Just wanted to give a heads up. You will want to update this video as the first and last spawns for obsidian no longer exist in game. Only the second one with the vukah cave is still in the game.

the obsidian from the first section was moved, still within the vicinity. you would have to climb up the canyon, a little passed the town (to the left). I will try to get a screenshot of where I found it.

thats new to me. well its still early access and most of the map isnt even open yet, im sure we can find other forms of ores like gold, silver, or even some fantasy metals that they can just make up. imagine the real endgame armor set.

If you could start your videos on the map where most of us build our (first outpost) it would help out a lot. Then, move on the map where you wish to start your next resource find we could follow along with you. Most of us maybe have played less than twenty hours and need your help. Zooming in to your starting point also helps out a lot. Just my 2 cents worth but I really think you're doing an awesome job with your video's. You're my first place for a resource guide.

If you haven't unlocked the spires yet, then it doesn't matter. That's task 1 each time you enter a new area.

I just gotta say your videos is spot on man, you have helped me immensely with farming and stuff. I just wanna add I can't stop playing this game, the mining is fun, the survival aspect is fun although the survival is very light which I like. The game is beautiful in all its landscapes. The combat is fun, just everything about this game is so freaking awesome! 81 hours and counting!

I am gonna say the same thing, plus the building aspect is amazing in this game. They did an amazing job. I might have to make a video just showing my base. I have one of the best views. The only thing that is kind of annoying is how expensive tin is or bronze. I almost bled the tin spot at Small Cave with Shroud Root dry twice and that was more decorations. It's an awesome game. I am gonna be going well over 100hrs within the next week. My base will probably be done then.

@allanon93 I haven't gotten to tin and bronze yet. Still early game coming into mid game some. I did get ghost glider other day, greatly helps when moving around. Found a spot up northwest by a big Gate that isn't passable it seems on a cliff with a beautiful view and been building alot. Farming alot too. Level 12 atm.

SO there's a farm that I took over SE of the Pillars of Creation and E of Hillock . I only mention this place as with a few furnishings added to the building on the farm , you can get an easy 51 minute rested bonus . I also seem to have cut down a tree that had a honey in as now in that spot I find honey and wax from time to time .

Thanks for the info. Are you using a macro to cancel glide and then glide and uplift again or just spamming right click and space bar super quick? I always seem to get input lag that causes me to lose more height than I'd like.

you can use a macro but make sure youre not using a shield so its smoother

Location number 2 is exactly where I've built my base. I used the hammer tool building foundations to flatten out the hilltop, didn't even see the obsidian.

Steel would make sense as the next type of bar, since iron is needed to make steel. I wander if you will make steel sheets and bars? The obsidian is interesting and hope we can make some cool things with it.

I don't understand why obsidian needs to be so hard to mine. Sure its harder than iron, but unlike iron, its super brittle and breaks as easily as glass. Like, if you hit it with an iron pickaxe irl, the pickaxe would win quite easily.

o.0 I did not have any of this, I thought it was not in the game yet, now makes me wonder if steel is actually secretly hidden somewhere in the game or the recipe for it at least. I have done all the quests only a few spots on the map to go finish (shroud roots) but I have basically spent the last 40-60 hours just base building, working on a 140 x 140 castle. Just did a double check currently at 138 hours in game atm.

highly unlikely that steel will be mined, steel is a craftable normally in every game using iron and carbon/coal. It will probably be the same as the bronze recipe later on.

I apologize for the vague answer. Your comment reminded me there are two Sun Temples on the map. :p If you can make your way to the Kindlewastes Fast Travel Ancient Spire (Eastof the Pillars of Creation), fly to the far South and you will see the large temple in the distance. Can't miss it. :)

Also on my second playthrough now..and you can pretty much kill everything wearing only rag armour, the bone wand and wooden sheild ,all of which you craft at the beginning of the game.Its also possible to unlock all but 1 spire without using better gear or summoning any of the sleepers even if you have all of them collected. The sheild is seriously OP, and needs nerfing.Holding up the sheild in block and using a wand you can tank any damage bar area magic damage and kill them with a wand.The wand is the only weapon that when been used doesnt lower the sheild allowing enemy to attack.

