a hilarious thing to note about them banning theb at 9:57 is that they had been fighting that cheater I kid you not for nearly the ENTIRE stream (a over 2 hour stream). They kept coming back so Crud and Theb just used them as a content farm and even after Crud AND THEB read out and showed both their names over a dozen times, they get to keep cheating over Theb simply because at the time he was at the top of the SoT category with over 1k concurrent viewers.

Of course finding modern proof of this is impossible, but it's how he made content on KZbin. By highlighting the toxic people, and making fun of them, is a service to this game. If viewers see these people who talk like that are embarrassing themselves, they won't mimic this toxic behavior. As people do in an argument, they try and find things to pick apart. When I said "isn't even all that toxic," I was implying he isn't toxic, but isn't sunshine and rainbows either. The worst thing he does is casually swear, but that's part of Australian culture. Maybe if you consider the criticism he gives "Rare" as toxic you would be right, but that criticism comes from a love for this game. all he wants is for it to be better, by providing valid criticism.

After spending the last 2-ish years taking the occasional glance back into the sot community and it's news, I'm honestly amazed Rare has managed to stoop even lower than I remember them going. I mean, we all know that Rare employees aren't above snooping around outside of the boundaries of their game to look for reasons to get rid of people they don't like, but them abusing KZbin's copyright system to silence content creators that they perceive as making them "look bad" is a whole new level of low for them. Anyone can see Theb didn't do anything to warrant his channel being terminated, and Rare's willingness to be this blatant about their contempt for him that they're willing to file false copyright claims against him, it goes beyond Rare just being sticklers about their rules, but expressing genuine hatred towards Theb in particular because they know they can't do anything to keep him off their game. All of this, even when they willingly continue to harbor FAR worse actors than him within their game. It's an absolute travesty and Rare should be ashamed of themselves. Makes me glad I jumped ship.

Anyone asking about an update: YT channels are still gone. Counter claim attempt underway. Theb still will be streaming on twitch (not sot though) for now. Regardless of your opinions on the guy, the initial sot ban shouldnt have been permanent, and straight up copyright striking a channel into deletion insteas of atleast doing a cease and desist is the wrong way to go about things as a company, and sets an awful precedent.

theb's situation perfectly encapsulates my unease at the zero tolerance, unforgiving nature of modern gaming moderation. People shouldn't be made into a permanent pariah for making mistakes, especially when they're at a young age. Being a teenager is all about testing boundaries and rebelling, teenagers shouldn't be afraid to make mistakes as how else will they learn from them? If you're this heavy handed, no learning can occur in my opinion. That being said, breaching the Insiders NDA was pretty stupid and petulant, rationalising it as "well they'll ban me anyway" runs counter to the assertion that you've changed and are not a liability anymore. By breaching NDA, you're just handing Rare a stick to beat you with.

Don't stop at just forgiving Theb, forgive EVERYONE! (Unban everyone) I'm not kidding, Cheaters will ban evade no matter what rare does. Toxic people and cheaters would just get banned again, and anyone who was seriously sorry for their actions won't do it again. Of course this would require better stated rules, and better stated punishments. Mass reporting would also need to be fixed, but it's the best thing for the Sot community in the long run. Short term may suck, but after a month things will become better. Some cheaters would stop cheating, toxic people would look back and realize how embarrassing they were. i joined this silly game about 2 and a half years ago. it was fun, different and it started my love for online gaming. i was the most noobiest noob and didnt know how to protect myself without just leaving the game outright. i kept going, brought my best friend along for the ride. and through her and this game, i met the love of my life (sad way i know lmao). he then introduced me to the silly site of twitch, and this silly pirate called theb and an absolute sweetheart called crud. as of maybe say a year in, the game honestly started going to shit in my vision. the content was lacking, the game kept encouraging you to do near impossible achievements (shrouded what now?) and it felt like a drag to keep playing. the company has in all honesty gone to all trash and it fucking sucks. rare have turned into absolute fucking babies when it comes to the Australian community. i even remember them even saying OCE did not have many, if any at all cheaters? i was on a silly little 'list' as 'girl' and im in a video over reacting lol. instead of going after the cheaters, and those very videos and youtube accounts. they go for the man who in all honestly, single handedly made this game SO much more fun to play. i remember watching thebs video on how to quick switch and actually LEARNED how to do it (rip og quick switch) rare needs to pull their fingers out of their asses, get off their high horse and realize how absolutely ridiculous they are looking right now. i've had more fun watching thebs stream's, then i ever will watching their cringe ass ones they do every once in a while. #freetheb (ps, i absolutely love the both of you guys, no matter what happens, ill be on your side. stay forever a smelly pirate o7)

Sniped a few streamers, humbled some pirate egos, and used a little sarcasm in the bio. The one employee didn’t like how slick that was, so they took action. Then ban evasion and 120 FOV made it hopeless for any future negotiations. That’s rough. I think of Theb as a voice for the regulars. Truly a shame the petty and sensitive always get the last laugh.

Is it just me, or does Rare have such a hard on for shutting down Theb because every single upload is a showcase of their failure to curb cheaters and stabilize their game? Why else would they have what appears to be a dedicated "ban this guy in particular" policy? I'm so glad i caught that stream live, witnessing Rare ban our boi in the middle of spanking cheaters through skill alone was why I no longer care if this game lives or dies.

Theb was the only sot content creator I have ever watched, and had always hyped me up into playing the game everyday. I hope he gets his channel back, I am a active watcher :(( Rare would be the type of player that would report a player for stealing their loot!
