I own the F Astronaut and the G Pygmy (and a B Onoleo which I like very much). I was allowed to try the e low pygmy at a friend's house. There I had the feeling I don't need that too...my favorite is the G Pygmy ♥. I love this scale, it's like yin and yang. It has a light and a dark side, so perfectly balanced.

Thanks for sharing! I love the G Pygmy, I had the Onoleo and found it difficult to connect, so I sold it 😅. But I definitely agree, the G Pygmy is beautiful and balanced 🧡

What do you like more about the G Pygmy over the F Astronaut? Since the F has fewer unique notes, I wonder if it is slightly less interesting to play than the G.

@@govinda671 The F Astronaut is a penatonic scale with one major and two minor chords. The G Pygmy is a hexatonic scale with two major and two minor chords. That makes it more interesting for me. Especially as the G Pygmy can also sound cheerful, the Astronaut has a stronger minor character in my opinion. I sold my Astronaut to a friend and now I have the B Arabian Night as my third. I like this one and find it exciting with three semitone steps. It's a bit easier to play than the B Onoleo, but doesn't quite come close to it...the Onoleo is very special, but just great. I also own an Achelois Hum Drum from Italy in B Voyager, which is also a pentatonic pygmy version, but this instrument has an extremely long sustain and is perfect for a meditative playing style. In this case, I think a pantatonic is good, but otherwise it quickly becomes boring.

@@steffhartmann4374 Hey, thanks for writing. I was going for the F Astronaut. But after reading this the G Pygmy sounds more interesting and Rav say suited to beginners too. its a whole new world!

I own the F Astronaut also. Can you please make a tutorial video on it as to what are some easy rhythms and patterns to learn? What notes go together, etc. Thanks.

To tell you the truth I would Go with F Astronaut only because the E Low Pygmy is harder to differentiate the notes while playin. But totally your choice!

@sehshn thank you for your reply. Now having a f astronaut for a few weeks and can totally relate to what you mention. I am very happy I chose the f astronaut instead of the e low. It offers me a larger range to play in plus the vibe to me is the just right . Mystic deep 😊🫶 I think i would love an E scale with more variation tough 🤓