i consider mage in all games to be easy mode, and it really is, my first play through was mage, i 100% the game within 40 hr's with about 6 of that being the game left open while i had a sleep. i decided to do a second play through as melee tank, sheild and sword, holy shit the differencec is night and day, melee im constantly having to press attack then quickly press block because when u lower ya shield to attack u must reclick right click to bring ya shield back up, when being a mage you don't even slower ya shield at all, also the dmg difference is just insane, i kill the lvl 30 big poison throwing dudes in about 2 seconds flat with eternal acid bite. ( also i never run ot of mana) so i can stand there constantly spaming acid bite. melee is nowhere near the dps, or survivability for that matter. melee you have to be rdy to whip out that staff with that eternal healing spell or else ya gunna burn through all ya health pots and foods from dying

@@thomashorne8096 yes melee is harder but also very do able. The enemy have the exact same attack patterns and you can easily beat them. Once they start an attack they do not change their routine or action until its complete. Block and wait for the action to begin, then simply either move back out of range or better yet, roll behind them and strike from behind for backstab bonus. Archers have the ability to slow time and shoot even when they jump which is OP. This is do-able to all enemies. Those that shoot or have throwables, simply move around them in a large circle, they can not track or predictively hit you. This can also all be done with the wooden shield,rag armour and any average weapon/plenty of bandages helps too. I am now at the stage where i only play to build, since the build mechanics are superrb and limitless.

@@thomashorne8096 i also didnt even bother to upgrade mage that high for most of those spells as its not required and put points into other areas. I love this game but it serverly needs balancing.An enemy need multiple different attacks which can be random once engaged.

The wand actually does lower the shield but only for a tiny moment during the attack animation, just like how the shield is lowered for a moment when you get hit (why you can't block 2 simultaneous attacks), this is why you will stun enemies with the immediate block if they attack you at the same time.

@@theguru143 Just cancel gliding (right mouse) and quickly press spacebar again. You can do this pretty much endlessly with the +20 mana generation ring. Only stamina is the limit then. Also great for climbing hard to reach area's as you can quickly ascent with this trick if you are quick enough. Having a wand equipted makes canceling and gliding again pretty much instant.

I know of another location, and it still works. High in the mountains, north of the bandit camp "Cradle of Dusk", in the north-west of Nomad Highlands fast travel tower. There is a Vokah camp/mini cave just like the second spot in this video. Mine in the same rough location of the mini cave and there's a chest and some Obsidian too. Kinda copy paste of your #2 location in this vid.

I mean because black volcanic glass is so useful as a game trope, some jewelry, and primitive melee weapons from cultures near volcanic beaches. Rather mine uraninite or pitchblende for the magical power of the weak nuclear force or super dense metals. You are not inhuman, so perhaps are not worried about breathing in alpha and beta emitting dust.

Just join someone else’s open game and craft it at their bench. Once you log back into your game it will still be in your inventory.

I can't believe Palworld is outselling Enshrouded on Steam. Not only are the KZbinrs making videos for Palworld farrrrr more obnoxious, but it's a derivative rip-off game. It's fairly smooth, but Enshrouded has everything else (including Nightingales) beat hands down. En. has such a polished look, it feels like a Zelda game. There are some serious imbalances still, but they'll work them out. Thanks for the obsidian heads up.... there is a LOT to discover in this game. There is something to be said for NOT watching how-to videos and gear rank lists, but it's encouraging to know so much is out there. And it only cost like $25! That continues to shock me.

Maybe a forum is a better place for this additional comment, but there are some balance issues I'd like to see addressed. One is for bow-users. I think there should be some feature to enable enhanced arrow construction. Maybe not in the skill tree, but as a feature of gear... maybe a quest for the Hunter would give the player +5 or +10 arrows created from the normal recipe... an efficiency technique. I think the melee classes should have a fast acting crowd control ability. I really appreciate the Enshrouded devs' work, but playing melee in late game is beyond my ability. Maybe I have to improve, but currently I have to place a flame altar and repair bench, save up a bunch of gear, potions, wait for day time, tweak my hotbar for each zone, and use all of my faculties to not die very quickly. Boohoo, you say? Perhaps, but if there isn't a difficulty setting, then perhaps there should be a bit more wiggle room. For example, the skill tree prohibits balanced builds because you have to choose one thing over another and the skill points are in short supply. Maybe if you got MORE skill points? Then you could take advantage of more of the perks and utilize a bow and melee weapon to great effect. And, what about hitting from behind? How on Earth is that done?! At night, hiding in the bushes allows a single hit!? Realistic yes, and I love it, but a build based around sneaking up behind something with a melee weapon is NOT going to work. At least, it is beyond my abilities.
