Bad things does always happen its just like the storm It only last for a couple days and then the sun start shining. ffs I am tired of people thinking its a song for depression or for nostalgia, in reality its just a song for atheism, the "sure its a calming notion" part is the meaning that the afterlife is a calming idea, and the " perpetual in motion " part meaning that its eternal. the "oh back when i was younger part" doesn't mean nostalgia, it means that when he was younger other people his age told him that once he dies, he will be into hell. that makes sense why the " that my end will be torture beneath the earth " part is in that. so the whole meaning of the song is that, the afterlife isn't real and people think its true but the singer says that its all a lie. if you go deeper into the song lyrics, at the end you'll see the part: " for every shining second, the fragile body beckons. ". that part means that every second that we have is beautiful and precious, and we should spend them as to their fullest potential. this means that we aren't getting younger and when we age we should spend as much fun as we could. so there is your explanation. the song is an atheism song that means that simply by living its anti-religion ideas, they can accomplish the goals they could ever do by believing in the afterlife. because of his appreciation for life with his anti-religious ideas, he could achieve greater goals in life
