They mentioned the sealed bearings, i remember a farmer who still used a Ransomes Cavalier into the late 90s. He said he found he had to fit grease nipples to the drum bearings or he was forever having to change the bearings. Just to note they were quite big machines in their day. Not that i was alive but if you parked one next to a Massey or a Gleaner from the same era then you would really notice the difference. My friend recently bought a Ransomes 1001 combine, its an impressive size. You don't really notice until its parked with his other old combines.

Excellent video. Reminds me of the 902 working on the Quicke estate, Newton St. Cyres, Devon when I was a child although it soon looked a bit dated when a neighbour bought a new Massey 410!

I think it was a wise move on Ransome's behalf to pull combine production and stick to ride on mowers.
