I think it will be the ones who believe in the pre-trib rapture because they aren’t expecting to be here for the great tribulation the anti-Christ brings. I hope God spares us but either way, I know I’ll endure till the end (or my end) with my faith intact, “looking for that blessed hope”.

@@IronSharpensIron127 so this is what I found online in terms of a non rapture belief : Hebrews 9:28 is the only scripture that assigns numbers to Christ’s comings to earth: “Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many [the first coming]. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time [the second coming], apart from sin, for salvation.” The Bible teaches two distinct comings. There is no third coming mentioned here or anywhere else in the Bible. But could this “second time” be referring to a secret rapture when believers are taken to heaven? The text clearly describes the second coming as an appearing-not a secret! The Greek word translated “appear” is revealing. It is optanomai-the root being op, from which we get such English words as optic and optical. The meaning of optanomai is to look at, to behold, to appear or to allow one’s self to be seen. The same word is used in Acts 1:3 about Christ “being seen by them during forty days” after His resurrection. In the Olivet Prophecy, after describing the signs of the Great Tribulation, Jesus taught: “Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see [optanomai] the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory” (Matthew 24:30). The next verse describes the gathering of the elect from around the globe by “a great sound of a trumpet” (verse 31). Revelation describes Christ’s second coming similarly: “He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see [optanomai] Him” (Revelation 1:7). From these scriptures, it’s clear that Christ will return one more time-a second time-in a visible way. There will be nothing secret about it. The rapture scripture that isn’t The most often quoted scripture to defend the rapture is found in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17. In fact, the originators of the theory derived the word rapture from the phrase “caught up,” based on the Latin word rapere used in the Vulgate version in verse 17. So, for the rapture to be true, this verse has to describe a secret coming that precedes the visible coming described in the above verses. In 1 Thessalonians 4 the apostle Paul is comforting a congregation grieving recent deaths (verse 13). Paul assures them that “we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep [dead]” (verse 15). The Bible teaches that the dead are asleep in their graves, awaiting a future resurrection-not in heaven. But when does the resurrection happen? At a secret rapture? Verse 16 makes it crystal clear: “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.” Jesus Christ’s coming will be seen and heard by everyone. @@carolmiglionico3870 👍 I got really picky about translations and did a bit of research and it seems to be the most accurate true-to-history translation with original Greek, Hebrew, or Aramaic. If you want the hardcopy versions these are the two. The OT version, one of the translations that confirmed it was in the commandments in the difference of wording KJB "thou shalt not kill." to ESV "you shall not murder." Hebrew-English Interlinear Old Testament: Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia (BHS) / English Standard Version (ESV) The Greek-English Interlinear ESV New Testament: Nestle-Aland Novum Testamentum Graece (NA28)

It is completely clear that in chapter 24 of Mathew he is talking to his disciples about the end of the world. He then goes to say that after the tribulation he is coming.

Caution, Beloved of Christ!!. John is a very gifted and knowledgeable Bible teacher. However, he sometimes teaches contrary to the Bible, claiming, a "Pre-Tribulation" Rapture; and salvation, other than by Grace alone (Eph 2:8-9). Before I ask this question, please know that I'm not at all an authority on the Bible, I'm just trying to know God and Jesus, understand His Words, and pray (though I don't deserve it) to be counted as worthy when Jesus comes back for His Church/Bride. That being said, here's my question to post-tribulation believers: If His Bride is not going to be raptured up before the tribulation, then what happened to the thief on the Cross? Are we to believe that the thief will be the only person not to be forced to endure the Tribulation? I'm not saying I know the answer to this question, I'm still learning... but it seems to me that if the thief on the Cross joined Jesus in Heaven that night, then I would think the thief is still in Heaven now... which is pre-tribulation by a couple thousand years. So if the thief was saved from end times, then wouldn't it be safe to say Jesus' bride will be too? Just an honest question. Jesus tells us in Matthew 24, Luke 21,and Mark 13 what to look for before his coming. The sun and moon go dark, which happens on the 4th trump. The 4th trump is the last trump of tribulation.The 5th, 6th, and 7th trumps are wrath. This gives us an about time, not the day or hour. The "elect" does not mean the Jewish people only. The Book of John has two main section. The Lords's intention in chap. 14 was to bring man "into" God for the building of His dwelling place. But between man and God there were many obstacles, such as sin, sins, death, the world, the flesh, the self, the old man, and Satan. For the Lord to bring man into God, He had to solve all these problems. Therefore, He had to go to the cross to accomplish redemption that He might open the way and make a standing for man., that man might enter into God. This standing in God, being enlarged, becomes the standing in the Body of Christ. Salvation culminates at His second coming where the righteous dead are resurrected and the righteous living are changed. All receive their reward on that day. The wicked living die from the brightness of His coming. After the 1000 years are ended, then Jesus resurrects the wicked dead to their judgement of destruction. (Rev 20).

I can see why people believe in a pre-trib rapture. But the disciples asked him about the sign of his coming, not comings, and the end of the age. He never mentioned a pretrib rapture and neither did Paul. Paul said the rapture happens at his coming (see 1 Thess. 4:15). Although such a thought of a pretrib rapture gives us comfort, God is faithful to protect his own in judgments (see Ps. 91).

I agree that there aren’t multiple “comings”. But I believe the verse you mentioned is the rapture. The verses do not describe a returning to earth but rather the calling forth of his bride and we will me him in the air. This is according to Jewish wedding customs. His second coming (to earth) doesn’t occur until after the tribulation (revelation), when Christ returns to reign for 1000 years. The Church (Bride of Christ) will be with him when he returns to earth. That’s the way I understand it anyway.

