Honestly I believe that people who played these events and got them legitimately deserve some kind of compensation, like a skin for example, just imagine if they went full-on in on the ROR2 aspect of Commando and gave him a Hornet skin (ROR2 Commando Skin) which is exclusive to people who beat the original Area 51 event 😊

i had halloween hunter from the code, infact ive had nearly every skin for a long time. the old christmas skins did look better. as the xmas rocketeer used to shoot a present with a special reload animations. and the xmas mini used to shoot candy canes.

I think a nice solution to this problem would be reworking events and making NEW towers similar to the old ones so that you get something at least sort of like the old one. For example lets say they redid the area 51 event, instead of giving commando it would maybe give us a laser type futuristic troop instead. Or maybe a summoner?

I dont mind tds rereleasing old things but I feel like the players that played back then loose value of the stuff. I myself had a bunch of the old skins and now everyone gets them cuz of the re-release and my account isn't very special anymore... Same thing with the event towers, I obtained years ago they just go ahead and sell them... It is kind of annoying. At least give us something to make our accounts different from the others if ur rereleasing old stuff. What's your opinion?

I played the game back in 2019, and my biggest regret is not getting all of those Halloween skins. Sure I got scarecrow pyro and Witch medic but I find those are honestly quite ugly compared to the rest. Also my stance on bringing back old skins is; If the skin looked ugly or mid before, I would gladly take a common skin just to make it look better, for example when the pumpkin minigunner came back I was extremely happy about its redesign.

if you ask me, reworking and re-releasing old towers is totally cool...... IF you compensate players who put time and efforts into getting them originally by doing ONE simple thing, a skin unique specifically to OG owners. Gladiator, Commando, Swarmer, Frost Blaster, etc. if they obtained the Tower during the event duration they should receive a skin for their effort and dedication of playing TDS for such a long time.

I quit tds cause the skin they decide to re release, tds used to be known as a gate keeping for the ogs. but now its whatever thankfully i still got some a few rare ones from the 2019 era and hopefully those do not make it into the crate system. It may be a bad thing to bring back old exclusive skins as they create a sense of rarity and power for those who have it making them surprisingly play more TDS. It also creates motivation for the players who don't have them, it makes them want to try and see if they can ever get the exclusive skins making an endless goal for these players. I have experienced it and seen it, for example I have been playing TDS for a long time and the exclusive skins I have gives me some kind of grudge and makes me want to play more TDS because I love to use them and I also want to keep playing for the exclusives skins I don't own. If every skins in the game were in one crate that everyone could get at anytime, it would be so boring! There would be no point in getting these skins, rarity can make one skin look cooler, if we all had every skins, we would be so hedonically adapted to them and they would be all boring!

Man, im SO pissed that they brought back pumpkin mini. For some context, im a 2019 player, but no one ever believes me because i have no proof, and pumpkin mini was my only way to prove that i was at least playing in 2020 as that was the only skin i was able to get.

The whole idea of gatekeeping tower skins is true, I've been playing TDS since basically the beginning, Overtime I've obtained every single skin due to dedication, Same goes for the towers. Me personally, I don't care if they resell old event towers, as long as the true winners who had obtained them all those years back get an exlusive skin to show their efforts instead of "Oh hey so you can pay 5$ for this 5 year old tower". Gatekeeping skins is where it gets dicey, Skins (as you stated near the start of the video) Don't hold any benefits or gameplay changes. I think what TDS needs is to be a bit more considerate to their older players (Selfish of me I know.) Newer players should definitely be able to utilize old skins coming back, But it seems very unfair for older players. Take this christmas event for example, I did not have to spend a single dollar on the jolly crates simply because I had grinded the previous events, You could argue "Newer players have to grind 4k coins just for a chance at an old skin" Yes. This is true, And I see that being somewhat justified. Which is why I'm also hesitant if TDS decided to make an entire event dedicated to a Commando rework. If that is the case, I ask myself and the other 400k people who got him, "What's in it for us? We already have it." Which is where the crossfire begins to settle, Newer players, as I said, should be able to use the old towers, It's not fair gatekeeping a tower to be limited. Skins though should be gatekept, or at least well rounded to a form of respect, It felt very insulting to just see the 2019 christmas farm pop up in this years crate without changes. It felt like TDS does not care about their old players who've still stuck around all these years. But I can't complain since It'd be selfish towards the new people/People who didn't have time/didn't play during 2019. I'd say if they are going to re-release old skins, Let the people who had initially keep the old version, And make a different replica of the skin for newer people. It's an all around solution. Older players keep their exclusive old crap, New players get to have a similar copy in the 2024 TDS style. Win win in my book. As a last note, I respect new players who are just there to play TDS and want a shot at getting something old, It's nice to see. Now seeing this whole comment I feel like the average veteran rambling about how new players shouldn't get this and that, But that's not what I'm writing for, Moreso a middle ground where both parties are satisfied, I get it, They're just skins that serve no purpose other than cosmetic. But the word "Exclusive" has lost all of its meaning when it comes to TDS.

as a person who started to tds in spring 2020 and most likely missed the hw 20 event due to my own dislikes for the whole hardcore update changes, I don't think returning back the old skins and towers is not a good idea. However gatekeeping those towers and skins is also completely pointless and dumb. Not only you are not gatekeeping anything (cus yk you don't really control what devs are going to do) but you are sad about a things value that is probably not even sellable in black market. gatekeeping a tower that is worse than minigunner is not really a smart move.

I think most of these rare skins should stay locked. i don't exactly have all of them, but i think having a skin like that would be a great way to show how long you've been playing the game. like, there are barely any skins now that show that i've been playing since the game wasn't even half a year old. but towers, though? rerelease them. it's a good opportunity to make "new" concepts without doing much. a good way to implement this would be giving everyone who already has the og tower, just, keep the old model. it requires 0 effort and older players know how cool and epic you are for playing a roblox game for a long time.

I think we should remember what 5ouls said about this. That being… “Stop gatekeeping old towers/old skins Let people enjoy things, old skins or towers shouldn’t be locked behind a wall”. And to be fair, he was right. These “ogs” shouldn’t be getting mad over them “old tower/skin” returning. I get that skins are just cosmetics but new players have been missing out on a lot of content added to the game.
