Do you daily the billet block or not? If so how do you find it cope with everyday life
@norrifactory Жыл бұрын
Hey mate. I do not daily drive the GTR, it’s gets driven some weekends to car shows or when I feel like letting off some steam and going fast. I do however literally check fluid levels, warm the car up for about 10 minutes, check the emtron for codes. Then I just drive it like any normal 600-1200hp car gets driven. I love the billet block it has strength a cast block will never have. I think if you have an open budget go billet if you are cost conscious then definitely go cast. As for everyday life the billet block is unreal!

Thanks was wondering how a billet block would handle being a daily due to its density and strength over cast but also heard doesn't dissipate heat as good weighing up pros and cons if they find for years of daily driving it'd be well worth it plus gets cool points but if it damages or fails within 6month to a year due to its heat or thermal expansion whatever it is no point really looking for some insight Love the engine build but didn't see much is the rotating assembly nitto and do you know if nitto do the (rb32jz frankensteins 😂🤣) wider main bearing sizes Sorry for long ass post big respect from Scotland U.K

Curious as to why you feel the way you do about PRP…? I’m not disagreeing with you, but curious as to why you feel that way…. Care to share?
@norrifactory2 жыл бұрын
Hey man, Thanks for watching the episode and happy to answer. I first had issues with PRPs LS1 alternator kit. We could not get the belt to either not squeal or throw the belt off completely under load. We tried everything from MANY different belts to laser alignment of the pulleys. In the end I used a slow motion camera on the alt and it was moving all over the show under high RPM, we contacted the PRP team and they sent us a “revised” kit as they knew there were issues. The new kit was nearly identical. I’m not sure it may be an isolated issue but it needed a better brace behind the alt in my opinion. We also ordered other parts that did not fit and the customer service was not interested in helping, I think maybe a few products are rushed to market without testing and proper R&D, but honestly some of the PRP products are second to none and we will use them. Also not a huge fan of the colours/anodising but some dudes like that I guess.

I just watched one of your vids,the one that you announced that you had gone to the billet Rb30 block and dropped the amazing HKS Rb28 with V-cam,my heart dropped. I was so happy you we're building a proper drivers car,right in the sweet spot. That billet block is for typical Aussie hp lunacy,lol. So disappointed, in fact gutted. And by the way a stock Rb 26 is 2,568cc, not a 2.4. You might as well go 1500hp now a make a quarter mile car as I'm sure you'll just go for more and more power . Just my opinion!. You should cat it project over kill. Ha.

This is an old video. We built the 32 for high hp and made it a fast car so it was not over kill at all. Infact I wish I had made it stronger. The hks 2.8 with vcam is going in our 33 vspec build we are about to start. So don’t panic all of those parts are going into a 33 v spec oem plus build. Should start it this week or next.

Single stage oil pump on billet engine expect some hurt, they must be dry sumped
@norrifactory Жыл бұрын
Hey mate, that’s interesting What hurt or issues have you come across with wet sumps? I know a few people with billet blocks and wet sump. Even bullet engineering who builds the billet blocks and put together this engine set it up for wet sump. Thanks for commenting appreciate it

Where you have your oil feed into the engine is wrong!!! That’s doesn’t go to the oil galleries!!! You need to put it into the one just behind it (and slightly above).
@norrifactory2 жыл бұрын
Hey man thanks for commenting! Yes you are correct we haven’t yet fully plumbed the engine I was just playing around with fittings sourcing sizes. Thanks tho as that would be a disaster!
@bretth32242 жыл бұрын
@@norrifactory no worries, I’ve just put a billet 2.8 in my r32 and am in the process of plumbing the oil system now so noticed it straight away