Seems odd to me. And we really have no reason to assume Paul was speaking of a different coming in the first place, do we? The wedding custom is a possibility, another is the conquering king returns from battle with the spoils of war and those in the city go out to meet him and accompany him into the city. First, I agree on the few teachings I’ve seen from this platform, especially on Genesis 6, one of the best in my opinion, however I respectfully have to say this teaching is flawed. You took Rev. 3:20 as the impetus to support your pre-trib rapture theory, however if you read just one more verse even, Jesus said, he (the believer)who overcomes, will be allowed to sit with Him, (Jesus). Before that, Jesus standing at the door is simply indicating Jesus waits for us to invite Him into our lives. This has absolutely nothing to do with a rapture. Key take away here is endurance. Jesus taught endurance, not escape and evasion, which is a very westernized feel good, and taught doctrine, not scriptural. Jesus Himself said in Matthew 24:29, that AFTER the tribulation of those days, following cosmic signs/events, then He will come. There is not multiple comings, as scripture states, THE coming, not, A coming. Revelation 13 also points out the endurance of the Saints during the persecution that comes from the antichrist. Much more I could expound upon, but we must be students of the Bible, like a Berean, and not just eat what’s being fed by just anyone, we need to know the contents ourselves. Jesus did warm emphatically about deception and false teachers, something to think about. As under-shepherds of Jesus, we really need to be careful in how we are leading and teaching the flock, and to not prepare them for endurance, but escape and evasion, is very dangerous, as their faith may falter if faced with these difficult times with false expectation. Yes, there will be absolutely a glorious return, but your timing is off. And, we are not appointed to God’s wrath, primarily eternal separation, and God can and has protected His people, just like He did the Israelites during the plagues of Egypt, in the land of Goshen. Estimates range of how many people have lived on this Earth. Some say roughly 50 Billion people to this time which means 42 billion people have lived and died. When Jesus returns and the harpazo takes place, nearly all people that have lived on this Earth will have passed away which suggests that most of the Christians that have lived on this Earth have passed away at that time. It is spelled out quite clearly that when Christ returns the dead in Christ will rise first and then those that are alive and remain will be caught up. But that is when Christ returns. If there is a secret pre-second coming of Christ, please point this out in the Bible. And besides that you have Paul telling the gentiles in Thessalonica that they didn't miss anything at that time in the 1st century. Christ will not return until the Mass Apostacy and the Anti-Christ appearing in the temple of God (the third temple) claiming to be God. {Think about it, when were the words of the Bible put together and written down - before 70 AD or after?} And we know that this will not happen, what most people refer to as the rapture, until the Anti-Christ has taken control of the world governments and makes a peace treaty with many nations for a seven year period. In the middle of that seven year period he will cause the sacrifices to cease. What sacrifices? The sacrifices that the old testament Jews will be making in the third temple in Jerusalem. Those sacrifices will end when the abomination of desolation enters the temple and causes the sacrifices to cease. Jesus tells them to flea and not go back to their homes. These events have not happened and we don't know how close they are to happening. Could be years, could be decades. But we know when the final seven year period begins. It begins with the seven year peace treaty with many nations. The great tribulation begins 3 1/2 years after that when the Anti-Christ appears in the temple claiming to be God. The only thing we know for sure about the timing of the harpazo is that it will not happen until after that time. Glad to set the record straight.

I believe what John is teaching here. I am not certain that John 14 is the best proof text for the rapture. Could that not be as we die individually? Jesus likened his coming to the days of Noah and Sodom and Gomorrah. Jesus himself shut the door to the ark and he met Abraham just as he decided to destroy Sodom. Noah and Lot were saved. Jesus said that he was coming at a time when ye think not. He said people would be eating and drinking and given in marriage. Does that sound like a time when half the world’s population has just died? I think the greatest harvest of souls will occur in the tribulation including the remnant of Israel who will call upon the Lord and recognize he who was pierced for our sins, the Lamb of God. As some have said, I will try to live my life as though Christ can return any moment but be spiritually prepared to die if need be in the tribulation. I think there will be a pre tribulation rapture but it is possible to be wrong, I am human.

Ribera dreamt up pretrib rapture. 2 more Jesuit Priests, Manuel De Lacunza(wrote a book under the pen name "Juan Josafa(Rabbi)Ben Ezra in 1791 & Luis De Alcazar wrote a commentary "The Investigation of the Hidden Sense of the Apocalypse" supporting Ribera. The Jesuits passed their doctrine to Edward Irving/Scottish Presbyterian & forerunner of the Pentecostal & Charasmatic movements. In Irving's congregation was a 15 year old girl, Margaret MacDonald who had a series of visions in the 1830's. These visions supported pretrib rapture & Ribera. It was John Nelson Darby who spread the false doctrine in America. Next came Cyrus Ingerson Scofield who was heavily influenced by Darby. Scofield interwoved Futurism/Pretrib rapture into his Reference Bible. By 1930 over 1million copies were in circulation & the Futurism/Pretrib rapture doctrine became part of mainstream American Christianity. Scripture has been manipulated to fit the rapture doctrine. I must give credit to Warrior4Jesus for most of this history. Brother, you are so far off. John 14 says what? That Jesus is going away to prepare a place for all who believe. And he will receive us to himself that where he is we will be. BUT, just before receiving us he said what? “I will come again.” If your pretrib rapture is true, why didn’t he say…” i will come bring or take you to where i am.” When Yeshua steps out onto the clouds, He is coming! The historical church fathers did NOT believe in a pretrib rapture…look them up!

Since you bring up the church at Philadelphia, do you take Rev 3:10 as a pretrib proof scripture because the church isn’t mentioned again until late in Revelation?
