Go Johnny, Go, Go, Go! Man..i miss these guys. I was born in 1981 and got my first Ramones album, Too Tough to Die, in 87 at the recommendation of a cool babysitter. Hehe. I was in grade 1 and remeber it very clearly. She also made me several mixed tapes of their stuff. After that, with the help of my parents, I collected their entire catalog (first on cassette and then bought them all on CD when I was older). That started a lifelong infatuation with the band. I consider myself fortunate for the fact that my parents hired that babysitter...as it saved me from getting into 'kiddy music'. It was always rock and metal...and still is to this day.

What a beautiful story mate. This babysitter was a very clever girl with exceptional taste. The Ramones is the greatest band that has ever existed so you are lucky for the early recommendation indeed

Saw these guys live many times in the late 70's through the early 80's. Grew up in NYC, (born in 1960). The were always playing in the tri-state area of NY,NJ and PA. Even saw the once at Great Adventure ( six flags in NJ, ), must have been 77 or 78. They " put on a good show", lively fast rock n roll. Still a favorite of mine.

This is my theme song. I will probably be late for my own funeral. :-p
