and Greek, and we in turn can have Bibles more accurate to the original authors. Let us continue to carry the torch lit so long ago and held by a long time by the KJV. Written by E. R. Longhenry, and I thought it stated things better than I could.

Part 2: ...knowledge of the translators of those languages was not always the best. 4) The printing procedures involved many errors in and of itself. 5) The translators themselves continued to use other Bibles. 6) The KJV was instrumental in the development of the English language and learning the English language. 7) The KJV became the Bible. This statement may seem odd on the surface, but it explains the ideology of KJV onlyism well. There was not felt a need to adapt or revise...

Oh yes, and the drunken bishops I referenced were the wine drinking translators hired by the king to create a translation which he alone had sole right to accept, reject or demand editing based on his own like or dislike of the text. Notice I said "bishopS". The "s" of course, denotes the plural form, meaning more than one. lol. That's a little different from your claim that I made it sound like there was only one translator. If you want to quote me, please do so accurately.

I just showed you ONE verse. John 16:8-11. I'm sorry to inform you that the KJV is NOT the inspired Word of God. The Word of God, as penned in its original language, IS the true Holy Ghost inspired Word. In John 16:8, the word "reprove" comes from the Greek word "elegcho" which literally means "to convict and/or reprove" (see Strongs #1651). The drunken bishops who translated the KJV chose to use reprove rather than convict, but the truth is, they are THE SAME word in the original language.

My, my... how proud of your ignorance you are. I said my comments were said "in love" to temper the truth which you would not, and obviously did not, receive. KJV was an English translation of a Latin translation - talk about second hand!?! In many cases, it is accurately translated from Greek/Hebrew into english, but in many cases it is not. So in essence, no translation in english is the divinely inspired word of God. Argue it all you wish, but facts are facts.

Buck had legal and perhaps scriptural grounds (if you believe Martin Luther' teachings) Willfully abandoning your spouse and denying them intimacy to the point your brain creates an illness. Is worse then adultery which for a man is just sex but also self worth. Sexless marriage is rent sharing.

inchrist999, I say this in love. You are bound in religious doctrines of men, which are no better than doctrines of devils. You're living by the fabricated rules of men and denying the rules of God. You choose to believe a wharped twisting of Scripture that, when examined, doesn't reflect the Word of God at all. You expect others to live by your erring understanding, and that's legalism. I was once where you are, but God set me free. I pray His light will shine and you can experience it too!

I'll digress after this point. Neither of us will convince the other. I claim to know nothing but Christ and him crucified. I seek to lead others to know Christ, and him crucified. I have been freed from the spirit of religion and legalism. You are bound by it and seek to lead others into your gross doctrinal errors, thus holding them in the bondage of extrabiblical laws of men. I pray you come to the realization that you are not saved by anything you have done, but you are saved by GRACE alone.
