That nation is EU4 Armenia, one of the only coptic formable nations. We start as EU4 Karabakh, one of the EU4 hardest nations to start as, and we're going to fight off the EU4 Ottomans, EU4 Qara Qoyunlu and even the EU4 Mamluks in our quest for the holy sites!

For the future laith: while in the Independence war Curry favours with your allies, hence if they have at least 35 trust with you they won't break the alliance (exception is when they rival eachother in that case choose one)

Hey, if you're planning a part 3, try to upgrade the great project in Tblisi. At level 3, you get -100% fort maintenance for the ENTIRE REGION. That's like 38 forts, half of which are moutains, for less than 4 ducats a month.

I'm 25 minutes in and you already mentioned a part two is ready, but please build some ramparts if there's a potential part 3. Not 100% sure if that extra 1 attrition for enemies lifts the cap beyond 5% or just help with getting there, but I think it would be neat.

Ever since they added the +1 dice roll for defenders to ramparts I've loved them. Slapping one down on a mountain fort makes it a -3 for whichever poor sod thinks he can siege it.

It's super random for how well you do in the beginning. I've gotten the same start as you, where QQ gets into a civil war and loses that war. Then I just swoop in. But I also had AQ full annex Georgia so I couldn't get them. But I did get Shirvan instead. And then everyone allied each other to contain me and that was fun. Just took a long time but Russia and Mamluks held me down.

Was happy to see this video while I'm mid-playthrough of Armenia I started the other day. Thought I was doing pretty good until I saw him beat the Ottomans in the 1400s and here I am in 1508 staring them down with the Mamluks and Muscovy waiting for the chance to eat their Eastern half and Crimea. Think what slowed me down is that Laith was able to full-annex Georgia, where Aq allied the Ottomans and ate half of them before I could. I have however taken all of Iraq Arabia before the Mamluks got there. Also slowly chipping away at the remains of Aq Quyunlu in Northern Iraq and Syria through wars constant wars with Sirvan since they allied the Ottomans. I would make Aq cancel, but I don't want to free up more provinces for the Ottomans to just eat in my direction.

I love this. I tried playing Kharabakh and just survive enough to form Armenia in the past, but it was almost impossible: you had terra incognita in Ajam and the Persian region so they couldn't help you in the independence war, when (IF) you got the Mamluks supporting you and you declared, 50% of the times they would get out of the war because they weren't able to siege and attack properly so then you'd get occupied and that was it. If you managed to get independence and grab a couple of provinces you would get a fuckton of Sunni, Armenian (as in the Nation) and Azerbaijani rebels which would destroy your manpower, you had no economy at all and if you managed not to go bankrupt (which happened almost every time) you would get destroyed by the Ottomans that in the meanwhile managed to border you and get claims on you. Being able to play Armenia and having a nice mission tree is wonderful

I am still unsure if I understand the Monument in Tiflis correctly. It says that at stage 2 the upkeep for Forts in the Region is -100%. But when I click on the region mode, the region is all of caucasus - which ist the complete north of this particular armenia. Does this really work? Can I build a complete region of castles, sit back and watch my enemies die in the mountains?
