I did join a church group but it was more acquaintances. I think when you get over 50, most people have friends or like having their own time alone. A coworker once said, there's that nice loose friendship of a book club but then someone says, "Do you want to see this movie" and it's gets uncomfortable" I think it's because it's hard to make friends and share so many decades with new people. Someone else might jump on that invitation but what if outside of the group, you don't like the person? I guess for some easy friendships are just harder than when in twenties.

The advice given to the couple with the elderly parents seem to be outside of what Dave would say. I would think you would tell them to keep the 18,000 don't worry about taking care of the parents while they are alive in whatever care they need and the credit card and trailer payment would be on the back burner. Once they pass what they own stands for what they owe and say oh very little most of that debt will just disappear

I absolutely love the show and listening everyday and all the information and great advice. The attitude however from her on," if u wanted to speak to someone else other than myself or dr.john delony, you should have called another day!" That made me not want to tune in when she is hosting. That attitude is somewhat cocky and rudish to me. Some people on limited on when they are able to call, and advice from anyone of them is a great gift to learn to manage financial issues and situations. However , I'd rather her tone be not so smarty pants to people whom are calling at vulnerable moments with vulnerable advice. Just my option and they are like....buttholes. ha ha everyone have a great evening. Thanks for the show !!

@nomihagan yes her tone of the attitude of saying that is the only issue I have with her. Her advice is always great, as is johns, daves and all the other co hosts of the show. Just the way she said that comment in that tone was the only issue with her period. I don't know why running into someone like me would just be horrid? That's a issue for yourself because you run into opinionated people like myself and yourself daily and so far I would assume it's not been too bad running into people like "me". As per your comment. I'm a working mom of 3 boys of which one is battling for his life at the age of 19. I don't know how a simple comment on someone's tone makes such a bad person to run into, but whatever you say I suppose? To each Thierry own and have a great day.

90% of the calls they take are children aged 25-85 needing to learn how to think like an adult. Grown ups don't involve themselves in gaming or other addictive behaviors, so it can be difficult to relate. They don't have time to google things while they're taking a call. Depression glass isn't worth as much as it was a bit ago. It was produced very cheaply and was given away as a bonus nearly a hundred years ago, similar to like a toy in a cereal box, or a prize at a fair (yes there's "Carnival Glass" as well). Some people love it, but it's really just stuff. I started having anxiety because this guy has all of this stuff and his kids don't want to deal with it when he's gone. Does he really want to give his kids the impression that the stuff is more important than they are? If something happens to him, they will be so angry at him for leaving them with the mess of his stuff. Yeah, it took an expert 15 months to get rid of my dad's stuff, and none of that was retail. It's only worth what people will pay. And yes, we were angry.

Jade and John are demonstrating they have NO IDEA about high-value collections. It's all about rarity and condition. Ronnie, you don't call in to a radio show to get advice on valuable collections - this is an area that is NOT their expertise. You need advice from real experts. You have to decide if you want to sell through a bona fide auction house who will take about 40% of the sale or sell them one by one. This is NOT about John's story with older folks and their "stuff" around the house and this is not just about "things" that Jade is talking about. Your collections are in a totally different camp. You also have to take into consideration the tax ramifications of selling high value collections. My husband has been a serious coin collector for over 30 years and just sold a large part of his collection. You can easily get scammed, so be very careful.

@@flashthecorgi2053 I thought I had to respond to this one because it is an area where someone can make errors that are very expensive and it is an area of expertise for my husband. I hesitated to make a comment because I knew you would be stalking my name - but I felt like I had to warn him to be very careful. Actually, I wasn't listening to the show. My friend was listening and texted me to listen to the final call because she knows about my husband's interest in rare collectible coins and she asked me to comment before Ronnie made a serious mistake. I had to weigh that against knowing you had my name on speed dial and would be there with yet another snarky comment. And, yes, I did hear he doesn't particularly want to sell. However, he should sell when he can because these kinds of collections left to heirs who are not interested and know nothing about them can result in serious financial loss because there are so many charlatans out there.

Oh my gosh Ronnie! So much MTG !! I’d love to just see those cards! What he’s talking about is the stuff of legend! 😻 His one big ticket card is a Black Lotus those are super rare and Post Malone bought one recently for 800k!! Don’t go to a card shop! Sell it yourself to another person! The shops will rip you off!! Ps John he’s not over valuing his magic collection I can’t vouch for the rest. Dang that’s a neat call!

I thought that too. Neither of them "knew" and if they did, they'd probably swoon with how much those old cards are worth. And the unopened sets? Daaaaaang.

In the call at 1:46:56 why did Jade recommend taking $10000 and paying off the car loan when they should pay off the $4000 student loan debt first. That would eliminate a debt and leave them $8000 in savings. Then they could throw extra at the credit card which was $7000.

I personally avoid telling my parents about following the Ramsey principals. They gaspsed when I said I paid off and closed all my credit cards. Since I'm an adult living on my own, I simply just don't discuss it with them. It saves us all alot of stress.

He could’ve bought that book all by himself .. y’all better call him back and do better . C’mon now?

The Jordan call is a great example of the excellent teamwork of Jade and John! Dr. John Deloney truly is a guitar virtuoso in the literal way but also in an emotional sense. He has the talent to strum the exact right strings of the hearts of the people he speaks with. Whether it's delicately or firmly, he knows what tone needs to be added to compliment the songs of people's lives to make them nr 1 hits. You John are truly a Rockstar! You Jade are a soul Queen! This was an excellent show!Thank you🙏🏼☀️🎶

Unfortunately the truth this caller 36:52 is his wife can’t be a stay at home wife. 50% of her new Job she needs to get, will go to daycare but at least the other 50% will go to debt and in two years or less with his income also you will be debt free. & I know it can be don’t in less. But I’m positive in two years you Just might have your down payment for a house also. But in No way will you go to school to make 200$ a week extra after 5 years. Equivalent to 60 hrs at 22$. 38$ by 40hrs is 1520$. 22$ by 60hrs is 1320$ the math don’t work my friend. Not for 5 years of school. Simple math. He’s smart I know it. You can make 35$ working & going school somewhere else. I’m 100%. He sounds like a handy man. 40 hrs of work & 20hrs a week for a paid school at less than 2 years or less makes more sense. That’s an option always options available. Keep head up and make the sacrifice now at 20 years old. It’ll pay off! Be persistent positive & focused.

Shredding the cards was monumental. Emotional. Good job. The caller from San Diego making 250k. It just sounds like his wife just needs to budget with him. There is a lot of overspending. I live in San Diego and own, have two little ones and budget pretty well. Sounds like budget and lifestyle creep.

I have only had life insurance through work at 2 jobs. At my last job it was 1.5x my salary and my current employer its only 1x my salary. At this stage in our life, we are on steps 4, 5, and 6. The life insurance from my work would maybe cover about half our mortgage. I'm so glad we have separate policies because if anything happens we would be more than fine. It seems like overkill but we each have about a $1M policy. This would cover mortgage, loss in income and future investment contributions, raising kids, kids college, and everything else. I don't think people think past their death and those left behind.
