When they say crazy and noisy is a reference to what people say that Ateez performances and their music are. Seonghwa's line "But yes, oh my doctor said There's a lot of room left to grow" comes from the endoscopy wanteez episode. The Dr told Hwa that he has a large stomach but it also means that they are still hungry even with 5 years in and with all there accomplishments and they wanna grow more. Hongjoong's line "If you want to put a GPS, put it on a suitcase, not on a carnival, You can be busy too" is a references to 2021 where they found GPS trackers on their Kia Carvial. So Hongjoong raps says how they should have put GPS rather in their luggage cause they are always travelling around the world so it's useless to put them on their cars and they should better get a life and be busy. Ateez is my first band that I started listening to, I only recently became them, but I already really love them. This is my favorite unit song. It has so much meaning. For example, in the video, those same people in black represent stalkers and crazy fans who spy, kidnap, film illegally, and get into the idol’s personal space. Hongjoong and Seonghwa are my biases. Hongjoong is the leader of the group, as you know, he really hooked me when I first saw their video. In the group, he is considered the 3rd most popular after Wooyoung and San. Their agency was not an entertainment agency, and they did not create K-pop groups. Because of this, Hongjoong was the very first trainee in this agency and trained alone for 6 months. After that, people called him “captain”; now the participants often call him captain, or leader. Atiny often jokes that he is the richest member due to the fact that he has copyrights. That is, he has created a lot of about 90 pieces since his debut. He himself is a fashionista and a designer, he has often created clothes in the past and the members themselves call him the most fashionable member from ateez. It was because of him, as they say, that the skirt-pants fashion came into K-pop because Hongjoong often dressed like that at performances. In the group, he is considered a father because once before debut, they went to a tarot reader, and she said that he had the aura of a father, a leader, protection outside the house. Hi ! Thank you for reacting ! To explain some lore behind the lyrics and mv, they are dissing a bit of everybody (general public hate comments, fake fans, stalkers, etc.). • Haters: you can hear it in the pre-chorus more specifically with the “they are so loud” “they make me dizzy” comments bc it’s something they constantly get criticized about • Fake fans + stalkers : There are multiple layers to it. - You got the shadow figures that follow them everywhere and kidnap them at the start. - Then, they are chained by time at the center of a stage with cameras constantly on their faces and shadow people around watching them through the screens - You also see them on stage and weirdly the shadow people are positioned around the stage (some even waving their symbolic pirate flag) and in a brief moment you can see some UNDER the stage, so probably referring to staff (kq or from other shows they appeared on, we’ll never know) too - Also, Hongjoong mention a gps that ‘they’ (he says ‘you’ in the lyrics) should have put directly on his suitcase, not on a carnival (name of a car). He is directly addressing the stalker that put a gps in their company car in 2021 and telling them to next time put it on his suitcase and follows it by “you can be busy too”. Probably to mock them with sarcasm. And since earlier in the 1st first, he said that they are constantly traveling, I hear it as “I’ll give you something to follow since you’re looking for something to do” 😂 Lastly, the song also has a lot of references to their late achievements but that it’s not over yet (cf. To Seonghwa saying “we’re already doing good but the doctor said I have way more room to grow”) MATZ is so cool and in your face in terms of references and it’s still subtle in a way that I bet some bars hide way more than we think and we will probably only find it out later 🔥 If you’ve read all the way through here, thank you so much. one of the reasons I think Hongjoong gives GD vibes is because he has a more 2nd Gen style visual. As a 2nd Gen Stan when I first got into Ateez I would swear Hongjoong's face felt so familiar. He is unique of course but his face is like an amalgamation of 2nd Gen and early 3rd Gen. IDK if other fans remember the Dinosaur visual lines of Kpop? Hongjoong belongs in the Dinosaur Visual line! 4th and 5th gen visuals now don't have idols with dinosaur features. 🥴🥵 Hongjoong is so attractive he makes me go crazy.
