I'm starting to believe when Kendrick shout out Dee-1 he was really saying he wished he was naive/simple as Dee-1. Based on this video, I can see the naivete in Dee-1 assessment of the beef. Kendrick telling Dee-1 for all the "woke" he is, he still doesn't understand God or himself. Kendrick has repeatedly said what this beef is about and why he had to go to "war". It's more spiritual than Dee-1 giving credit for. On Kendrick's side I don't see this as ego. Kendrick is more loyal for his love for God which drives his passion for hip hop going back to it authentic nature. He's literally fighting to save the very music Dee-1 makes. I could be wrong, but i feel he missed the point of the beef and that it was necessary to bring awareness to the industry mismanagement and disdain for such a powerful art form.

You missed the point, just like Drake. He is saying Drake is profitting of African American pain. He shows the world an image of black America because that it what he is imitating. He is not a part of black American culture, which he is not. Wayne told him not to do this, and he did it any way because of ego. He is trying to protect people who actually have to deal with every day that he does not because of his upbringing. Plus, his behavior toward children should be brought to light.

At the detriment of another BLACK man? Doesn't align with Kenny's godly principles
@robhillva8 ай бұрын
@@icecreamjones1 YES, I do not put one person over the good of the whole. I spent 18 months in Spain studying and people I met were surprised that I was not trapping but studying. The image portrayed by one of the biggest pop stars is that we are all womanizing roadmen. That is a hurtful persona to be labeled with when you leave this country. People do not see Drake as a bicultural Canadian rapper who grew up in the Jewish culture. They see him as the embodiment of African American culture. He is not from or a part of African American culture no more than my friend who moved from South Africa to The States and had to be educated on the history of the N word in America. To bring up the slave trade and wearing blackface is proof of his otherness. Lastly, Kenny does not see Drake as a goldy man and as a Christian, he is commanded to rebuke evil. To deal with evil you must first name it. K Dot has done this repeatedly during this rap battle.

I was not aware that light skinned... dark skinned was even an issue. It seemed to be more about an individual who was raised culturally white in Canada coming to America and taking on an identity that he can't truly relate to. Wanye told him to be his authentic self and keep it Canadian... but he chose to a different path. Complexion wasn't the issue. It was more about a person not being able to identify with a Black American experience historically or present day pretending to be something he is not. He is not American. He also is not a gangster. He cannot identify with the nuances of being authentically a part of Black American culture. And in hip hop, there is room for him to be true to the culture he was raised in because he has talent. I don't listen to either one of those guys because it is secular music... but I do believe people should be who they really are. (That includes Rick Ross.) I will pray for all of these guys to find their identity in Christ. 🙏🏽

Great points about Rap beef being sort of lame and that the 'leaders' who could elevate the discussion are taking sides and fanning the flames. Kendrick did say sometimes you have to pop out. And seeing a person you find reprehensible claiming greatness in the rap game when you don't even think he belongs in the category, and you came up the hard way, I can see being pissed. Love the host offering a different perspective on this. Highly recommended. I wonder what the host thinks of Katt Williams saying it is all coming out in 2024. Scribes and pharisees? I see a through line of artists versus the industry or outsiders versus the establishment. Host has a great high level take. We all choose what we watch and think about and it has consequences.

I honestly believe that this is a season where ppl’s hearts are being exposed. Christian or not. Healing is definitely needed. Especially in our community. Our heart posture matters to God. Hard hearts hinder communication with our Father. And this “beef” is evidence of that. Both of these men are gifted, but they’ve scored hundreds of points for the wrong team. They’re unknowingly using their gifts to be a slave to sin. Nothing about this beef is fruitful. And I stand by your message 💯% Fans have to come out of the zombie state of mind. We have to wake up and realize what we’re feeding our spirits. Our souls are too precious to God to continue to destroy them with darkness. Also, the Bible talks about Unforgiveness, & how our father in Heaven won’t forgive us unless we forgive others. Unforgiveness literally blocks our blessings. These men are literally the weapons formed against themselves. And it’s disheartening to say the least.

Could you discuss the aspect of light skin versus dark skin in this situation? I've been closely following it. They've labeled Drake as a "white boy" and "colonizer" and suggested he shouldn't be allowed to use the N-word. Kendrick's song "They Not like us" further fueled the discussion. The racial divide was significant. Many black fans supported Kendrick, believing his victory was essential for the culture. It seemed like a widespread sentiment, as if there was a memo. It almost felt like they were trying to remove Drake from hip-hop, as if Kendrick winning would lead to Drake leaving the genre. Thank you
